Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there any software involved, like the Tentacle, so I don't have to make it an issue with an editor?

A: No. Software is not involved but the unit is updatable via micro-USB for both mac and windows.

Q: 2. Could I use a BNC cable, like the one linked below, to use this Tentacle Sync with a Sony FX6? I'm looking to find a way to use the FX6 without a top handle and still have an audio source. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1327596-REG/tentacle_sync_c08_cable_tentacle_to.html

A: Yes, You can use the Sony FX6 time code port which is BNC with this cable. Good info from Tenticle sync - https://bit.ly/3qcTYih Also see page 7 #23 in the FX6 manual for the port location - https://bit.ly/3e6Rpv2

Q: 3. What has changed between the Mk2 and previous version?

A: The main difference that you will see with the Tentacle Sync Sync E Mk2 Sync E Timecode Generator with Bluetooth (Dual Set) is this is a revision update. The only major change is that a Bluetooth 5.0 chipset is now built in.

Q: 4. Is it possible to split stereo signal coming from Sync E, so I'd get only timecode in CH1 and use proper shotgun mic for CH2?

A: The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Dual Set) do not output a stereo signal, so if your camera has multiple inputs for audio then yes, you could rout the Sync E mkII into one of the inputs and your mic into the other. If your camera only has a single audio input then input you will not be able to use a mic along with the Tentacle Sync E mkII.

Q: 5. Will this work with a bmpcc 4k and a canon c70?

A: We would only recommend using the Deneke Dcode SB-4 Syncbox Timecode Generator with a camera that has dedicated timecode ports. The Canon C70 does feature a dedicated timecode port through it's BNC adapter and would be compatible with this Timecode Generator.

Q: 6. Can I run a singular Sync E to a Rolls RA163 distro amp and then use it to send timecode to 3 other devices?

A: No. The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator needs to be connected directly to the device that you will be sending timecode to.

Q: 7. I want identical time code on four Pocket Cinema Camera 4K units. How many of these units do I need? Do I need anything else?

A: You will need four Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Single Set) acting as clocks for each Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The 3.5mm Mini Jack Cable (Right-Angle) included with the timecode generator can connect to the 3.5mm ports on the cameras.

Q: 8. is this PHABRIX SXE considered hazardous material because of the lithium ion battery contained in the test set when shipping?

A: Since the lithium ion battery is integral, there is no restriction on shipping with USPS or UPS.

Q: 9. Can the Tentacle Sync E output timecode at the same time via cable and Bluetooth? if so, could I use a single unit to feed timecode into the audio input of my camera and simultaneously via Bluetooth into a Zoom F3 with its Bluetooth module?

A: The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Single Set) (B&H# TETE1MK2) cannot output timecode by Bluetooth to the Zoom F3 2-Input / 2-Track Portable Field Recorder (B&H# ZOF3) but can do so as an audio input into one of the F3's two XLR ports using the Tentacle Sync Tentacle to 3-Pin Male XLR Cable (16") (B&H# TEC04): https://bhpho.to/3BL2sTF

Q: 10. Does this work with Sony FS5?

A: The Denecke Dcode SB-4 Syncbox Timecode Generator will not work with the Sony FS5.

[8 HP] I have purchased several of the photo envelopes for storage and organization. They work great and it even has a pocket on the front for extra storage.

[0.285 lb] Great keyboard, works as intended - and a good amount of options under the hood. Will your keyboard be a bit messier looking? Sure..but a really cool way to customize exactly what you want your perfect 4-voice poly/paraphonic instrument to do. And yes you can go beyond 4 voices using its midi outputs. All in all a pretty cool way to incorporate a case and keyboard in one.

[0.285 lb] it is actually a quite substantial storage envelope.

[8 HP] I had many different sizes of these Polyzip envelopes, but not the 4x9 size. They are nicely made and very inexpensive. I use this size to store anything from small notepads, pens, and whatever else will fit in them. As always the price was the cheapest at B&H and the service, as always was impeccable. Great buy!!!..

[8 HP] I already had a virtual Moog from Arturia Software, but it's great to have physical knobs to twiddle!

[0.285 lb] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Printing bulk levels of envelopes in rapid succession is a time killer if you manual feed. This pushes the envelopes through in no time at all. Will no longer use a laser printer without an envelope feeder. Fantastic.

[8 HP] remember to split your eurorack modules even on the buss power, you have second row and you can put your power hungry modules in that row, also you get about 70mm depth on the bottom row as there is no obstruction from the bus board, use modular grid to sort out the arrangement, I got this in 2 days from B&H, incredible timing. Thank You Guys !!

[0.285 lb] I have been using this as a source for automated modulations and a sweeping sweet-spot finder in my patches, overall it frees up some sends for me and I find cool sounds faster
