The Glidecam X-30 Professional Camera Stabilization System with Anton Bauer Battery Plate is an advanced system designed for film and video cameras weighing from 15 to 30 lb. The system incorporates advanced engineering and precision machining.

The X-30 system allows you to walk, run, go up and down stairs, shoot from moving vehicles and travel over uneven terrain without any camera instability or shake. The complete X-30 system is comprised of a Support Arm, a Support Vest, a Support Sled, a Docking Bracket, Arm Post, and Installation Hardware.

The system works by isolating your body's motion from your camera, while your camera is balanced in a relatively motionless and isolated state. The support arm can be boomed up and down, as well as pivoted in and out, and side-to-side.  It is the combined low friction booming and pivoting action of the arm that isolates your body’s motions from the camera enabling you to create super smooth moving camera footage.

The system can help you shoot smooth imagery within its weight range, making it suitable for use in competitive production environments.

The Dyna-Elastic Dual-Articulating Support Arm incorporates 18 precision radial bearings within its machined T6 aluminum structure. The placement and implementation of these double-shielded bearings produce minimal friction and allow the X-30 Support Arm to pivot and boom smoothly, and with virtually no noise.

Four Titanium Extension Springs are employed within the Support Arm's hard coated anodized Exo-Skeletal Shells. Utilizing Class Three Levers, the energy of the Extension Springs acts upon internal Fulcrum Points, and provides the Support Arm with its lifting power. The spring tension is field adjustable and allows for varying camera weights. The X-30 Support Arm can hold a total combined Camera and Sled weight up to 50 lb.

A key design feature of the Support Arm is that it incorporates our Light-Force technology. This literally means that only a "light" force or effort is required by the operator to hold the arm at any given position, or to boom the arm up and down. It is this light-force feature that provides the operator with the optimum amount of camera buoyancy or float.

Support Arm can be setup and configured so either a left-handed or a right-handed operator can use the system.

Q: 1. Could I use HD2000 with a rebel T3i and a 18-55 lens? Is HD2000 made for heavier camera and it wouldn't work for such light kit?

A: Yes! I use a a6300 on it that is lot lighter and it works good!

Q: 2. How big is the gimbal handle? I have a friend who has an off brand flycam galaxy arm and steadycam vest says it fits 16mm gimbal handle. I know I want to order the glidecam hd2000, but won't get the vest unless it fits the off brand one he can practically give me. Anyway, does anyone know what the gimbal handle size is and if it would work with a 16mm arm post?

A: The Glidecam HD2000 gimbal handle has a 7/8/0.875 /22.225mm hole. The post from the off brand arm would be 6.225 mm too small. That is not much so maybe it will still work. Your move.

Q: 3. Do you ship to Brunei?

A: We offer international shipping on most items. Add the item to the cart online to calculate.

Q: 4. Is the handle/gimbal adjustable for shooting in inverted mode?

A: No. But you can shoot inverted just takes a little more on your part since the gimbal doesnt slide like on the graham series

Q: 5. What if I have less than 2 pounds on it?

A: Same as your questions on the HD4000. Which one are you going to purchase?

Q: 6. Will this glidecam hd2000 balance properly with a 5D Mark II? Also, the lens that I have is 24-105mm. Any help would be great!

A: This stabilizer will easily balance with the weight of a 5D mrk ii. The trick about a zoom lens, however is that the glass moves and changes the CG of the whole setup. Even though the changes are slight, you will notice a difference in the balance of the unit from 24mm to 105. You will also notice a big difference if you balance it with the lens cap on and then take it off. This is the nature of any passive stabilization system, which is why people often use prime lenses for this type of setup, or just deal with slightly less than perfect balance.

Q: 7. Will this be strong enough for a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and a 24-105mm Lens?

A: Yes, the Canon 24-105mm lens is 1.47 lbs and the Canon 5D Mark III body is 1.89 lbs. The Glidecam HD2000 will accomodate 2-6 lbs, thus making this set-up compatible.

Q: 8. Can it stand up on its own?

A: Yes, but I wouldn't leave it with a camera attached. It's very tippy and would be easy to accidentally tip over and damage your equipment.

Q: 9. I am searching for stabilizer for my canon 5d mark iii with 24-70mm for filming... don't know which is best because of the weight, xr 2000 or hd 2000?

A: HD is the up-to-date version. The fact is, if you are flying a Glidecam, you are not going to be operating your zoom or focus ring while doing so. Both hands on the Glidecam. Set it and forget it. Add a filter, adjust your balance. Forget to take the lens cap before balancing? Set your balance with a quick twist of the knob. Change lenses? Set your balance. Add a VidMic Pro? ....... Windy day? Add more weight plates to the base and....

Q: 10. Why there are many complaints regarding to the incompatibility of the Manfrotto 577 quick release plate with this glidecam?

A: My manfrotto plate doesn't stay tight on the cheese plate(The plate on the Glidecam that you put your own quick release plate on)I haven't found a solution yet. I have some gaff tape holding it tight.

[26 x 18 x 14"] I am a video producer doing mostly corporate and wedding videos. I got the GlideCam HD-2000 to bring in some more flair that you just can't get on sticks. So far I am loving it. It has a profesional look, a great feel, and results in beautiful clean, smooth footage. There is definatley a learning curve to the GlideCam, but if you are willing to take the time there are a ton of resources to help get you going. I am using it with a Canon T2i. Striped down it is actually a bit light for this rig, but with the battery grip loaded with 2 bateries, it works great, and gives me room to add in my zoom or on camera lighting without maxing the rig. I think the only downside is the learning curve. Don't buy this if you want something ready to use on set out of the box, but that said, don't buy any stabilizer if that's what you expect. This is the rig to buy for sure. I would recomend a Quick Release Plate so you can jump from your sticks to the GlideCam quickly.

[26 x 18 x 14"] The HD 2000 is awesome, first time using any glide cam/steadicam rig, and easy to use! It takes getting use to when you balance, but once you've learned how, it becomes second nature. I use it mainly for experimental videography and delivers the best quality and helps my footage greatly. HUGE difference when handheld vs. Glidecam

[26 x 18 x 14"] Shooting events for a living can make for some stressful times. With the glidecam look forward to cutting those times drastically. This is a great product and never go anywhere without it.

[26 x 18 x 14"] I use this with a Canon 7d for video. The setup was straight-forward and easy to understand (though I did track down some instructional videos on Vimeo). Fine tuning takes some time, but once it is dialed in, it is so smooth. I'm still practicing with using it (and building up more forearm strength in the process), but look forward to get it in on some projects soon.

[25 lb] We used the Glidecam at a wedding and were pleased. Only thing is you must plan on spending alot of time practicing and getting used to it. It is not for wimps that won't take the time learning how to balance weights properly and use it. Also the needed body belt that helps use the Glidecam is way too expensive. Wish it was a better price.

[25 lb] I use this with my 7d and 16-35mm lens, and got the manfrotto quick connect as people described, I took me awhile of practice to learn and understand how the glidecam works... out of the box first time user it works really well, but I noticed my glides weren't as good as I expected, with only two weights on each side and poste extended out alot, I recently added more weight, now 3 on each side and made the post shortened all the way up, and it made a massive difference, I could run without controlling it with my hand hand and it stay very stable on roll axis, compared to less weight. I know it suks for all you softcocks, but the more weight the better these babies work, and it has to perfectly dead vertical on the roll' axis which is side ways left and right...
