The diskAshur3 is engineered to provide tamper-proof security. Accessing its components requires physically breaking the enclosure, clearly indicating any tampering attempts. Moreover, all internal parts are shielded with a layer of durable epoxy resin, enhancing protection against physical attacks.

The firmware complies with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 standards. Additionally, the drive features a secure microprocessor certified to Common Criteria EAL5+, along with a distinctive flash lock mechanism, providing defense against potential firmware attacks.

It also provides robust protection against BadUSB attacks via a secure USB controller firmware protection mechanism. This guarantees the authentication of the USB controller firmware prior to any unlocking attempt.

If the user PIN is entered incorrectly 10 consecutive times, it will be deleted. Data will remain on the device but only accessible with the Admin PIN. If the Admin PIN is entered incorrectly 10 consecutive times, all data is lost forever. The device will need to be reconfigured before it can be re-used.

The diskAshur3 can be configured with independent user, admin, and one-time recovery PINs, ensuring flexibility without compromising security.

No pre-set admin PIN is provided, and one must be configured before the drive can be used.

Once the self-destruct PIN is entered, the encryption key and all PINs are deleted and all data is rendered as lost forever.

The backlighting can be turned on or off, making the keys visible in low light conditions.

Install any OS on the diskAshur3 and boot directly from it.

The drive can be set to automatically lock when idle following a predetermined length of time.

Restricts write access to the drive, making it impossible to modify the data stored on it.

Select between the default AES-XTS 256-bit mode or the AES-ECB 256-bit and AES-CBC 256-bit modes.

[512 GB] Very fast. On a USB -C system, it reads and writes at about 500MBps, which is about the rated speed of the SSD in that system. On a USB 3 system, it reads and writes at about 225MBps.

It gets warm to the touch moving a 10 or 15 GB, but nothing that’s alarming.

[Bus Powered] Was looking for a good SSD drive to store all of my photos and music files. This drive was plenty big enough (2 tb) and is extremely fast. Plus, you can password protect this device.

It does get warm to the touch after extended usage, but that is to be expected for SSD drives this size. Good product!!

[512 GB] A teeny, tiny 2 TB USB flash drive. Because of its two different size USB connectors, its an excellent, Bridge, for transferring files to and from older motherboards and my newer, more modern laptop which does not have a USB, A, port.

[512 GB] It’s fast compared to your typical thumbdrive. I would say it’s between the speed of a Hard Drive and an NVME drive.

The USB C connection is recommended as the USB A even though it’s 3.2 has a noticeable bottle neck.

[Bus Powered] Basic, with no LED light (welcome), small, and it doesn't run hot. The USB-C port clocks in at 983/886 MB/s R&W, and the USB-A port around 345 MB/s. For SSD maintenance, it supports the TRIM function in Windows. On a 32GB large transfer, it slowed down to about 1/3 speed about halfway, but it wasn't paralyzing like I've seen on the SanDisk USB drives. I'm not sure if this is a heat protection feature or a buffer filling up, but it wasn't really an issue, and the transfer was quick. The best USB drive I've ever tested.

[Bus Powered] This is actually our third, but different color. We had to do handle backup on existing computer and found them dependable and high speed while highly compact. So when I new computer entered the family we knew just where to go for a new backup device.
