Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Weight capacity. How heavy of a camera is this arm rated to hold?

A: Not sure what the official specs are but we support a Thermography camera and motorized pan/tilt mechanism from it. The combination weighs about 5 pounds. The closer the arm is to the wall the stronger it will be, and of course the more horizontal extension used it won't support as much. The lock knob can be cranked down pretty tight, and the arm and wall plate are very solid (typical for Manfrotto).

Q: 2. Can you remove the locking pins?

A: Yes, the SmallRig HawkLock H21 Quick Release Rosette Magic Arm locating pins can be detached and removed.

Q: 3. Just out or curiosity. Are the company name and serial number printed on the arm or is it a sticker?

A: The name is painted on.

Q: 4. Will this REALLY hold 6.6 lbs. if it is extended all the way out horizontally 20" with the weight at the end?

A: Yes the load capacity would be based on the full extension of the arm, so it is capable of holding up to 6.6 lbs.

Q: 5. Manfrotto 143 vs 244? Pros/Cons of each?

A: Nothing its the same magic are the only difference is that the 143 comes with accessories that are very much needed in order to complete a kit.

Q: 6. Can this model be attached to the Easy Link on the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 ?

A: The Manfrotto 3/8" + 3/8" Adapter Spigot, B&H # MA125 can allow this arm to connect to the Easy-Link on select Manfrotto tripods. https://bhpho.to/2QlhTJZ

Q: 7. Hi. How long is the arm end to end, not counting the connectors on each end?

A: Not counting the connectors, you're looking at about 17.25

Q: 8. Will this support a Canon 1D MK4 with a 70-200mm lens?

A: That setup can support no more than 6.6 lbs.If you mean the canon 5d Mark IV and lens it is about 5.28 lbs combined. It is too close to the maximum in my opinion and at the least will tip over.I would not recommend that set up with that camera and lens.

Q: 9. I can adjust the locking handle with two allen wrenches, but how do I adjust the tension at the ball joints at the ends?

A: The ball joint tension can't be adjusted. I would recommend not placing anything over 6.61 lbs. Which is the rated payload.

Q: 10. how long is the arm at full extension?

A: Fully assembled clamped to table.....vertical distance from table top to top of camera mount surface.......21.5

[1.3 lb] A 7 Elvid on camera monitor I bought had a ball head that did not fit my camera hot (cold) shoe. This arm was recommended for use with both the monitor and for a camera skate I purchased earlier. Two allow me to monitor the image the video camera is seeing from about 7' closer to the subject than to the camera.

[Stainless Steel] I'm using the Camvate 11-inch articulating arm to hold a Logitech Brio webcam straight down over my Roland keyboard workstation (music.) I needed something secure enough and that would let me orient the camera from the perspective of the person playing the keyboard. I attached the articulating arm with a super clamp to the equivalent or an overhead shelf. For something lightweight like the Brio webcam, it worked like a charm. I did not use the cold shoe mount or the connector that came with the articulating arm, so I cannot comment on those. So far so good, I like it. Btw, it is little, just in case you were wondering.

[1] I use this arm with my Delvcam 10 monitor. It holds up no problems whether its battery powered or plugged in. I also have connected it to a gopro and a back up camera mounted to my tripod. Very versatile....It holds my 160 LED light as well, and allows me to configure it the way I want.

[1.3 lb] i bought this to replace some less expensive articulating arms (which were okay, but wouldn't hold the weight well, would often spin loose, etc.). i got one to hold my Blackmagic Video Assist and another to hold my Zoom H6, everything on board my shoulder rig for my BMPCC 6K. one man studio. i combined these with the Zhiyun-Tech TransMount Quick Setup Adapter quick-release mechanism for quick gear swaps.
