Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Please tell me how big is the opening for the speedlight?

A: I only use it for my Elinchrom BRX 500 and yes, it's big enough for most light. Regards,Pat

Q: 2. Could this be used on a Neewer 72" parabolic umbrella?

A: This was designed for a 7' umbrella.

Q: 3. Would this work with my godox ms300 flash

A: Yes, this Godox White Parabolic Umbrella is compatible with the Godox MS300 monolight.

Q: 4. Will this work on the Impact 65 Deep Umbrella?

A: The Interfit Translucent Diffuser for 65 Parabolic Umbrellas B&H # INUP7DI is a more suitable diffuser.

Q: 5. how wide is this umbrella diffuser edge to edge please?

A: 84" edge to edge.

Q: 6. Has anyone used two of these Westcott umbrella diffusers on the same umbrella for super soft, diffused light? I know that you lose about a stop of light per diffuser and that's not an issue. Thank you.

A: Using two diffusers would have little effect on softening the light further as softness is a result of the size of the modifier, the distance from the subject and the evenness of the spread of light over the diffusion surface. Since there would be little or no separation between the two fabrics (such as with an inner baffle on a softbox) to further spread the light, little benefit other than the loss of light you mentioned would result. A better option would be to choose an umbrella with a white inner surface which projects a more evenly distributed light initially and combining it with the diffuser.

Q: 7. Will this item work with hot lights?

A: Depends on the 'hot' aspect of the light. If you are talking about LEDs or flourescent lights, yes. If you are talking about incandescent or halogen I would not recommend this.

Q: 8. Can someone tell me the nature of the fabric used in this diffuser. Is it cotton or a synthetic ? Is it something that will rip very easily?

A: The following is a synthetic translucent light modifier that fits over the Parabolic Umbrella and converts it to a large softbox with just a 1/2 stop loss of output.

Q: 9. Can I use this diffuser with a square LED panel?

A: The diffuser may interfere with many square LED panels.

Q: 10. Will this work with a westcott triple threat speedlight adapter and three speedlights?

A: Yes. I've seen this setup demonstrated in a video before. I can't find the link, or I would share it with you.

[16] Fantastic and easy to use diffusion for 7' parabolic umbrellas. I purchased this diffusion after owning the silver lined 7' Westcott umbrella for the past 10 years. It's a game changer and brings new life to my already owned umbrella. It's great for diffusion when lighting large families and groups and much more portable and lighter than a softbox of similar size.

[Black] After 8 years, my diffuser no longer had elastic to hold itself in place, the string fell out and it had gotten singed from my modeling light. I replaced it with this and tried it out, nice soft light. Fits perfectly. Love it!

[16] It is big. Really. I was expecting it to be smaller, but I am OK with it now. It delivers a very soft light, still the size was a problem on my last shooting. I was in a very small apartment and it was difficult with fully open umbrella. We closed it a little bit so it take less room. The quality seems very decent, I would say even very good. I have 2 cheap umbrellas. Both broke few times, but i was able to repair them. On a shooting one felt because of the wind and it is completely destroyed. I don't want to test this new one, still, I am sure it is a lot stronger because of the material the ribs are made of.

[Silver] Was looking to upgrade from a cheap umbrella to something more professional type and found Godox, it's bigger than my old umbrella but it is enough to do the job.
