The set also provides four rechargeable LiPo batteries, one ten-port charger, and a small soft-side case. The Pro16 version of the UltraLITE line-up features a long 10-hour battery life and a 1/2-mile line-of-site operating range.

UltraLITE Pro16 all-in-one wireless headsets can link up to 16 users in full duplex without a base station or hub. Designed with a lightning-fast microprocessor that provides two channels of simultaneous hands-free communication, the Pro16 allows separate groups to speak privately. Connect your entire crew in a full-duplex conference with the simple touch of a button. The Pro16 talking pattern is easily modified in the field or expanded to accommodate your changing needs.

The Pro16 has been engineered with Active Frequency Hopping technology. This specialty wireless technique allows the headsets to monitor the surrounding environment and automatically switch channels whenever necessary to easily avoid interference. The operating range has been increased three-fold to over a 1/2 mile line of sight.

The UltraLITE headsets have the transceiver built right inside the earcup, eliminating headset wires and belt-worn radios. They provide two-way voice communication and the microphone arm can swivel 270°, allowing you to wear the mic on the left or right side. Raising the mic boom into the up position automatically mutes the microphone.

A fortified mic assembly, featuring internal metal construction and stainless attachment hardware is now standard. The new deluxe earpad is extra wide, soft, and weather resistant. New, large-capacity lithium-ion polymer batteries provide an impressive run time of up to 10 hours.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How can a camera operator use this headset while trying to monitor audio on camera?

A: The Eartec UltraLITE 4-Person Full-Duplex Wireless Intercom System does not allow audio monitoring from a camera.

Q: 2. Is the system applicable for outdoor use by for example crane operators and similar job functions?

A: The Eartec UL3D UltraLITE 3-Person Headset System is designed for broadcast and stage production applications. We do offer two way radios from Kenwood and Motorola which are more suitable products for crane operators. The challenge will be isolation headsets. Those will need to be custom made.

Q: 3. I need a communication system for El Salvador. Does it work for me in the country?

A: That will depend on if the 1920-1930 mhz band is legal to use in El Salvador. We suggest confirming that with your local government before purchasing the units.

Q: 4. Can this specific system work outside United states

A: The Eartec HUB742MXS UltraLITE 7-Person HUB Intercom System with Max 4G Single Headset (USA). Will also work in Canada and Mexico.

Q: 5. What's the difference between a master headset and the others?

A: The master headset functions in the same manner as the Hub and contains the electronic components that control the remote headsets.

Q: 6. Can you add two more headsets on a 7- piece to make the system into 9-piece system?

A: Yes, you can add two more wireless headsets for a total of 8 wireless and 1 wired. That is the limit.

Q: 7. I will be using these for my camera operators in a live church production with loud music. My concern is whether they will be able to hear the director during Praise and Worship?

A: Yes. With double-ear headsets, there will be isolation from the Praise and Worship.

Q: 8. Are communications contained in the earpieces (no bleed in a quiet church environment)?

A: The sound would be contained in the earpiece. The Eartec UltraLITE systems are made specifically for situations where the communication must be silent in the room, such as film and video shoots, or theater productions.

Q: 9. Is it possible to combine 2 sets to get 8 headset working together?

A: No, it is not possible to combine two UL4S systems. Eartec's fully wireless UltraLITE headset system allows one master headset to be used with up to four remote headsets. If you require more than five headsets, you will want to use Eartec's HUB mini base station which allows use of up to eight wireless UltraLITE headsets and one wired headset. For a system with eight wireless headsets, the best option is the Eartec HUB8S UltraLITE 8-Person HUB Intercom System - USA (B&H # EAHUB8S) which includes eight wireless single-ear headsets and an additional wired headset (sold separately) can be added for use with the HUB base.

Q: 10. does the system have audio in/out to pair with a wired sistem? I mean a clearcom 4w intercom

A: Unfortunately it does not pair with a wired system.

[16] Broke in this four station system on a middle school musical and it worked like a champ. Clear crew comms for a reasonable cost. Can't speak to how durable they will be but they started out as exactly what we needed.

[950 mAh] Coming from the broadcast world, doing small to medium events. Really wanted to get away from wires and belt packs. These were the only cost-effective realistic solution. They worked great. We used them day in and day out. The batteries charge fast. The range was good. If you get enough people and enough staging in the way, of course you're going to lose reception over a couple hundred feet and how many walls. But I never felt like they were oversold in terms of range. I love these things, they made our work lives easier and better every day.

[13.1 x 9.2 x 7"] These are great!

Flip down to talk.  Flip up to mute your mic.

There is one hub belt  that you hook up to 1 wired headset.  The other headsets are headset only, so you can listen and talk no belt pack needed.

Comes with a bag and 8 battery charger.

[Headband] These worked great, but there is one minor issue with the remote head sets. The master head set has a slider switch to turn it on or off. The remote head sets have a rubber push button that you have to hold down for say 3-5 seconds to shut the head set off. When you insert a battery in to the remote head sets they turn on. You have to make sure to turn the remote head set off when you insert the battery. It's very easy to put a fresh battery in a remote head set, not turn it off and then forget about it and have it drain the battery.

[16] These are great coms on a budget. I had an issue with one of them pairing out of the box. The Eartec customer service number is right on the soft carrying case, they walked me through the programming process in a couple minutes to get all four up and running. I will definitely add another headset and down the road upgrade to the hub when I need it.

[Yes] I read multiple reviews of the Eartec UltraLITE Headsets prior to purchasing.

My first impression after unboxing was that these feel more like a toy than a production environment tool. The $22 battery replacement cost also is a bit of a red flag. It's a proprietary battery so third party batteries aren't an option.

In the past I've had to rely on hand signals or my production team members actually paying attention to move from live interviews to prerecorded scenes during livestreams. Not anymore.

These simply work, despite their amateur appearance. Since they operate on the 1.9 GHz spectrum, I've never experienced dropouts or interference when in use.

You can't toss them around like regular headphones. They not as well built as headphones. Keep them in the protective case when not in use and remove the batteries as recommended when not in use.

I'm sure other companies make a better built headset, but at a much higher cost.

If you treat them with care and follow the recommendations, these should provide you with several years of worry-free operation.

[13.1 x 9.2 x 7"] I wasn’t expecting from a system at this price. I usually use a ClearComm system costing $12K. I even asked B&H if the product could be returned if not satisfied. I had 30-days. I received the 5-set Comm System 3-days prior to a 4 Cam shoot in a theater setting. I recorded for 3-days in a very loud environment with all actors and orchestra on wireless com’s. The Eartec. System worked flawlessly. Communication was crystal clear with plenty of volume. Battery life easily covered a Three hour show and set up. Headsets are comfortable. Build is very plastic like so not sure about durability. But I am definitely keeping this set. A great buy so far and at a fraction of the cost of a Telex/Clearcom system. I purchased the single ear configuration. During louder parts of the musical room noise made it difficult to hear. However, an earplug in the left ear solved that issue immediately. I would recommend this product to any production team.
