Add an unfathomably rare studio legend to your recording setup without breaking the bank with the EQP-KT from Klark Teknik, a single-channel, 2 RU audio processor based on the famous Pultec EQP-1A. Offering 2-band EQ control with seven switchable frequency points, variable Q control, and real 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes, the EQP-KT performs just like its inspiration.

The discrete, Class-A analog circuitry provides the kind of musical tonal shaping the Pultec is famous for, with warm bass, smooth mids, and bright, airy treble. Just like the original model, the EQP-KT sports inductor-based EQ control. You also get independent Boost and Cut controls for enormous creative control over sculpting your tones. The Bypass feature cuts out the EQ section for easy A/B comparisons when mixing or mastering. Balanced XLR I/O exploits quality Midas transformers for pristine signal integrity and minimal noise. Finally, the internal power supply is autosensing, ensuring global power compatibility.

The EQP-KT draws inspiration from the legendary Pultec EQP-1A equalizer, which was first produced in the early 1950s. Since then, Pultec equalizers have been prized for their smooth musical sound, and audio engineers have utilized them at all stages of the recording process, from tracking to mastering. While vintage Pultec units are extremely rare and expensive, the EQP-KT is affordable and designed for the 21st century.

At the heart of the EQP-KT is a vintage Class-A circuit design constructed from the highest-quality discrete components, all of which meet or exceed the Pultec EQP-1A’s original specifications. EQP-KT owes its characteristic warmth to a set of premium, hand-selected 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes. This time-tested combination provides ultralow-noise analog output with the ideal balance of tight, warm bass, silky-smooth midrange and brilliant, airy treble.

Ever since its formation in the 1970s, Midas has had a long history of innovation and leadership in the world of audio mixing consoles. Employed by the most famous touring acts and installations worldwide, legendary Midas consoles such as the XL4 and Heritage H3000 quickly became industry standards. Klark Teknik is proud to incorporate Midas-designed input and output transformers for the ultimate in high-quality audio reproduction in both live and studio environments.

EQP-KT provides the kind of tone-sculpting flexibility that you simply won’t find on the average equalizer, such as the ability to boost and cut specific frequency content simultaneously. This functionality is a product of EQP-KT’s two-band design, which allows the boost and cut controls to work independently of one another, for incredibly flexible shelving.

Both the LF Boost/Cut and HF Boost controls provide 7 frequency selections, along with a variable broad-bandwidth midrange control. Finally, EQP-KT’s HF Cut control lets you dial in the perfect amount of air to add a touch of finesse to your top-end content.

The EQP-KT sports more than just an EQ path, it also includes Midas I/O transformers and a makeup gain amplifier. When you flip the onboard switch to Bypass, the only section that is removed from the signal path is the equalizer. This allows you to continue to get the benefits of the Midas transformers and makeup gain amp without touching frequencies.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. It seems that if you point a camera on this mount any other way but North, it would track the wrong way. Am I wrong?

A: Yes. If you are in the northern hemisphere, the iOptron SkyGuider Pro EQ Camera Mount needs to be pointed to true north as the first step in the alignment process.

Q: 2. Will this work on the AVX mount. I need a total of 17lbs and this would fill the bill, if it would fit the AVX?

A: Sorry but Celestron does not say what the diameter of the hole is.

Q: 3. Can I rotate the shaft and have adjustments when the guider is running?

A: The manual adjustments can only be made prior to running the guider.

Q: 4. Is the battery replaceable?

A: Yes it is user replaceable. Here is a link to the replacement battery: https://bhpho.to/33qO9Rg

Q: 5. How do get Integrated AutoAlign illuminated polar scope to turn on? I did remove the cap and tried adjusting the LED level.

A: In the manual page 8 figure 5 shows the no off switch.

Q: 6. Does this stack up in Windows PC so that i can get 48+ bidirectional channels in 96khz?

A: No stacking. The DN9630 features a single AES50 connector, while the single USB 2.0 port connects directly to a Windows/Mac computer, offering up to 48 bidirectional channels at 48 kHz and 24 bidirectional channels at 96 kHz sample rates

Q: 7. What is the deference between the models # 93665 and #93664?

A: Each edge is slightly different depending on the model of your telescope. This wedge is NexStar 6/8SE and Evolution single-fork alt-az mounts. The Pro wedge is for larger telescopes up to 11 inches.

[Silver] Nice set of mixer features at this price point. 3-Band EQ with -30dB does a good job of killing bass. The channel faders are smooth, seems like they're log faders so you have good control at the top half of the range. The crossfader feels alright, but is somewhat noisy toward the ends of the range using the gradual CF slope. The noise is less apparent with the sharp CF slope. I tend to use the channel faders for mixing, so I can avoid using the gradual CF slope. Overall, I think this mixer is a great value.

[+21 dBu] This Graphic Equalizer works great, easy to set up and has intuitive controls. This unit replaced another brand that had failed. The best part is that ART makes great equipment that is 1/3 to 1/2 less than other brands with the same features. This is the second ART 351 that I have used and would recommend this unit without reservations. This unit is installed in a medium-size church to control feedback on the public address system.

[Silver] I purchased the dbx 231s primarily to enhance my experience playing 78 rpm records. Even with a proper turntable, cartridge and stylus, the issue that remains is the fact that 78s were produced with a variety of equalization curves (that's plural!). A current standard phono preamp with RIAA equalization cannot properly reproduce the 78 recordings. There are a number of off the shelf devices designed to solve this problem, ranging from quite inexpensive (and useless!) to astronomically pricey and not much in between. Following up on some thoughtful advice and some of my own getting into the weeds on this, I'm finding that the graphic equalizer is a satisfying solution.

[<300 Ohms] I have this as the sound processor for my kitchen system of JBL subwoofer and 2 JBL active monitors. I use it regularly and have had zero issues with its operation since putting it in service April 2017, now September 2022. This is not a critical listening area but it gets a lot of use. I detect no added noise. All controls work like new. I also have an older 215s and it too works just fine after years of service.

[>600 Ohms] This thing is well worth the price, as we use a separate computer to mix our broadcast audio through a DAW. This thing allows us to have that computer in our broadcast studio with no loss of audio quality! Much better than running 100ft of USB, if it would even send anything at that range.

[AC Input] Needed to fix feedback problems with Cantor microphones in a large church. This fixed the problem and we were able to take the boomyness (is that a word?) out of the mids as well. Would definitely recommend for simplicity and price.

[Silver] I purchased this card because I long suspected the card that came installed in my M32r was no good. I do a lot of professional multitrack recordings and was having a lot of trouble getting my computer and the console to read each other. It would take a lot of plugging, unplugging, and replugging, reboots of the console and the computer, and rebooting pro tools a million times before they would read each other. I replaced the card with this one from B&H and it fires up first time, every time. No problems.

[<300 Ohms] I’m very happy to own these speakers. I’ve done several events with just the Bluetooth capabilities. Not only can you stream your music but also control all your audio sounds levels with app and to top it off, you can pair 2 speakers to run in stereo via Bluetooth. I have controlled my music, mics and speakers wirelessly from my iPhone/iPad. I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on sound and it never fails that someone will come up to me to ask what brand speakers I’m using. Turbosound is not a well known commercial brand but don’t let that fool you. These provide excellent bass and mid/high sound. My only con is the weight but the sound will make you forget about that. For all the features ,well built and durability , they are well worth the price , seriously.
