The Pro16 version of the UltraLITE line-up features a long 10-hour battery life and a 1/2-mile line-of-site operating range.

UltraLITE Pro16 all-in-one wireless headsets can link up to 16 users in full duplex without a base station or hub. Designed with a lightning-fast microprocessor that provides two channels of simultaneous hands-free communication, the Pro16 allows separate groups to speak privately. Connect your entire crew in a full-duplex conference with the simple touch of a button. The Pro16 talking pattern is easily modified in the field or expanded to accommodate your changing needs.

The Pro16 has been engineered with Active Frequency Hopping technology. This specialty wireless technique allows the headsets to monitor the surrounding environment and automatically switch channels whenever necessary to easily avoid interference. The operating range has been increased three-fold to over a 1/2 mile line of sight.

The UltraLITE headsets have the transceiver built right inside the earcup, eliminating headset wires and belt-worn radios. They provide two-way voice communication and the microphone arm can swivel 270°, allowing you to wear the mic on the left or right side. Raising the mic boom into the up position automatically mutes the microphone.

A fortified mic assembly, featuring internal metal construction and stainless attachment hardware is now standard. The new deluxe earpad is extra wide, soft, and weather resistant. New, large-capacity lithium-ion polymer batteries provide an impressive run time of up to 10 hours.

A: Yes, the AU versions from Eartec can be used in New Zealand.

Q: 2. What is the NRR rating of the ul4s ultralite headset?

A: That information has not been published yet.

Q: 3. I need a communication system for El Salvador. Does it work for me in the country?

A: That will depend on if the 1920-1930 mhz band is legal to use in El Salvador. We suggest confirming that with your local government before purchasing the units.

Q: 4. I will be using these for my camera operators in a live church production with loud music. My concern is whether they will be able to hear the director during Praise and Worship?

A: Yes. With double-ear headsets, there will be isolation from the Praise and Worship.

Q: 5. Can i pair a older UltraLITE remote to a newer UltraLITE HD main? I can't get the older UltraLite into pair mode where it's blinking blue/red.

A: You may need to clear the main headset before you can pair the remote headset. Here is a link to Eartec's instructions: http://eartec.com/programming-ultralite-printable-instructions/ If you are still not able to get it working, contact tech support at Eartec. You can reach them by phone at 800-399-5994 or 401-782-4966. Their offices are based in Rhode Island and they are available Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM EST.

A: With this system, 1 master headset can handle up to 4 remote headsets before needing a hub unit.

Q: 8. Can I add two headsets to my set?

A: Yes you can have one more headset without any additional hardware needed. If you need more then 5 headsets add the hub in the link bellow and that will allow you to use up to 8 headsets at once. If in the future you need more then 8 simply add another hub by connecting the two it will give you room to add 8 more headsets. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1269407-REG/eartec_hub_mini_duplex_transceiver_base.html

Q: 9. Is the system applicable for outdoor use by for example crane operators and similar job functions?

A: The Eartec UL3D UltraLITE 3-Person Headset System is designed for broadcast and stage production applications. We do offer two way radios from Kenwood and Motorola which are more suitable products for crane operators. The challenge will be isolation headsets. Those will need to be custom made.

Q: 10. I have the same set now and need more. Can they all chime in together? Or will each set work independently?

A: You can use one wired and up to 8 wireless headsets with the Hub system. Two systems will not communicate with one another.

[Headband] These worked great, but there is one minor issue with the remote head sets. The master head set has a slider switch to turn it on or off. The remote head sets have a rubber push button that you have to hold down for say 3-5 seconds to shut the head set off. When you insert a battery in to the remote head sets they turn on. You have to make sure to turn the remote head set off when you insert the battery. It's very easy to put a fresh battery in a remote head set, not turn it off and then forget about it and have it drain the battery.

[5] We started using the Eartec last week and found them to be very nice. We put our wired headsets away after 30 years of use. they still work and have a bit of static. The headsets are a little tight to wear, but I feel after a little usage they will be Ok. We are currently only using the first 3 headsets on Channel one and have not needed to use Channel 2 until we have a large performance in Church. One cameraman said he heard it beep a couple of times but had no other issues. Not sure if the battery was weakening or if it lost communication, will check it our next week. So far so good.

[Mono] Coming from the broadcast world, doing small to medium events. Really wanted to get away from wires and belt packs. These were the only cost-effective realistic solution. They worked great. We used them day in and day out. The batteries charge fast. The range was good. If you get enough people and enough staging in the way, of course you're going to lose reception over a couple hundred feet and how many walls. But I never felt like they were oversold in terms of range. I love these things, they made our work lives easier and better every day.

[16] I wasn’t expecting from a system at this price. I usually use a ClearComm system costing $12K. I even asked B&H if the product could be returned if not satisfied. I had 30-days. I received the 5-set Comm System 3-days prior to a 4 Cam shoot in a theater setting. I recorded for 3-days in a very loud environment with all actors and orchestra on wireless com’s. The Eartec. System worked flawlessly. Communication was crystal clear with plenty of volume. Battery life easily covered a Three hour show and set up. Headsets are comfortable. Build is very plastic like so not sure about durability. But I am definitely keeping this set. A great buy so far and at a fraction of the cost of a Telex/Clearcom system. I purchased the single ear configuration. During louder parts of the musical room noise made it difficult to hear. However, an earplug in the left ear solved that issue immediately. I would recommend this product to any production team.

[10 Hours] I read multiple reviews of the Eartec UltraLITE Headsets prior to purchasing.

My first impression after unboxing was that these feel more like a toy than a production environment tool. The $22 battery replacement cost also is a bit of a red flag. It's a proprietary battery so third party batteries aren't an option.

In the past I've had to rely on hand signals or my production team members actually paying attention to move from live interviews to prerecorded scenes during livestreams. Not anymore.

These simply work, despite their amateur appearance. Since they operate on the 1.9 GHz spectrum, I've never experienced dropouts or interference when in use.

You can't toss them around like regular headphones. They not as well built as headphones. Keep them in the protective case when not in use and remove the batteries as recommended when not in use.

I'm sure other companies make a better built headset, but at a much higher cost.

If you treat them with care and follow the recommendations, these should provide you with several years of worry-free operation.
