[Standard] I've had my Lyra 2 for almost 3 years. No issues with the sound quality at all. It's a great and truly professional sounding piece of kit..hence the 5 star rating. Im only writing this review to let potential buyers know that from Prism's own lips, they have zero intention of developing the RJ45/AVB capability that this box has (thus the specifications as listed are a bit misleading). That was kind of disappointing news to find out, as this is a very pricey USB 2.0 box. Would've been nice if they tried to future-proof it a little for us.

[Standard] Sound is on par with the famous name PCIe card, best of all I don't have to uninstall drivers/software then reinstall every few boots like I did with that expensive card. Sound is def better than the OEM/Intel/Realtek offerings--not to mention it's a snap moving from 1pc to another (try that with an internal card)...I downloaded the StarTech zip file rather than the enclosed CD, installation was a breeze, the program has plenty of tweaks to keep me busy. i should have bought this usb StarTech years ago!

[Standard] Excellent piece of equipment to use as an adapter or a full blown sound card for computers.

[Download] There are a few solid bag options out there for the 664, but this one is pretty spectacular. Lots of clever cable routing, modular enough for different load-outs. Fully loaded with; central power, wireless boom, 5 lavs, camera hops & separate IFBs for video village and boom, the only cable that ever leaves the bag is my headphone lead. No more rats nest of cables every time I move one thing around in a rush. I've taken to keeping it fully loaded in a pelican case, when I arrive on set, I'm ready to go. No more waiting on sound... Mine's in its 4th year of service and still going strong. Pairs nicely with the Versa-Flex HS1N harness for those longer days on the run, or set it up sideways on a few pelican cases and kick back for talking head interviews. This thing feels like a sound cart with a shoulder strap.

[Standard] If you are in a situation where you need inline stereo volume control this is the only unit worth considering. Build quality is a straight 10 of 10, audio signal path is completely pure and the chicken head knob gives it a tactile, classic feel. This is one of the best units I have ever used for volume control. The signal path is pure, the stepped volume adjustment ensures your LR signals are ALWAYS attenuated the same and introduces NO distortion. Forget about scratchy wiper pots, forget about wobbly knobs, no need for a clunky wall wart power supply just a volume knob when and where you need it. the Mute/Dim/Mono features are great editions to the unit as well.

[Download] This unit is pricey but worth every pennie, I was contemplating Metric Halo ULN-8, UAD Apollo and Apogee symphony, went through many online reviews with audio as well as flac downloads, they all sound great, although the proper way of testing is side by side with the same audio file, and Prism really did it, the preamps and converters are superb, the imaging is perfect, the highs are crystal, prestine, the bass is very much unique on these units, I've had the pleasure of listening with Prism DA-2 and the curve roundness on the low end is very very similar, if you're serious and really dont care about the plugins, this is the only unit in it's class, nothing really comes close. Because of the Dante ports (card sold separately, one can bypass the USB connection, and plugged it into your ethernet port with the audinate driver also sold separately. I'm sold on this, in fact the studio I record in went ahead and purchased 3 of these units.

[Standard] I wasn't happy with the whole Realtek/Windows 10 thing & the fight to get a 5.1 speaker set working properly. I recently bought a set of Logitech Z607 speakers and have been disappointed with the output. There were flashes of goodness but it was inconsistent. The main complaint was the subwoofer seemed pretty capable but never seemed to get utilized. After hunting around a bit for sound cards, I came across this one. I just received it today, and following the advice posted by DaveE1 on this site got things plugged in & tuned up. Now the drum and bass actually has some bass (OK, the speaker set isn't great, but at least it's being fully utilized now).
