Free yourself from the woes of tone suck with Bonafide Buffer from TC Electronic, a highly compact, all-analog buffer pedal that helps to preserve your tone with ultralong cable runs and highly complex pedalboards. With the high-quality analog buffer, you'll reduce noise and save your treble.

The Bonafide Buffer pedal converts the 1-megohm Hi-Z input into a low-impedance 100-ohm output, allowing you to maintain your signal integrity when it has to pass through many inputs and outputs or very long cables. Bonafide Buffer utilizes 9 VDC input via standard 9V power supplies (not included), but thanks to an intelligent bypass relay, the pedal will automatically switch to a true bypass when a loss of input power is detected. This allows you to continue using the pedal passively without interrupting your performance. Made from durable diecast metal, the Bonafide Buffer will stand the test of time.

Although many guitarists today run their tone through a plethora of FX pedals, processors, drives, modelers, and amps, this comes with a distinct disadvantage: high frequencies. As an electrical signal travels down very long cables and many different input and output circuits, it begins to lose integrity due to electrical resistance. This can result in a significant loss of tone, especially in high frequencies, making your guitar sound worse.

With a buffer, extra voltage is used to boost the signal's integrity, reducing the resistance of the signal as it leaves the pedal, so it can more easily withstand these long transmissions. Thus, more of your high frequencies are preserved, allowing your full, honest guitar tone to be processed or amplified in its full glory.

Not only does a buffer maintain your tone, it also helps to improve clarity by reducing noise. The Bonafide Buffer sports a >112 dB signal-to-noise ratio and a total harmonic distortion of just 0.001%. These are very low noise specs and ensure that your guitar signal will arrive at its destination in full detail.

The Bonafide Buffer is currently in use by several professional guitarists including:

  • Ryan Monroe (Band of Horses)
  • Vernon Reid (Living Colour)
  • Henning Pauly (EytschPi42)
  • Joe Perry (Aerosmith)

Q: 1. Can this flash be triggered in multi mode (rapid continuous shooting) by FC-WR commander?

A: The multi-mode can only be used while the flash is on an Olympus camera that supports this function.

Q: 2. Can you enable peaking on the evf?

A: Focus peaking will work with the Leica Visoflex 2 Electronic Viewfinder as it is electronic.

Q: 3. Would this work with a Sony FX6?

A: Yes, the Z CAM 2.89" EVF101 Electronic Viewfinder could connect and work when using the HDMI, or SDI outputs on the Sony FX6.

Q: 4. Will this EVF work with the RED V Raptor?

A: In order to use the Z CAM 2.89" EVF101 Electronic Viewfinder on the RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR 8K VV DSMC3 Camera, you will need to convert the SDI signal to HDMI with a powered micro converter.

Q: 5. This EVF is compatible with Sigma FP (Original) or only with FP L?

A: From looking at the image and having the Sigma FP in hand, it does look like the pin configuration and ports will match up, but we do not have one in stock yet to test unfortunately.

Q: 6. does this enable you to do true TTL shooting?

A: My experience with EVF2 is with M (240). It effectively allow you to shoot TTL without the mirror slap. It has all the functions of the LCD screen at the back of the camera. It is similar to the optical viewfinder of a DSLR. The negative is that it occupies the flash shoe thereby restricted to ambient light unless you get and SCA cable and the handgrip. Q: 8. Do you have a foot switch for this unit?

A: Yes, works flawlessly. Essential for hands free dodging and burning.

Q: 9. will it fog?

A: The LCD portion itself will not, but the glass on the eyepiece can be susceptible to fogging if exposed to very extreme temperature changes... only in very extreme situations.

Q: 10. Can this viewfinder desqueeze internally for use with anamorphic lenses, if your camera not support desqueezing?

A: The manufacturer does not explicitly define anamorphic desqueeze as an option.

[Analog] First, I love this item . I have a Roland GR55 now. When I have access to AC power, I have a ball with it.
But,
I busk in my town’s Main Street where AC power is not available. Granted, the SY-1 isn’t as sophisticated and the GR 55, but now I can expand my guitars palette of tones.

I had been searching for this item for months. All the typical outlets kept pushing their in stock dates forward in time. I even made a purchase of the SY-1 on eBay, only to have the seller cancel the sale for no apparent reason.
I searched again and saw it listed on B&H. It said it was in stock. I called and was told it was in inventory. A few days later it was in my hands .

Cannot Be too positive about my experience with B&H. They came thru..hands down.

I have shopped with them before, but now, they are my first go to place for music gear.

THANK YOU!!

[100 Ohms] Sounds great. Compact (doesn't take up much desk space.). Easy to program. I use set-lists and scenes as a work-around for lack of snapshots. Compared to my Helix LT - much less expensive; much smaller and less heavy; BUT no snapshots; no programming with computer connection (HxEdit); takes a bit of effort to type on keyboard screen due to size. I like it.

[0.385 lb] I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes.
B&H had the best deal available and as always they provide excellent service. Thank you B&H. I'll Be Back, lol

[100 Ohms] For a pedal that's been around for years, it's very high quality/price ratio. Probably the king of all the budget multi-effect options out there. The interface does take some getting used to, but the sounds you can create with it are solid.

[0.385 lb] Exactly what we've come to expect from Boss/Roland. Pedal just works. Sounds good and built like a tank. Easy on batteries when you don't want to run power. Priced right.
