The 82mm Hoya MkII Circular Polarizing Filter 82mmfrom Hoya MkII Circular Polarizing Filter 82mmeliminates unwanted reflections from nonmetallic surfaces such as water and glass, as well as light that is reflected off atmospheric moisture and pollution. It creates beautiful deep blue skies and saturates foliage when shooting landscapes. This HD filter uses high-transmission polarizing film to create images with enhanced contrast and clarity without affecting the overall color balance. It is made with high-transparency polarizing film that has 25% better light transmission than the standard polarizing film used in typical photographic filters, resulting in nearly 1/2 stop more light entering the lens while yielding the same polarization effect. This filter is made with a chemically reinforced optical glass that is up to four times stronger than regular glass. It features 16 layers of antireflective multicoating for optimal light and color transmission, and a resistance coating that repels water, oil, and stains. The slim aluminum frame design allows it to be used on wide-angle lenses without vignetting, and it features knurling on the top and sides for easy handling.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the 400mm f/2.8L IS USM version I?

A: It should if the lens is taking the 52mm filter size

Q: 2. Do we have ND variable for drop in filter for 600mm lens

A: https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/763737-REG/Canon_4773B001_52mm_Drop_in_Gelatin_Filter.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/763737-REG/Canon_4773B001_52mm_Drop_in_Gelatin_Filter.html/a is what you are looking for... Pro: interchangeable 52mm filters. Con: Some people express concern about filter/screw threads contaminating the inner lens elements after prolonged use. I personally see little use (potential) for ND filters on my 600mm lens. I would compromise and set my ISO to 100 and a high aperture for longer exposures. Of course, if you want to shoot at a wide open aperture, then you must use your camera in lower light. The best light is closer to sunrise and sunset, so you should be OK in most circumstances. Good luck with your selection :o)

Q: 3. does this fit canon 500 f4 first generation?

A: Hi, yes, this filter will fit the first generation 500mm f/4L lens.

Q: 4. Does this come with a pouch to protect it?

A: This filter does not come with its own pouch. If you need a filter pouch, check out the Ruggard Four Pocket Filter Holder: http://bhpho.to/1jtnj0K

Q: 5. Does it fit the Canon EF 800mm f/5.6 lens?

A: Yes, the Canon Drop-In Circular Polarizing Filter PL-C 52 (WIII) works for the Canon EF 800mm f/5.6 lens.

Q: 6. Can this be used with the RF to EF drop in filter adapter?

A: No, you would need Canon Drop-In Circular Polarizing Filter A (https://bhpho.to/2QeQFnq) for that adapter.

Q: 7. The RF adapter with polarizing filter is $299. The polarizing filter by itself is $274 ? That's insane.

A: Yes, doesn't make sense, i'm not sure what Canon was thinking. They have their reasons for certain price points but this escapes me.

Q: 8. Need to locate a Canon 52mm drop in rear UV only filter. My Canon 300 mm 2.8 lens came with a gealtin filter and I purchased a cicurlar polariser drop in filter.

A: If you want a screw in UV filter and the lens you have is Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens B&H # CA30028LIS2 MFR # 4411B002, You first need this holder, Canon - Drop-In Filter Holder for 52mm Screw-In Filters B&H # CAFHS52 MFR # 2612A001.And there are many uv filters and this is one I feel will fit best for that holder, B+W 52mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter B&H # BWUVXSP52 MFR # 66-1066117.Note, you cannot use the Canon 2585A001 52mm Circular Polarizing Filter (Rear Drop-in) at the same time as the UV filter.

Q: 9. Can this filter be used with Canon RF 600mm F4?

A: Yes, the Canon Drop-In Circular Polarizing Filter PL-C 52 (WIII) is compatible with the Canon RF 600mm f/4.

Q: 10. What is the major differences between the PL-C 52 and the PL-C 52Wll?

A: The difference between the PL-C 52 and the PL-C 52WII is that the PL-C 52WII has a wheel so that you can rotate the Polarizer while it is in the lens. This a very valuable feature and well worth the extra bit of cash.

[Aluminum] Photos taken with this filter are razor sharp. The bottom bayonete mounts securely to the lens. After it is mounted, the outer ring can still be rotated to vary the filtering for that perfect picture.

[Aluminum] It is one of the most expensive circular polarizing filters available, but I went for it after finding that a leading and very well-reviewed competitor's similar model imparted an annoying warming tint to all the photos. Used on my Canon 100-400mm F4-5-5.6L II USM lens, the Hoya is thin, rotates easily without binding, secures the Canon lens cap completely, and imparts no discernible tint, while it does its job of upping the sky contrast and intensifying the colors in the scene otherwise obscured by light reflections. Worth the doubling in price, from my point of view.

[82 mm] I really like these filters. They do a great job of removing glare and making colors more rich, but without eating as much light as regular polarizer filters. I keep it on the lens most of the time and only remove it for dim light conditions... and sometimes not even then.

[0.22 lb] This Polarizer is very light and bright. You can leave it on the lens and keep it all day. The quality is very good. I am using it for photography of my Artworks.

[Aluminum] Excellent CP Filter but pricey. However the quality and not having to bump the EV much is a big plus.

[0.22 lb] This thing is built like a tank. Optically, it functions as well as any other circular polarizer. But where it shines is in its amazing build quality

[Glass] This thing is the ducks nuggets, it loses only 0.3 stop, so is a mild cpl vs a full 1.3stop cpl, but a; it makes your images pop without worrying about the dreaded 'x' too much, and, b; you can leave it on as a general lens protector as it only looses 0.3 stop. What is there not to like? Chz.
