This silver/gold CineGearFactory Lame Checkerboard Lighting Fabric Silver Goldfrom CineGearFactory Lame Checkerboard Lighting Fabric Silver Goldis a 6 x 6' reflective fabric for a more subtle, warm effect. The mixed pattern is useful for situations when a gold fabric is too warm and a silver one is too strong. Elastics are integrated into the corners of the fabric. CineGearFactory includes a bag for storage and transport.

Q: 1. Overview description says different diffusion stops available. How do I choose the one I need?

A: Margaret,The silver/white is a reflective fabric. If you are also looking for a diffusion fabric, your choice could be determined by several factors. The original quality of the light you are diffusing and how much you want to alter/diffuse that are probably the two main factors. Most Westcott softboxes use a full stop fabric and so I would suggest you start with that one as a diffusion fabric choice for your Scrim Jim Frame.

Q: 2. Is there any difference in function or light transimission between the 0.3mm and 0.8mm versions?

A: Thicker films have more durability.

Q: 3. Can this be used with the original camera strap?

A: It is predominantly built to be used on a tripod. The strap can be attached but will be of little use. If you carry the camera around on your shoulder or what not the rain hood is basically useless. However it does a very good job in pouring rain,or in my intended purpose doing time lapse photos outside in a snow storm.

Q: 4. How many stops of light?

A: The Matthews Butterfly/Overhead Fabric - 6x6' - 1/4 Silent Gridcloth is about 0.8 f/stop light loss.

Q: 5. Does anyone know if it will attach to the Lastolite 24x24 ezybox? (which has velcro on all sides to hold the outer baffle)?

A: I don't know about Lastolite ezybox in particular, but I use them with Cowboy Studio 24x24 softboxes and just scoot the outer baffle in a bit so it's half on the velcro 1/8 and leave a little strip sticking out 1/8 to attach the grids and it works great for me.

Q: 6. what is the folded length of this soft box?

A: The folded length is about 31".

Q: 7. Is there an adapter that allows me to use this softbox that has a Godox mount, with the Godox S2 Speedlite Bracket for Bowens, or with any bowens mount flash,?Thanks in advance

A: No. The s2 bracket was not made or designed for the following strobe. The Godox Parabolic Softbox AD-S85S was made and designed for teh ad400pro.

Q: 8. Is this one sheet? Or a set of how many?

A: This is a single sheet of polarizing gel.

Q: 9. Does this fit the native Godox mount on the AD300 also?

A: Yes, grommets on the webbing, elastics on the corners and ties are included.

[Gold, Silver] I'm really pleased with this. It seems to be really well made and it sits tightly on the frame (a must for me) Best part is that the gold really is soft. I don't use a lot of gold reflector and think it can be easily overdone. This fabric just gives a nice extra bit of warmth. 5

[Gold, Silver] Does the job. Creates a beautiful diffusion. Did not measure the stops, so Iâm not sure how accurate they are. Itâs a pretty noisy fabric. 5

[Gold, Silver] Using the gold fill usually falls into 1 of 2 categories. It looks great or terrible. You need to exercise cautin in using a gold however when you need then these are brilliant. The ability to be able to reskin a fill quickly in the field especially with a big client with lots of looks to create. Very quickly you are able to change the look of your shot and you walk away with a happy client, great shots and a crew that has not been beaten into the ground with continuing light changes for lots of different looks. Being able to change the skins cuts down on a lot of time and space having to carry many different hard cards to a job. The fabric just folds up and fits in the same bag as the frames. All that adds up to money money money and more money in your pocket. Oh and a crew that are happy and want to work with you again. 5

[Gold, Silver] Rather than by a kit which included stands I don't need, I purchased 2 complete setups, buying each piece separately. Now I have 2 39X72 inch panels which I can use as either reflectors or scrims. I use the white/silver, white/black, and white/soft gold as reflective surfaces and the translucent to create a huge soft box with adjustable light distances from the scrim. 5

[Gold, Silver] Adds just a little warm glow, depending on how it is used. I use it a lot for lower warm fill on portraits, but it has many more uses. Don't need a frame always. Sometimes just the material is all you need 5
