The front laptop sleeve and front storage pocket make up the rest of the 9" depth that the airlines allow, which leaves 6.5" for the camera compartment. But the Tenba CIneluxe Backpack 21 is 8.5" deep and was designed specifically to carry a built rig, even onto an airplane. So that would be much more suitable for the FX3 rig.
