[1-Year ] I purchased this unit so I could begin to mat my own photos rather than having them done at the framing shop. This unit came highly recommended, so I thought I would give it a try. I will be using it to cut maybe 10-15 mats per month. So far it has been a breeze to use and produces great results. Being new to cutting my own mats I didnt know what to expect, but they are turning out great. So far its just been simple mats and cuts, but as I get more comfortable, I will begin to start trying more advanced cuttings. Comes with all the tools I think I will need at this point. Its well made and well packaged. I have not found anything I am not satisfied with yet. Seems to be perfect for the non-high volume user.

[Yes] Happy I bought this..works well and the results are excellent. Only very slightly out of square when I got it, but that is expected with a mass produced product shipped widely - easily corrected in less than 10 minutes. The book is helpful, and there's a youtube video that tells you all you need to know. Learning curve on making mats for the first time was less than expected using this tool.

[Parts & Labor] I tried the Hollyland Mars 4K units and they were decent. However, we do a lot a band shots in our production and the delay was noticeable. I wasn't happy with that.


These units have no delay at all on our screens and have been very pleased so far.


They do get hot but that didn't affect performance. Having our camera operator be able to go anywhere in our event tent without wires gave us a great advantage with the shots we were able to get.


Best part, NO WIRES!

[Extended] I would say this is the least expensive Logan worth getting. I had a 350 which was pretty useless. The 750 has a real squaring arm. It works so much better. Nice that it also has the glass, plastic and paper cutting features which I haven't tried yet.

[Yes] The mat cutter portion of this is all I have used thus far, so my review will pertain to that portion only. Assembly was quick and relatively intuative. I quickly set about trying to cut my first mat. Sizing the mat was easy using the backer board from the frame I had purchased. The straight cutter sliced through the mats like butter. I then used the pencil method to make my beveled cuts. Again, the beveled cutter worked like a champ and I have a clean cut double mat for my picture. All-in-all, it took me about 15 mins total and that is with having two children interrupting me periodically while I was cutting. I am extremely happy we got this cutting system and look forward to trying more intricate designs! Helpful things to keep in mind: - Make sure to keep the pencil tight against the guide if using the pencil method for mats, if not, your cut will not line up with the pencil marks. (Not a really big deal because they are on the back of the mat, but good to know so you do not worry the cuts will be wrong) - When you start cutting with either cutter, make sure to push down all the way through the mat before pulling, or you may have to make a second pass, which can be risky if the mat has shifted since the first cut. - The slip sheet provided works great to ensure the front of the mat does not fray or have jagged edges. - I have found the blades dull rather quickly, so you might replace them after you have cut 3-4 mats, versus waiting for jagged edges to tell you to change the blade.

[1-Year ] One great tool, could not make my craft without it. And for B&H couldnt have been any easier, great people to work with.

[Extended] I had used the same model in a matting and framing class at our local photography club, so I knew what to expect and only had to refresh my knowledge a bit with online instructional videos before use. Assembly is very easy. The cutter is well-made and fairly easy to use. Bending over the device while cutting can lead to back strain after a while but the only alternatives are the wall-mounted commercial cutters which cost a fortune. Overall, a well-designed product that gets the job done.

[Yes] Love the cross compatibility features as well. Really don't love the nonstandard Phillips slots on the GM plate. Soft metal and very easy to strip out.
