[f/16] This is an incredible upgrade from the last series of tilt shift lenses from Canon. If this is the type of lens you shoot with - wait no more. Absolutely gorgeous color and clarity. I hope someday to get the entire line up - I love them so much.

[12] Currently using all Canon L series primes Thought they were great lenses until I purchased this one. Absolutely amazing.

[46 mm (Front)] After extensive side-by-side evaluation, as much as I wanted to be ok with the 45mm TS-E, the 50mm was just so much better I couldn't be ok with the older design. In addition to being *much* sharper, it has virtually zero chromatic aberration, better color rendering and no distortion-all issues with the 45mm lens. The 45mm also has some bad flaring issues that crop up, especially at night with light sources near the corners of the frame.

In fact, 50mm TS-E resolves better than any other L-series lens I own, including my RF 24-70, & the 24mm and 17mm EF TS-E lenses. It practically embarrasses the 24mm TS-E and definitely makes me anxious for an update to that lens. I use it adapted to the EOS R5.

My only complaints with this lens are of no fault of its own-50mm is a tough focal length for architectural photography, and the macro magnification isn't enough to scan film with. Despite those very personal complaints I still love this lens and relish any chance to bust it out.

[Manual Focus] This is a really great lens! It's razor-sharp and built like a tank. I mostly use the shift function for straight lines in architecture and interior photography, although I've also been using it to stitch together panoramas (you can basically double the resolution of your camera doing and you get less distortion in the images because of the longer focal length.) The 50mm focal length is also great for detail shots and portraits. I highly recommend it!

[Sony E] Good sharpness, build quality, and autofocus is functional. In my opinion, a better value than Sony's 50mm f/1.8.

[46 mm (Front)] I just rented this lens for a week long shoot. Coupled with a Canon 5dsr, a tripod and careful focusing in live view this combination will easily outperform the 4x5 cameras I shot with for 30 years.

[f/16] Improved in every way over the predecessor 45 mm TSE. Not earth shattering enhancements but solid incremental enhancements. Some will wonder why not use Photoshop to do something similar. That approach is vastly inferior to using a proper tilt shift or perspective control lens. We took photos with this lens and examined the sharpness in Photoshop. The results are impressive.

[1.235 lb] Mounted on a Sony a7rii the photos are crystal sharp. For a $200 dollar lens it competes any $600 lens. The focus ring and aperture rings are stiff, but I like it that way. The auto/manual switch did change from just carrying the camera, but again not a real big deal. Lovely bokeh at f1.8 in the background, giving a nice touch to the picture.
