This 77mm Haida Greystone UV Filter 77mm Multicoatedfeatures an ultrathin aircraft-grade aluminum filter ring that is only 0.122" thick, which helps prevent vignetting on wider lenses or when stacking multiple filters. Use this filter to reduce haze in your image, which can be caused by UV contamination. The filter blocks UV without requiring exposure compensation and blocking UV can result in cleaner colors in your image. This makes the UV filter a good choice to leave on your lens all the time, as it can help protect your front element from dirt, dust, spray, and splash.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this lens do manual focus and all all the other focus modes on the a6000?

A: Yes, it does.

Q: 2. How bad is the Barrel Distortion? The lens looks quite big so I guess the Barrel Distortion may be acceptable to professional cityscape photographers. Thank you very much.

A: Barrel distortion is mild.

Q: 3. Does this lens feature linear focus or focus by wire?

A: The Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 uses a focus-by-wire linear focus motor in AF. In MF, while still focus-by-wire, the linear focus ring control for mechanical-based follow focus systems moves the focus at a constant speed in accordance with the rotating angle of the focus ring, allowing more precise MF control.

Q: 4. how does this compare to the new sigma 30mm 1.4?

A: This depends on the camera you plan to use; however, the new lines of Sigma lenses are noted for their sharpness and image quality. You will also have a slightly faster lens with a f/1.4 aperture.

Q: 5. Have any of you tested this Z 20 mm prime (or the Z 24 mm 1.8) to the 20 mm on the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S Lens, particularly for astro images? I'm a big fan of the old Ai-S 20 mm and 24 mm lenses and am wondering if the 20 mm and 24 mm focal distances on the zoom are as good, or nearly as good as the new Z primes of the same focal lengths. I'm debating between the primes and the zoom. Thanks for your time, Andy

A: We have not tested the lenses side by side for optical performance but based on customer feedback so far, more people are using the 20mm f1.8 for astrophotography than the 14-24mm.

Q: 6. Does this have coma in the corners when wide open at 1.8?

A: According to Camera Labs (https://www.cameralabs.com/nikon-z-20mm-f1-8-s-review) The Lens very good overall and reccomended, But does exhibit Longitudinal colour aberrations and magenta haloing.in the corners when shooting in Full Format DX. In APS=C mode performance is excellent.

Q: 7. Will this Lumix S 50mm lens work on the GX7 and GH3 models?

A: This Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 Lens is for Panasonic and Leica cameras which use the L-mount. An alternative to work with Micro 4/3 series cameras like the Panasonic GH3 and GX7 is the Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH. Lens, BH # PA2517. https://bhpho.to/3P6IS9M

Q: 8. Can you use filters on this lens?

A: Yes. This lens takes 77mm filters.

Q: 9. Hi all! Is this lens is good for portrait and landscape ?

A: Normally I would consider a 35mm too short for portraits, but with a 1.5 crop (making it a 50mm on Sony NEX cameras) I think it is good. For landscapes, it could be great in some instances, but I think you will often find yourself getting plenty of exercise trying to frame your subject. It is my go-to around the house or museum day lens.

Q: 10. Great lens, but for what camera? Nothing is mentioned on your site. Need a lot more info!

A: The Voigtlander Ultron 75mm f/1.9 Lens is a Leica M-mount lens design but can be used with 3rd party adapters to adapt to different camera bodies.

[Multi Coated] Used this filter for the first time on a trip to England, Scotland, and Wales. Had a number of opportunities to use this filter. Shot both with the filter on and with it off my 24-120 f/4 s Nikon lens. While the images without the filter looked good I could see an improvement in the clarity of the images taken with the filter on. It seemed to do a good job of filtering out some of the ambient noise. It also adds a little color to the image that I find very pleasing changing you images from a standard night scene into something much more creative. You do have to remember to take it off when you switch to daylight shooting.

[Multi Coated] My Nikon Z 50mm f1.8 S lens was too clinical for some types of photo situations. Adding just a little bit of character to a photo to fit the overall theme, without losing any sharpness.

[0.165 lb] It has no color cast, like others said. It fits in the NiSi 100x100mm holder. I chose this one over the NiSi CPL because it is as good but $70 less. The quality is the same. I've compared both and this Haida does the job very well. It is about a stop and a half less light as advertised, so it works great with 6-10 stop NDR filters when shooting real estate videos. Highly recommend it.

[Glass] This filter is being used on a Hasselblad HCD24 lens and a Nikkor Z 14-24mm lens to good avail. There is no color cast and I cannot detect any degradation in sharpness. I can't say anything about longevity right now, but the manufacturing quality looks promising. This and a ND1.8-Stops filter are my first products from this company. Time will tell if there will be more. I can recommend this filter.
