Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the preview out show the 2 camera feeds?

A: No, it will not, it will only show the camera that is not in the program feed at that moment.

Q: 2. Could you mix inputs from a camera and from a computer? i.e., with a PowerPoint presentation, use Input A for the video camera on the person speaking, and use Input B directly from the laptop that is sourcing the Power Point.

A: Yes that is possible. Just as long as the computer has an HDMI output which it can feed in to this switcher, you will be able to switch between a camera and computer.

Q: 3. Where can I find the Tripod mount for this product?

A: the Tripod: 1/4"-20 Threaded Mounting Hole is underneath (at the bottom) the device

Q: 4. Does the HDMI program out include audio?

A: Yes, The Roland V-02HD MK II Multi-Format Video Mixer with Streaming HDMI output will also send audio. he V-02HD not only lets you embed analog audio into an HDMI signal — for recording or live streaming — but you can also extract the audio from an HDMI signal to send over to a larger dedicated audio mixer. Where many converters only support digital audio, or offer either embedding or de-embedding (and not both), the V-02HD lets you do it all.

Q: 5. What's the difference between the momentary and dual momentary latching pedal? If I want to be able to switch sources by depressing the pedal once, which should I get?

A: The Roland V-02HD PAC1 kit comes with a unit that has a single foot pedal, while Roland V-02HD PAC2 has a dual foot pedal. Either will work to switch between sources, however if you have the dual pedal you can use one button to change transitions and the other to cut between sources.

Q: 6. Does this come with 16feet hdmi or 6.5 feet hdmi cable?

A: This product comes with two 16' HDMI cables.

Q: 7. does it allow split screen or just pip? Can you manually size & move pip?

A: The Roland V-02HD only has PiP. You can manually size and move the picture-in-picture.

Q: 8. please suggest some arca swiss plate that can be used directly with sachtler plate from RRS , Kirk , promediagear ?

A: An Arca-style baseplate could be used with a Sachtler tripod to adapt an Arca-plate to it. One such option is the ProMediaGear C40 Arca-Type Quick Release Clamp (40mm). https://bhpho.to/36SNa2X

Q: 9. What portable external battery solution for this device? You don't seem to have it listed as an accessory?

A: The manufacture has a web page listing verified external batteries for use with the product here. https://bit.ly/2S1MgVk

Q: 10. Are the current ones for Sony been upgraded to full metal hot shoe already?

A: The hahnel Modus 600RT MK II Speedlight for Sony Cameras is a special order item. So it comes from the manufacture. And chances are it is the latest version they produce.

[Additional] Such a simple device that makes all the difference. Get the XLR connection secured and detached from the boom pole.

Secures snugly between Zeppelin/shockmount and the tip of the boom pole, and can be positioned quickly and easily. No more tape or Bongo ties to keep the connectors secure!

[Additional] I'm currently running an FS7 with V mount batteries, external 5 monitor, Zacuto VCT plate+shoulder plate. Lenses are often at the long & heavy end. This head can handle that setup no problem. For general everyday shooting it will cover all my bases. From my days working in broadcast I grew to like a lot of friction in the head, and it would be nice to have a little more in the tilt axis for long lens work (e.g. surfing), but it's nice to stay with a 75mm system for genearl everyday use.

The head is also lighter than the Manfrotto 504HD I used previously. The prism spirit level is GREAT as someone vertically challenged. I also like that the tie down bolt can be removed, leaving a flat base for mounting on a slider.

I originally wished they made a touch & go version of this head but now have grown to like the advantages of the the Sideload. Mainly that there is much more adjustment range available forward and back.

What would have been nice is if two camera plates were included. The price to buy Sachtler's plates individually is nearly 5% the price of this head - which I think is over the top. Thankfully standard Manfrotto style plates are compatible however I would only trust the Sachtler plate on a heavy/expensive rig.

[Additional] Chose this over the Aktiv series because there's virtually no chance of failing with the traditional tie down system. Yes, it may be very slightly slower to level than Aktiv heads and the flowtech legs won't be able to go as low because of the tie down knob, but I would sacrifice those limitations in exchange for reliability and versatility when mounting on different sticks or dolly. Wish Sachtler sell the flowtech legs with FSB series as a bundle too and not just with the Aktiv series.

[Parts & Labor] Using this with a heavy Ursa broadcast setup at around 22 pounds and have had good results. Very smooth. Counterbalance is almost perfect. I wish the pan drag could go a little stiffer, but its not really a problem.
