The RF Venue DISTRO5 HDR UHF Antenna Distribution System 470-698MHzfrom RF Venue DISTRO5 HDR UHF Antenna Distribution System 470-698MHzis a high-dynamic-range active antenna splitter designed to split the RF signal from two remotely mounted antennas and distribute it to up to 5 wireless receivers via coaxial cables (antennas, receivers, and cables available separately). In addition, the unit features a DC power input, allowing you to power it from a DC battery input for location work, and a DC power output, allowing you to power up to 8 receivers or compatible 12 VDC devices using a DC Octopus cable (available separately).

The all-metal, half-rack splitter includes long and short rack ears along with mounting hardware. For larger setups, you can cascade an additional DISTRO5 HDR unit (available separately) for a single 1 RU rack space of RF distribution for up to 9 receivers.

Q: 1. I have a PSC NP-1 Battery Cup with a 4-pin Hirose Connector that I use to power my SD 633 and F8n Mixer. I was told that battery cup was specifically designed to work with the PSC Power Star Mini Distribution System. Would it be able to work with the RA BDSv4U as well? Or would I need to buy a battery cup with specifically from Remote Audio? Not sure if the two products had to be uniformly from the same company?

A: The connecton is TA4 on the Remote Audio gear. so your PSC NP-1 cup with a 4-pin Hirose connector will not be compatible. The Remote Audio 24" BDS Input Cable with NP-1 Battery Cup to TA4F, BH #REBDSNPADW is he appropriate cup for this item.

Q: 2. Is there a cable that would connect this to a camera dummy battery?

A: We are not aware of dummy battery cables for this product.

Q: 3. Are these Bluetooth compatible.

A: No, they are not Bluetooth compatible. They are paired to the RS 175 transmitter system through their own frequency.

Q: 4. is this price for a pair or single

A: This antenna is a single unit.

Q: 5. We ordered this as a replacement part but it is the 6 model and we need the 12 . I do not see the 12 on your site, is it available?

A: Yes it is parallax free. Where the parallax turret would normally be is the adjustment for reticle color and brightness are selected using a dedicated side turret.

Q: 6. Does it also have a microphone?

A: The Sennheiser HDR 175 Headset for RS 175 System BH #SEHDR175BK does not have a microphone.

Q: 7. Does this work with lectrosonics, sennheisers and zaxcom receivers and transmitters? And how exactly is it used?

A: The PSC UHF Log Periodic Antenna will provide the users of UHF wireless microphones a simple and elegant passive antenna solution for field use. This passive antenna from PSC provides coverage from 450MHz to 900MHz. This antenna offers a typical gain of 4.5dB over that of a dipole antenna, thus providing added range to your radio microphones in the field. The antenna features a robust design using a heavy duty 0.125 (3.175mm) fiberglass substrate. The PSC UHF Log Periodic Antenna is produced as a skeletal design. This design allows for lower wind loading in the field. The entire antenna is coated in a water resistant textured coating for years of trouble free operation in the field. In addition, we have equipped this antenna with the most robust Molex brand BNC connecter we could source. Mounting is accomplished via an industry standard 3/8 -16. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------Antenna Placement:Your PSC UHF Log Periodic Antenna should be mounted up and away from all of your other sound equipment. The antenna should be pointed toward the actor worn transmitters. Typically we advise that you place the antenna up at least 6 to 10 feet (2-3 meters) above your sound cart for best performance. The antenna can be mounted using an industry standard 3/8-16TPI threaded base.

Q: 8. Is it compatible with Shure ADX5D-JB (806-810MHz)?

A: No. The PSC RF Six Pack Slot Receiver has an operational frequency range of 470 to 618 MHz and 940 MHz to 960 MHz for use in North America. It is not compatible with a Shure Axient ADX5D-JB Dual-Channel Wireless Receiver that operates in the 806 to 810 MHz frequency band.

Q: 9. Do these work over Dante?

A: This Shure PSM 900 Wireless Personal Monitor System with SE425-CL Earphones kit does not provide any Dante connectivity.

Q: 10. How long of a cable run do you need to start thinking about using this?

A: Depends on the type of cable being used. Basic RG8X cable with passive antennas would be 25 feet. Higher quality cabling like RG213 or 9913 can be run up to 100 feet.

[5A, 12 VDC] This antenna is so worth the price, and I am so glad to have found the RF Venue system. I used to struggle with theatre production using numerous antennas and dealing with interference in crowded frequency locations, and this antenna paired with the RF Venue Distro4 system solves that problem and gives me total peace of mind.

[5A, 12 VDC] This antenna paired with a Shure UA844+SWB and a pair of Sennheiser EW-DX receivers for four channels of wireless mics. Reception from the RF Venue Diversity Fin is exceptional and provided dropout free performance where the antenna was indoors pointed toward and outdoor Wedding Ceremony location - line of sight through glass/walls at about 100 feet with two lav transmitters in groom and officiant's pockets and a EW-DX handheld on a stand. Not ideal re lav placement but very typical. Signal received strength was almost 4/5 or full bars as indicated on the EW-DX receivers with a 10mw output.

I like this over the Shure LDPA's since I can place this on a tall weighted base mic stand vs other antenna / stand combinations.

This setup is SOLID! I would buy this antenna again.

[12 VDC] All of our microphones work well through this unit. We don't use them over a great distance, but our receivers are in a metal rack, so we need external antennae. These are doing well.
