[Download] I've found that this is an excellent way to mount 617 negatives on an Epson 850 scanner. It holds the negatives flat, without holding them against a piece of plastic or glass.


In contrast, the Epson-provide mounts do hold the film against a piece of plastic, which tends to collect dust. To sidestep the dust, I removed the plastic plates from the Epson mounts, but then the film wasn't so flat (it tended to be a bit wavy).


With the Lomogaphy setup -- it's easy to use -- the film is flat with no dust (if I keep my workspace clean). By the way, I liked my first Lomography mount so much that I bought a second one (thanks, B&H).

[1 User] This is my second pad, the first one lasted 10 years before replacing it. Smooth surface, great for finesse mousing and hand-palm comfort. Customizable lighting is nice too.

B&H customer support went out of their way to solve my issue with this and I would highly recommend further purchases from them in the future.

I received this pack free as a promotion for an I7 processor and was actually supposed to get a different pack (intel creative software bundle). I wanted the first pack and was pretty disappointed to have received this instead so I wrote a poor review with 1 star. However a member of B&H's customer service team reached out and corrected the mistake for me.

This review is more for their awesome customer support rather than this bundle. I would personally give this maybe 3 or 4 stars but that's only because the games in this bundle aren't interesting to me (i.e. Final fantasy, zen pinball).

[1 User] Negative files require 2-groups of 2 and 2-groups of 3 for 120 film. The Asahi Pentax creates 6x7 negatives. I use an Epson scanner. The negative carrier for 120 film allows only 2 negatives to be scanned in one setting, and to avoid damage, you have to cut a strip of 3 into a strip of 2 and a strip of 1. This mask does away with all that, is easy to use, and flattens the negatives better than the Epson carriers.

[Download] Way easier than gaff tape or boards etc Quick and easy But Prob a bit pricy for what it is. The 1x6 makes a bit more sense as the larger you go the easier it is to use this than come up with a mod.

[Download] I have been a b&w portrait and landscape photographer since the early 1990s. When I had to give up my wet dark room, I began scanning all of my negatives. This process was always frustrating. The negative holders for my Epson V800 are junk. I tried wet scanning for a few years, but the process is slow and messy and the results (for me) were not worth the effort. Then I read about this little device and decided to give it a try. I have been using it for a month and it makes the scanning process simple, quick and the results are great. The negatives are kept very flat. The results in the V800 appear well focused, but I could raise the mask if I had to by affixing a little painters tape on the base. I have had zero problems with the mask damaging my negatives. I only wish I had this clever little device 15 years ago.

[Download] I was frustrated beyond belief with the film holders that came with my V600 scanner. They were trash for holding film.

Randomly came across this as a suggestion when looking for a solution to fixing newton rings; bought it and gave it a shot. It's easy to use, holds the film flat (not perfectly, but pretty close), and I would recommend this wholeheartedly to anyone scanning 120 film.
