Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this SU-800 transmitter work with the Phottix Odin 1 and 2 receivers for off-camera flash?

A: Don't think so. This is a line of sight transmitter. Phottix is radio

Q: 2. Does the SU-800 have overheat circuitry protection which prevents it from being used over and over? I have been using the D810's pop-up flash to trigger off-camera flashes for focus stacking, but the D810's circuitry prevents it from firing too frequently for too long, which really slows down the process. Ideally, I'd like to be able to take 100+ shots in a row, only a second or two between exposures.

A: Since this Commander Unit only sends a small pulse of light to trigger a Nikon flash, it is not subject to overheating as much as a flash would be.

Q: 3. I just bought an SB-910 flash and I did not know that my Nikon D3200 does not have the commander mode. I also have an older D5000 and would like to know if the SU-800 Commander would allow me to shoot the new flash wirelessly with these cameras... Is that possible?

A: Yes, the SU-800 would be allow you to trigger Nikon flashes wireless with the D3200 and D5000 cameras.

Q: 4. Can I use a remote shutter release while using the SU-800 Wireless Speedlight Commander Unit ? I want remote shutter and wireless flash at the same time.

A: Yes a remote shutter release can be used while this SU-800 is on the camera.

Q: 5. Will this unit work with SB-800 Speedlight?

A: Absolutely. It works with the SB-800.The SB-800 operates a stand-alone Speedlight, wireless Speedlight Commander or wireless remote unit, according to Nikon's website. The SU-800 operates a wireless Speedlight Commander, and only needs a remote flash, which your SB-800 would be. And it works with my SB-600, which is the same generation, as well as my SB-700, which is current.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the D5100?

A: Yes, the Nikon SU-800 is compatible with the D5100 and will allow the D5100 to then trigger any i-TTL compatible speed lights.

Q: 7. Is Watson CR123A Rechargeable Lithium Battery (3V, 400mAh) compatible and safe to use with Nikon SU-800 ?

A: Yes a Watson CR123A is safe to use with the Nikon SU-800.

Q: 8. Will this unit fire the SB-5000 speedlights? I have a Nikon 800e (yes, I can use the on camera flash to trigger them, but I am doing close up work with reflective surfaces and need to have no light coming from the camera.)

A: This will work perfectly with the SB-5000. You can set your 800e so that no light comes from the camera during the actual exposure. I have heard people say that light still comes from the camera during the exposure using the on-board flash, and, maybe on some work -- like close up work -- it's just not perfect. That's what I hear you saying. This is your answer.

Q: 9. Will this work with the D850?

A: SU-800 works perfectly with D850. The shoe is the same as any Nikon flash.

Q: 10. Does it work with nikon z5, sb-700 & away from camera in a softbox ?

A: Yes, the Nikon SU-800 Wireless Speedlight Commander Unit would be compatible for use with the Nikon Z5 and the Nikon SB-700 Speedlite Flash. Do note that the Nikon SU-800 Wireless Speedlight Commander Unit is an infrared wireless trigger, and it requires line-of-sight from the front panel on the SU-800 to the infrared sensor on the side of the Nikon SB-700 Speedlite Flash in order to wirelessly trigger the SB-700.

[18.04 lb] To me, this was the only solution I could find to go truly wireless with a stereo signal from a keyboard or mixer; the headphones are comfortable enough and pairing the transmitter and receiver was easy; It appears to handle organ and bass signals reasonably well; I did have an initial issue with static or pops but proper adjustment of volume levels seems to have solved the problem; So far, I'm very pleased with the headphones;

[105 dB (Peak)] Needed a monitor station when my well known big knob controller finally became unusable. The Palmer Monicon XL is a definite improvement, not only in function but in audio performance. Everything sounds better! Simple user interface has a lot of functionality with the setup options.

[Low-Pass: 3 kHz] The large KH420 as well as its junior brother, the KH310, create a remarkably clean sound. They are scientifically designed by real audio engineers in Germany and offer the recording engineer or producer an extremely accurate sound. (What else would you expect from Neumann?) They are tri-amped speakers with very sharp digital 24db/octave crossovers The electronics (3 channels per speaker) are built in. All the speakers need is a line level, balanced input, such as you can easily get from the likes of a Grace m920 or M905, or just board out. The KH420's are designed for normal listening at a distance of 5 to 10 feet. The smaller KH310's do just as well sonically but they are intended to be closer to the listener's ears, say 3-5 ft. as they would be sitting on a console's meter section. The commenter has a pair of EACH of the speakers, so he knows first hand what he is describing. They are simply the very, very finest speaker systems I have heard in over 50 years of critical listening. They are pure gold. They are just super delicious to hear. Toss your hifi speakers out the window and upgrade to these very professional speaker systems. They are worth every penny, and you will never regret buying them. Just be certain you have an extremely clean signal to feed to them. Any sonic defects in source material will instantly be revealed. Not for the faint of heart!

[18.04 lb] Bought these last week, & couldn't wait for them to arrive. After installing them, I was blown away by the fact that they were just as loud as my mackie mr8's in an a/b test. Of course the mr8's more low end, but the clarity of the cms50's across the entire frequency spectrum was nothing short of amazing. Thanks Focal & BH!!!

[Stereo Pair] I heard about these headphones and the promise of low latency for awhile, but it wasn't until Logic Pro for iPad came out that I wanted to find out if the hype was for real. Thankfully, the answer is yes. It's astounding to me how it is that I can tap the screen with a virtual instrument, or use a MIDI controller, even my wireless Xkey Air keyboard with Bluetooth LE, and be able to both play and record in real-time and wirelessly. To me, this is the holy grail, as far as mobile music production goes. I see myself using it in my hoe studio too when the need calls for it, but to me this is game-changing. At first, I was intimidated that the headphones arrived unassembled, which was a challenge for me due to vision issues. But I was able to put the pieces together, and I gotta say that this is really elegant. To me, it's worth every penny.

[105 dB (Peak)] I was upgrading my home project studio and needed new monitors. So I did my online research and found that KRK Rockit 5 Gen 3 are the best (in that price point). Well they are no longer in production and the music stores were selling the new Gen 4's. I was going to buy the Gen 4's but after listening to a comparison of the Gen 4's vs Gen 3's on YouTube, I realized the Gen 3's were still the best. Then I found B&H had the new Classic 5's (the other stores don't) that are practically replicas of the Gen 3's so I bought them. The sound is absolutely AMAZING!!!
