Add inspiration to your next song writing and performing endeavor with the Arturia KeyStep Pro Chroma, a powerful multi-functional sequencing and performance controller that features an electrified metallic aesthetic, new customization options, and an all-new firmware. The KeyStep Pro Chroma utilizes an advanced 4-part polyphonic sequencer with a great feeling 3-ocatve velocity-sensitive keyboard with aftertouch, making it well suited for producers, musicians, and artists looking to sequence and perform musical ideas in an expressive and articulated way.

With an ever-growing collection of modular gear, analog synthesizers, drum machines and software instruments, the KeyStep Pro allows you to perform and control in perfect unison. There are four independent sequencers, controlling whatever synth, module, or drum machine you want. The sequencer features 16 patterns per track, and each pattern can be up to 64 steps long and contain 16 notes per step. Up to 16 patterns can be chained together to create a whole song or sections of a live set. What's more, the onboard scene memory takes snapshots of all the sequences within a pattern, letting you instantly switch between sets of sequences. Everything is saved to a project, which can be loaded, duplicated, tweaked, edited, and re-saved again.

There are 4 CV, Gate and Mod outputs, 8 dedicated drum Gate outputs, Clocks, MIDI in, 2 MIDI outs, a solo metronome output, sustain input to let you get expressive with your performance, and USB for easy power and DAW/softsynth control. If you like working in the box, the KeyStep Pro easily sequences and arpeggiates your virtual instruments, syncing everything with your software studio. Switch to the dedicated Control mode to control parameters in your favorite synths and effects. Gigging with the KeyStep Pro is fun and easy, with intuitive and instant access to inspiring performance features. Utilize multimode arpeggiators, randomness, an easy chord mode, and real-time recording for creating on the fly, while the crisp OLED displays and LED-illuminated controls help you see it all in the dim lights of the stage.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have an Air 2s, and would like to upgrade to the RC Pro. Will it work with the drone I have now?

A: Unfortunately, at the moment the standalone DJI RC Pro is not compatible with the DJI Air 2s. The DJI bundle that includes the Air 2S and the RC Pro are currently the only option that will contain and Air 2S compatible controller.

Q: 2. Will this remote will work with the DJI Mavic 3 Classic ?

A: Yes. The DJI RC Pro Remote Controller is compatible with the DJI Mavic 3 Classic.

Q: 3. I read over at Amazon that this controller would also work with DJI Mini 3 Pro. Is this true?

A: The DJI RC Pro controller is compatible with DJI Mavic 3, DJI Mavic 3 Cine, DJI Air 2S but not the DJI Mini 3 Pro.

Q: 4. Can you store this on the smaller end, standing in a closet or corner of the room? Or does it need to lie down and take up 5 feet on the floor somewhere?

A: Standing is fine as the unit comes with a post support.

Q: 5. Can I get a clean HDMI output? , that is, without the screen information.

A: The DJI RC Pro Remote Controller will provide a clean hdmi out.

Q: 6. Is there a way to cover the bottom of the pull-up screen so feet can be keyed?

A: You could use the Savage Widetone Seamless Background Paper (#46 Tech Green, 53" x 36'), BH # SABGP5346 to cover the bottom. https://bhpho.to/35NZVva

Q: 7. Can 2 of these be put together for a wider background?

A: The Impact Pro Rapid 5 x 7' Portable Background (Chroma Green) can not be combined with more units.

Q: 8. Can you add a SIM card? For the purpose of downloading Maps while on remote locations instead of tethering to you phone.

A: Unfortunately, the DJI RC Pro does not accept SIM cards for data.

Q: 9. Will this remote work with the DJI Mini 3 Pro?

A: Unfortunately no. The DJI RC Pro controller is compatible with DJI Mavic 3, DJI Mavic 3 Cine, DJI Air 2S.

Q: 10. Two questions: a) what is the difference between standard and pro version? (they are supposedly the same weight?) b) how can I give an honest review and get it for free, like the only 3 reviews you have? ;-)

A: The pro version is a thicker background material.

[1x 1/4" Sustain] I gave this to my son as an early Christmas present and he is very happy with the Arturia KeyStep Controller/Sequencer. Also, B&H photo has superior customer service and very fast shipment!

[7.9 lb] I use it as a MIDI keyboard, a sequencer, an arpeggiator, and then do all of that with the CV too. It's great.

[USB Cable] This keyboard creates both MIDI and CV and it's also a sequencer and a drum-machine and everything you would like to have. It makes most of my Eurorack modules so much more useful, because there are things I wouldn't do because of too much wiring, but KeyStep Pro creates all the signals, they're synchronized and it's so much easier.

[1x 1/4" Sustain] Arturia's BeatStep Pro is a very welcome addition to my hardware. I have been able to use it in place of keys in a lot more situations that I expected. With this in my collection, I was also able to grow the confidence to let go of a drum machine I had held onto for too long.

I had looked at a couple of sequencers because my main synthesizer did not have one built in. It is a nice piece, and I looked at a lot of nice sequencers. The BeatStep Pro kept getting good reviews, so I picked one up expecting to sell it when I purchased another. Well, I kept using it and ended up setting a couple of other pieces free. It is really nice to work with.

My biggest issue is one that runs across a lot of pieces. Arturia has created an extensive .pdf manual. At times the page count reminds me of Devarahi's textbook (length more than raw info). I think Arturia could distill this information into a 30 page manual included with the BSP. We could then have it for easy reference.

[USB Cable] Keyboard is shrunken but playable synth-action with velocity and after-touch to work out your music. The 64-step, 8-note sequencer lets you do some complicated things already, not just dance beats. It’s sturdy built and stays put nicely. Knobs and pads are firm to touch.

Actually got the BeatStep first but realized that’s more for DJ’s. Thought I’d miss the knobs but I play with one hand and the other using the mouse works fine to tweak the sound. The sequencer here also excels, worth it alone. Merchandise exchange with B&H no problem, thanks.

Quality product, check it out if it works for you.

[1x 1/4" Sustain] I was looking for something smaller than my full size Emu Xboard 61 but bigger than my Keith M illen K-Board and this is definitely it. The keys aren't mini-keys, they're slimkeys with velocity and channel aftertouch that feel more like the excellent feel of the Emu Xboard 61 instead of the rubber drumpad-like keys on the K-board. There's no pitchbend/mod wheel, instead there's two capactive touch strips that are very responsive. I'll use the KeyStep primarily with the USB connection, but it also has mod, gate, pitch and sync outputs (and sync in) if I want to connect to modular analog gear. In addition to the USB MIDI connection there are DIN MIDI in and out and a sustain pedal input that automatically senses the polarity of your sustain pedal. The majorly cool features though, are the polyphonic step sequencer and the arpeggiator. Pretty amazing that this stuff is included at all at this price, and they are by no means an after thought. It wasn't that long ago that just the step sequencer functionality would set you back hundreds of dollars if you bought a separate step sequencer. The KeyStep combines this and versatile I/O along with a great feeling keybed for less than $120.

[Monochrome OLED] It is a fine little MIDI keyboard. I do wish the black keys were a little wider, but I think they are as skinny as they are so that wider fingers than mine can fit between.

[Gray] First of all: I ordered it on B&H and arrived the next day, free shipping!!! Wow! The Arturia Keystep is tremendously versatile and powerful controller. Everything is done right here! Plus, it's built very well!!! If you have hardware/software synths, a good computer (or two), a couple of iPads latest generations, buy it and you'll be more than satisfied! I use mine through Roland Juno-G, Roland GR-20, various laptops, iPads, iMac -- triggering lots of software, and I have to tell you that I can't stop using it! Don't forget one very important thing: it has a conventional MIDI IN/OUT, plus the USB, which also sends MIDI. Look around and try to find out how many controllers offer that sort of versatility?!? And for that price!!!???

Two things I have to figure out: how to save parameters from the Midi Control Center to the Keystep, and if I can plug it in into a battery (RAV) and only send the MIDI to an iPad, in order not to burn too fast through the iPad's battery. Other than that, look at the title of this post!!!
