The Rycote Medium Suspension 68 Duo for Shotgunsprovides shotgun microphones with isolation from handling noise and has a comfortable pistol-grip that allows for handheld use. The suspension isolates by supporting the microphone in a cradle arrangement using Lyre suspension webs. There is also a 3/8" boom adaptor in the base for quick transfer boom operation.

A: No, this Rycote Mini Windjammer is intended for use with a different mic. For the VideoMic Pro+, you can use the Rycote Mini Windjammer for Rode VMP+ (B&H # RY055470) or Rode DeadCat VMPR+ Artificial Fur Windshield for VideoMic Pro Plus Microphone (B&H # RODEADCATVPP).

Q: 2. Seems like the only suspension product available for the Sony D100. The 2 existing reviews of the 041130 are quite negative, so is there another product (rubber/silicone?) that would fit the 3/8 thread and further dampen bumps and shocks? The intent would be to put a Sony D100 atop a camera or use a flexible arm connected to the same tripod the camera uses. Obviously, you don't want noise from camera movement on the tripod to enter the D100. Thanks.

A: Hi JDW26: thanks for your question. Unfortunately, this is the only solution we currently provide for the D100; we do not recommend making any additional modifications to the mount. Sorry we can't help any more in this case.

Q: 3. Pertaining to the question regarding whether or not this mount will work with the videomic pro, for those who do use it, is this the best way to go?

A: I use it with a Sennheiser ME 64 with the K6 powering module, AA battery and aRycote Standard Hole Softie Windscreen. I think the my set up weights about the same as the Rode videomic pro. It works great for me! The RycoteLyre Shockmount is the best I've used with a DSLR. I work professionally and highly recommend Rycote shock mounts

A: The Rycote INV-3 InVision Microphone Suspension is compatible with 20mm microphones only. For a 24mm microphone, a mount such as BH# RYINV9 would be recommended.

A: Rycote does not list a maximum weight the Rycote 041130 mount can support, only a minimum weight of 300g.

A: Rde provide a Lyre Upgrade for the original VideoMic. A search for 'rode videomic lyre upgrade' should get what you are looking for.

Q: 9. Would this work for replacing the stock RDE VideoMic Pro shock mount?

A: This shock mount is designed for a true shotgun mic and would not fit the RODE VideoMic Pro model.

A: Yes, the Rycote Invision Hot Shoe mount is compatible for use with the AT8022 microphone and deadcat windscreen.

[1.25 lb] Unlike the first visual impression, this item does hold the H5 nicely and without strain or obvious overload. I'm an instruction-based buyer, so i would have appreciated a little guidance to confirm my assumptions on how to best configure its use. It's just the comfort factor in knowing i'm not engaged in any guesswork or i'm missing something. 5

[1.25 lb] Unit is well built with quality material and details. The tension of rotating joint can be adjusted by Phillip screw driver. I used this to mount Rode Stereo Videomic X on top of Z6. Although condenser units in Rode SVMX have their mini Rycote mounts, the handling noise of camera can sometimes be heard if mount the SVMX directly on top of camera. This Rycote suspension effectively introduces additional isolation and further eliminate the handling noise. I insert the copper 3/8 hot shoe adapter that came with the kit into SVMX hot shoe mount's 3/8 female thread, and then mount the assembly on top of the Rycote suspension using 1/4 female thread in hot shoe mount. I don't use the angle piece and instead i use a hot shoe adapter that has long 1/4 male thread to connect Rycote suspension to the camera. It is a bit pricey but the quality of the unit make up for the cost. 5

[1.25 lb] I’ve been using it on my zoom h5 mounted to my BMPCC4k rig and it works. I’ve tried the cheap ones on amazon, and they don’t work. I can still hear ALL handling noise. With this, almost no handling noise. I guess you get what you pay for. 5

[1.25 lb] Using a DSLR and a separate audio recorder can be challenging. This unit allows you to easily attach items like Zoom H4N to your DSLR for video work. 5

[1.25 lb] Does a great job of isolating noise from camera handling. It adds a bit of bulk to the rig, but on a tripod it doesn't make too much of a difference. I was a bit hesitant with the price but didn't want to cheap out, and it works great. 5

[1.25 lb] I was hesitant due to the price, but I guess you get what you pay for. Bought a cheap $20 suspension off Amazon and it did basically nothing, I could hear every focus pull. Just rigged this up and nothing, almost complete silence when it comes to handling noise. Wish I’d have bought it sooner. 5
