Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will a 10 inch tablet fit inside?

A: Being that the width of the bag is about 10.04 inches, it can fit a 10 inches tablet on the inside.

Q: 2. Will this fit a Canon R5 with a 24-70 lens?

A: For the Canon R5 with a 24-70mm lens attached, the Canon ERC-E5L Rain Cover (Large) will work, but it's going to be too big. You may want to consider the smaller size, which can be found at this link: https://bhpho.to/3zGqmlJ.

Q: 3. Will a gimbal head fit in the top section? Is the bottom section large enough to hold a sigma 150-600 lens along with a nikon z6 camera?

A: Whether a gimbal can fit the top section depends on the model of gimbal head being placed there. Unfortunately, the Z6 along with the FTZ adapter and a Sigma 150-600mm would be too large for the camera compartment.

Q: 4. Can this fit a Tamron 150-600mm lens with hood reversed? If it does, I am assuming that I will have to have my Canon 7d in a separate compartment?

A: While it may be snug, if you do not use the lens mounted to your camera and you re-arrange the removable inserts in the camera equipment pouch, then yes, the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 lens would fit inside the camera equipment pouch in the Lowepro Powder Backpack 500 AW.

Q: 5. By the internal dimensions listed, it appears that I can fit a A1 attached to the 600mm. What I'm unclear of is whether the ENTIRE space is available as ONE compartment; top to bottom, rather than segmented?

A: The camera compartment section is segmented from the rest of the backpack. The camera compartment sections measures 10.83 x 6.50 x 12.20 inches.

Q: 6. Does it hold a 15" laptop?

A: Yes, there is a laptop compartment that holds a 15" laptop.

Q: 7. Does this rain cover work with any other bags or is it only orca bag specific?

A: This will work with most harnesses, as the top just folds around the straps and fixes to itself with velcro. Much quicker, easier, and more convenient than the poncho I have.

Q: 8. Would this hold a Sigma 150-600mm lens?

A: There are different models of Sigma zoom lenses that are 150-600mm, so it's impossible to give a single definitive answer to your question. As such, we'll just say that even the longest of the compartments of the Lowepro Powder Backpack 500 AW (Gray and Orange) (B&H# LOP500AWGO) is about the same length as the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens for Canon EF (B&H# SI1506005CC) which is the most popular Sigma 150-600mm that we sell. Moreover, it would be so tight a fit with the newer Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports Lens for Sony E (B&H #SI150600SE) (also available for L mount cameras) that you may not consider it a good fit at all. In the cases of at least those two especially popular Sigma 150-600mm lenses it is clear that neither will fit while attached to any camera.

Q: 9. If interior camera compartment is 12.2", is it wide enough to hold Canon 100-400mm IS II USM attached to Canon 5DS or 5D Mark IV camera?

A: Lowepro Powder Backpack 500 AW (Gray and Orange) BH #LOP500AWGO is wide enough to hold Canon 100-400mm IS II USM attached to Canon 5DS or 5D Mark IV camera.

Q: 10. What size / brand/ model avalanche probes and shovel are depicted in the product photos? What size probes and shovels will fit in the avalanche equipment section of the backpack?

A: The dimensions of the front compartment of the Lowepro Powder Backpack 500 AW are as follows. 12.20 x 0.79 x 19.68 in / 33 x 22.5 x 54 cm. There is no information currently on which items are used in the images.

[Orange] I have the previous version of this bag as well as at least another 8 bags for photo gear from Lowepro. Let me tell u my biggest gripe is that they last forever, hence not allowing me the opportunity to buy a new bag unless my gear requirements have changed.  The pockets are plentiful, love the rain cover option which Ive also used on sandy ground or dirty areas to protect the bottom of my bag. Also, its big enough to hold my Canon 5d with 24-105 lens, flash, additional medium lens, gary fong cover, xtra batteries, cords, phone, keys, etc. It is absolutely well constructed! Ive traveled with it, gotten it wet, dirty and honestly not 1 thread has come apart. Also, buy it from B&H. I did buy one of ebay and it turned out to be fake. I knew right away when the stitching started to come apart. Trust me, none of my lowepros have ever done that, they are the best and my preferred brand for pro gear!

[Nylon] I can pack a camera with zoom lens and another easily. My versatile combo is small: Either a Sony a6400 with Tamron 17-70 f2.8 and Tamron 11-20 f2.8 or an Olympus EM-5 with 12-40 f2.8 and Panasonic 8-16 f2.8-4.0. There is room for spare batteries, SD cards and cleaning cloths and a phone, with a bit of room to spare. It is (critically for me) waterproof and has a belt buckle around the back which can help keep it stabilized if tough hiking or cycling. It's a brilliant bag for a compact system. I like it so much I bought a second one.

It's comfortable, well made and handsome enough. It deserves 5-stars. Full stop. However if I could send a message to Lowepro, it'd be nice to have choices in fabric colour. Don't forget we're artsy types out here in photography land!

[Nylon] I intended to use it for my 35mm Ancient Nikon all metal equipment during short (less than 7 total miles) hykes.
I was going to take one camera and 2 lenses.
After I removed all the parts to make compartments I was able to fit 2 bodies (FM's) and 4 lenses into it with one divider. 6 film canisters fit on side pockets and a filter bag on the outside-front compartment.
Love the beast.

[0.21 lb] Picked up because I needed more room. Everything fits perfectly. It is a great day bag to carry a mirrorless camera and a wide to zoom or lens, extra batteries memory cards and a speed light. The staff at B&H were quite helpful.

[0.21 lb] Finally, I found a quality, well designed, good looking small camera bag with plenty of capacity.

I had a number of 'large' bulky camera bags but needed an easy to carry 'small' camera bag to hold my A7RIII with flash attached and two extra lenses. I didn't want to haul around a large heavy bag. The Lowepro Nova 180 is magical because it is so large on the inside. How? It is deep...it is shaped like a cube which is a highly efficient shape. The quality is equivalent to bags costly 3X as much. It has great looks. Even the center mounted handle is super comfortable and padded. It has only ONE clasp to securely open and close its cover. It is super water/dust proof and comes with a shoulder strap. It has plenty of spaces for accessories and even has expandable pockets on both side for a drink, smart phone or whatever. This Nova 1800 AW II bag is a WINNER!

[Orange] Perfect size for my kit, which alternately includes a D750, or D7500, with attached lens, at least one lens to complement the attached lens, cleaning equipment, extra batteries, memory cards. Sides of the top overlap the zippered top providing extra protection from rain and dirt, and a single 'pinch' buckle that's easy to operate with one hand keeps my gear in the bag. I highly recommend this bag.
