Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it compatible with Apple iPhone 6S? I just purchased it based in the answers for iPhone 5S, but so far I have not been able to record the input from a variety of external mikes that I've hooked up through this adaptor. Am I missing something or is the configuration different?

A: Do the mcs you've used require external power? Because neither the iPhone nor this adapter will provide power. I can confirm that this adapter WILL will work with any recent iPhone if you use a self-powered mic.

Q: 2. What's the difference between this adapter and the SC3 version?

A: This adapter is to allow a mic with a 3.5mm TRS end to go into a smartphone. The Rode SC3, is the opposite, so it would take a TRRS mic, such as the Rode SmartLav+, and allow you to connect it to a camera or audio recorder, with a TRS 3.5mm mic input.

Q: 3. I just purchased an SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor hoping to connect my Apogee Element 88 to my iPhone 11. My signal chain looks like this - MacBook Pro - Apogee 88 - TRS RCA Cable - SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor - to Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter. The iPhone is not recognizing the mic. Is it possible to use SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor with and RCA cable line out?

A: Upon looking at the Element 88, we notice there are no RCA outputs on the unit. You may be referring to the 1/4'' outputs on the back of the unit. If this is correct, and the cabling is as you suggested with 1/4'' outputs from the ALT out, then technically signal should pass. You may need to look at your DAW outputs and ensure you are sending signal to the ALT outputs and not just the mains. An alternative to that many adapters would be this cable, used from the 1/4'' outputs, and connected right the the Apple lightning to headphone adapter BH #SEIPSUMTS3.

Q: 4. Has the compatibility with the iPhone 6S been worked out in the app?? Are there currently any issues with the app on an iPad Air 2 with the most current iOS?

A: It works fine with the iPhone 6s. I have tested it with the Rode VideoMic Pro and with a Sennheiser EW 112-p G3 wireless, using the Rode Record app and Hindenburg Pro and I've had no issues.

Q: 5. What's the purpose of this adapter?

A: This adaptor will allow you to connect a microphone with a standard male 3.5mm TRS connector to a smartphone, with a 3.5mm TRRS connection.

Q: 6. Can I record audio from my PC external audio jack to my iphone 6s headphone jack using this cable?

A: Yes you can.

Q: 7. How long is this cable?

A: It is 6.7" long. (170 mm.)

Q: 8. Is the Rode SC4 compatible with iphone 5s?

A: Yes it is compatible.

Q: 9. Will this allow me to connect my Ipad Nano 7th gen with a TRRS jack to a regular 3.5mm stereo TRS cable?

A: I just ordered this ... I found that just any TRS male will not work with my new Note 8 which is TRRS female. Apparently, the internal brush contacts are misaligned just enough so that it isn't 100% compatible with TRS male (in my case it was from older Bose headphones).

Q: 10. I need to send audio to my ipad to use with promtsmart which is a voice activated prompter app. Can I use this to take a feed from an audio mixer such as the Zoom F8 to go into the headset 3.5mm of the ipad pro? Would an audio xlr to 1/8 extension from the mixer work with this adapter?

A: I'm not sure because my use was for different equipment and applications.Sorry.

[Black] No other cord I've had for my front-loading Fender Mustang bass comes close. This gold-tipped wonder runs silent and deep without any tangle. Highly recommended for pro sound!

[24 AWG] I did purchase two of this cables to connect my monitors to Liquid Saffire 56 interface. Mogami never disappoint me, all cables in my studio are Mogami. The only MIDI cable I use Comprehensive because Mogami don't make MIDI.

[Yes] I use this as the instrument cable for my bass guitar and it really lets the natural tone of my bass shine through. The signal comes out very clear and without any buzz or hum of any kind. The cable itself is very sturdy as well. Only possible gripe on my part about this is that the metal connector on the gold plug tends to twist loose by itself once in a while but it's no big deal. The cable itself is amazing. And the lifetime warranty is a sweet deal as well!

[Black] I use this xlr cable for the on-camera shotgun mic for a Sony EX3. It works wonderful and is the perfect length. Originally I tried a 3 foot cable, but it was too long and wound around getting in the way. This one is great, and the quality and craftsmanship of the cable is great too.

[Black] The cable was purchased for patching to Avid 16x16 analog IO from mixer outputs. As expected, good quality connections, with clear signal.

[Yes] We use these for patching and for vocal studio mics, anywhere where we don't want to introduce noise into a mix in the studio. We also use them in patching for our live recording rig.

Where we don't use them is the Live stage. Even with the warranty and their great durability, they are too expensive to be torn up.

[Yes] I only buy mogami. High quality and light weight. Great for mobile DJ. I have two 50' two 6' , and two 20' XLR. All three combined are equal to the weight of one regular XLR and I can hear the difference in clarity. Unless it's an illusion......they are expensive but if you have great gear, and people are paying you for good sounds, I like to please my audience and please my ears!!

[Black] So, honestly, I don't know if cables are really worth this kind of money. Good cables cost, but do they really cost this much? I'm not a manufacturer so I can't say. All I can say is that I wanted the best cables to minimize interference and signal loss and these fit the bill. I could have bought less expensive cables that caused disappointment and then I would be out that money, so I just went for the "best". Absolutely no disappointment and signals are very clean. I didn't needs the "stage" model, but I couldn't find the regular "Gold" in a 30-foot length. Now that I have Mogami cables connecting all of my equipment (and a wallet that has substantially less green), I have peace of mind. This brand is one that you will be very happy with if you can spend the money and not look back. Don't think about first costs or you'll cry but - later - you'll be glad that you used some of your 401k to get the best.
