A: I would think so. The phantom 4 is smaller than the 3 (but a little taller). SHouldn't be a problem.

A: You will not be able to leave the guards in place when packing away your drone in this case. There's plenty of room inside to store your removed guards...but if you look at the outside dimensions of this case (10x15x22) vs your P3 with guards on, you'll see it won't fit. You might want to get either removable guards -or- you can buy snap-on adapters that fit your particular prop guards (that's what I use).

A: They can be removed but then, it would be pretty much permanent. But I wouldnt put anything really heavy in it. Its not like a really tough case in that sense. Also When traveling dont place anything heavy on top either. Like a heavy road case etc.. Dont get me wrong its still a great case for many uses.

A: There is apparently also a layer of steel or other ferrous material laminated in the baseboard, as the provided magnetic hold down strips are attracted to the baseboard.
