Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello, does it have the half bowl to use it with legs?

A: No, this is a 75mm Flat Base with 3/8"-16 Thread and you would have to purchase a half bowl adapter separately.

Q: 2. Can the clamp be rotated 90 degrees?

A: The Leofoto BV-1 Fluid Video Head can rotate 360 degrees, but the Arca-type quick release clamp itself does not rotate.

Q: 3. Can it carry with ease the D810 with 24-70mm f2.8 VR lense and Follow Focus with 2 15mm rod?

A: The Nikon D810 weighs abut 2 lbs and the NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens weighs 2.5 lbs. A 15mm LWS and follow focus depends on the models involved. However, 3-4 lbs would be about right. So a max of about 8.5 lbs would not tax the S6 max of 13.2 lbs capacity.

Q: 4. Can this fit 501PL plates?

A: Yes, the S2 can accept Manfrotto 501PL plates.

Q: 5. I have used and returned one copy of this head. It made crackling and popping sounds when tilting up and down. I also find that unless the pan lock is unscrewed a few turns it grinds when panning left to right. Is this the case with all units or did I get a faulty unit?

A: I would say neither instance should occur and that you should return or exchange the head.

Q: 6. What is the difference between this and Leofoto BV-1R? All I can see is that there is a small weight difference, but what else?

A: There are no other differences except the slightly lighter weight on this Leofoto BV-1 Fluid Video Head, which is an updated version of the Leofoto Mini Fluid Head BV-1R.

Q: 7. Is this head compatible with Benro M-027 tripod?

A: If you mean the Benro C-027, yes, no problem. Frankly, any tripod with a 1/4 or 3/8 screw on top with take this.

Q: 8. does this head accept a standard manfrotto plate or I am stuck with needing an arca swiss plate?

A: Arca Swiss is a very popular plate style. However, It would not be compatible with Manfrotto 501PL style plates. You could add a quick release adapter that is Manfrotto compatible like the following model. https://bhpho.to/35uO7xN Just attach it to the plate that comes with the SmallRig Lightweight Fluid Video Head.

Q: 9. Will it work with arca Swiss plates?

A: This head does not accept Arca Swiss plates as is. However you could always mount an Arca Clamp to the top of it. Once you have a product like BH #SUMAC14 on it, it will work with Arca Plates. https://bhpho.to/2wMsQ1n

Q: 10. Does the S6Pro use "fluid" to produce the drag on movement or does it use "friction" to produce the drag on movement?

A: The S6Pro use "fluid" to produce the drag on movement.

[Yes] This is one of the smoothest tripod fluid heads I have used for mid size rigs. Much nicer than the equivalent Mangroto (which is also a great product. ). I purchased this to with my C100.

[Yes] I am in the Hunting/Outdoor filming industry and this benro head works great. I'm used to running a manfrotto head but decided to give this one a try and I'm glad I did!

[Yes] I don't have a lot of experience with video heads. I have a Manrotto 501(3433) that I have used for a year and a recently purchased Benro S6 that part of a video monopod. This S8 is much better than all of them. I use it with my GH2 and GH3 with a wide variety of lenses including an enormous Canon FD 85-300 mm zoom. I have used this combo for baseball games, a concert and I plan on using on the sidelines for high school football. The head is nice because it can balance the very heavy lens, but can also accommodate light lenses. The accessory sockets on the side are nice because they allow me to easily add an external monitor with adding some sort of rig. The lighted bubble is nice and the pan and tilt drag also work nicely. I am very happy with the purchase.

[Yes] This is the best low cost video head I've ever owned. The counter-balance adjustment is very effective at properly balancing cameras from 2 - 12 lbs. The 501 compatible camera plate is a smoother fit than any of the Manfrotto plates I've used to date.

[+55° to -90°] I bought this tripod head as a replacement for my Bogen 503HDV head. I use a 504HD as my primary tripod and use the S8 Pro with my Kessler pocket dolly as the head of choice. Solid and sturdy. I'll use the 75mm adapter from my old 503HDV head on the S8 Pro if I need to put it on some sticks in case I need a 2nd tripod. Great for the price!

[+55° to -90°] This is a budget, lightweight video head. No, it's not as awesome as a Sachtler or Vinten Vision -- but it's not priced like them. I have two of these, AND several Sachtler & Vinten heads. I use the S4 for stuff like the end of a small jib and on a slider, or for lightweight use when light load is paramount. The pan is smooth as is the tilt. Both lock off. The tilt has some drag control, but not much. Pan is off or on. The QR plate does interchange w/ the Manfrotto of similar size. Though the QR mechanism on the head is secure, it's not as solid as the Manfrotto or as smooth since the S4 has a plastic part instead of metal as on Manfrotto (see the blue button on the left of the S4? That's plastic -- no harm, but it's just not as precise). That is the safety release, not the lock knob; so when it's locked, it's plenty solid. The handle can be removed which is something not all the Manfrottos can do -- an important detail for use on sliders.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I don't understand some of the reviews. This S6 fluid head is great! Maybe it was upgraded since it came out..? I'm not sure but I love it. The panning is smooth even though you can only adjust by tightening a screw. Either way this is great!

[Quick Release] pros: Cost Great pan and tilt smoothness Good build quality Light weight Operator sided controls Cons: No pan drag but it's so smooth anyways it doesn't really matter.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] After going to a few stores and trying quite a few fluid heads in person, I settled on this one over the Manfrotto and Sachtler fluid heads in the same price range. It is heavy duty and sturdy but still has very smooth motion and is definitely more intuitive than the Manfrotto with the pan/tilt lock placements. I bought this along with the 75mm half ball adaptor so that I could use it on a video tripod as well as on a slider.
