  • The Midas Pro mic amp was developed for the PRO Series mixing consoles and is also found in the M32—and has been recognized by leading live sound and recording engineers as the very essence of the famous Midas sound. It is here in the MR12 that more than 40 years of design excellence has come together with premium grade components to provide unparalleled warmth and depth, subtle ambience, and immaculate spatial positioning—for more precise imaging than competing models.
  • The award-winning Midas microphone preamplifier has inspired generations of live sound engineers to their best work, creating sonic landscapes that have captivated audiences worldwide. MR12 comes equipped with 4 Midas Pro preamps, all of which are literally ready for your input via Neutrik combo connectors with locking latches.

Designed for the ultimate in mobility, the MR12 comes with an integrated Wi-Fi module for direct control of your mixer’s functions without the need to set up and configure an external router. The MR12 gives you the freedom to focus on your mix; while allowing you to move about the venue to experience what every part of the audience is hearing. Plus, you can adjust live monitor wedges from the artist’s perspective – or better yet, let them mix their own IEMs and floor monitors via their own tablets.

  • Access Point is the easiest way to connect up to 4 clients directly and concurrently (i.e., iPad, Android smartphone/tablet or laptop). This mode should have your remote control up and running in less than a minute.
  • Wi-Fi Client allows you to add your mixer to the existing wireless network where the controlling apps and devices are connected.
  • Alternately, wired connections can be made directly to your PC, to a local area network (LAN), or when connecting to a dedicated Wi-Fi router, e.g., for extended range or 5 GHz applications.

MR12 features a convenient USB connector that makes it easy to store files or record and playback uncompressed stereo WAV files of your mix. Dial in the perfect monitoring mix with effects and zero-latency performance using one of the Aux buses, while recording up to 12 source signals - and send the keyboard player's MIDI notes to your DAW for recording and editing.

  • When your application calls for a multiple-microphone setup, such as an onstage panel discussion, press conference, or courtroom proceeding, etc., it can become a challenge to maintain so many mics and still preserve maximum gain and priority for the moderator.
  • A major first for compact audio mixers is Behringer's revolutionary M AIR Gain Sharing technology, which can help you manage fully automated mixes with up to 4 live microphones. Based on the legendary Dan Dugan automix system, the MR12’s gain sharing paradigm automatically controls the levels of all selected microphones in real time, without any gating artifacts or noise modulation.
  • This function dramatically reduces the typical feedback, studio noise, and comb-filtering challenges that can occur when two or more mics are in close proximity of each other. M AIR Gain Sharing technology provides a consistent system gain structure, even when multiple speakers are talking at the same time.

  • Equipped with the very same FX engines as the now legendary M32 Digital Mixing Console, the onboard virtual FX Rack provides access to four true-stereo (8 mono) multi-effect processors including delay, chorus, dynamics, plus the MR12 can run production-quality, true-stereo reverbs concurrently with 31-band EQ on the main and aux buses, all without the need for any additional hardware.
  • You can select any combination of high-end simulations of legendary studio effects, such as the Lexicon 480L and PCM70, as well as the EMT250 and Quantec QRS reverbs. Onboard processing means your computer no longer has to do the heavy lifting during a mixing session with DAW plug-ins, as the MR12 has a whole studio of FX under its bonnet.
  • Custom-designed, and physically modeled after some of the most iconic and sought-after processors, all effects run inside the low-latency environment of the M32 mix engine, ensuring flawless performance, flexible routing and the end of cable faults.

  • The MR12 includes a high-resolution 100-band Real Time Analyzer (RTA), with full Bar and Spectrograph views. This high-resolution RTA displays the audio energy distribution in 100 frequency bands over time—capturing a sonogram window of a full 10 seconds.
  • Switch between the large RTA view, displaying any available signal in full screen resolution, or the Combined RTA view shown above each of the channel and bus EQ curves, and see the results of your filtering choices. Additionally, the RTA can be displayed on top of the 31-band graphic EQ in the main L/R or aux bus.

  • The MR12 allows you to achieve the same incredible level of EQ finesse as the award-winning M32, thanks to its 100-band Real Time Analyzer, which is built into every input channel and bus EQ. Visual feedback built into the control app allows you to see and make fast surgical adjustments to frequencies in need of a boost or a cut.
  • Every input channel features a low-cut 4-band fully parametric EQ and the same gate and compressor dynamics suite found in the M32 with one very special addition—you can choose either Expert or Simple functionality. In Expert mode, you can drill down and take total control over every nuance of your dynamics. Or, if you are more of the plug-and-play type, Simple mode lets you either select from 1 of 4 carefully optimized presets, or load your own channel templates. Add to this 40-bit floating-point DSP, and you will experience virtually unlimited dynamic range with no internal overload and near-zero overall latency.
  • In addition to the main L/R bus for front of house, 2 aux buses are provided for dialing in the perfect monitor mixes, or creating a dedicated mix for your USB stereo recording, complete with inserts, dynamics, and either a 6-band parametric EQ or a 31-band graphic EQ. And if you want even more precise control over your EQ, 100-band RTAs are available for all of these buses, too.

The physical MIDI I/O port on the MR12 mixer can also be used for connecting external MIDI controllers, such as Behringer's X-Touch or B-Control products (sold separately), for dynamically controlling channel level, muting, and panorama adjustments during your performance. The installed firmware supports the Mackie Control protocol, allowing you to easily apply comprehensive remote editing and parameter adjustments via any compatible MIDI device.

M AIR EDIT (PC/Mac/Linux)

  • If your application requires a computer for Midas M Air mixer remote control, then M AIR EDIT was made just for you. Simply copy and launch the free software with your computer, connect to the mixer via its built-in Ethernet (LAN) connector using a Cat 5e cable (max. 100m length), and all M AIR mixer functions are instantly mirrored on your computer screen. Since a PC screen is larger than the one on your mobile phone, M AIR EDIT allows the opening and scaling of more app windows, such as routing or FX editing, letting you decide how much information you need at a glance. All touchscreens are supported, or you can use a mouse to adjust your physical mixer’s settings. You can even control multiple mixers remotely from a single computer, or create several strategically placed computer stations to control the same mixer. With M AIR EDIT, your PC, Linux, or Mac computer becomes your virtual mixer, both live and in the studio.

M AIR MIX for iPad

  • Front of House is wherever you and your iPad are, thanks to the new M AIR MIX app for iPad. Simply download the free app to your iPad, set the Midas M Air mixer to Access Point mode, and connect your iPad to the MR12 network that will appear. After launching the M AIR MIX app, select the mixer image, and all of your M AIR mixer’s settings can now be adjusted directly from your iPad. You can save your favorite scenes, and load previously stored scenes and presets to/from your iPad or customize your channel layout, all with the support of innovative drag-and-drop functionality.

M AIR MIX for Android

  • Designed specifically for all Android mobile devices (2.2 or later), which include tablets and smartphones, the app can be used in one of two modes: Full-Access Mixing mode, or Bound to a Specific Aux Bus mode, for creating personal monitor mixes remotely on Midas M Air mixers. Using this free and easy to learn app, each performer can use their Android device to dial-in the perfect personal IEM or wedge monitor mix without having to consult the audio engineer for assistance. With the M AIR MIX App for Android, personal monitor mixing just got a whole lot more personal—both live and in the studio! But M AIR MIX offers even more; in full-access mixing mode, the app provides control over all channel processing, including the RTA overlay, effects editing, storing/loading scenes or presets, and much more—whether you are running a 12" tablet or a 5" smartphone.

[7.215 lb] The Zoom LiveTrak L-20 was everything we hoped in a mixer and multitrack recorder. I've only had it a week, but our band has changed our entire sound system around it. Having 6 independent monitor-outs, each with its own full set of input sliders has been a boon, though it did take a while to get used to making changes at the board. The sound is crystal clear (except for Frank's noisy pedals, lol) Multitrack recording onto an SD card has been a game changer, especially since I can select WHICH channels are recorded. It has a smaller footprint than my previous board which is also nice.

I haven't used the iPad app a ton, but it was one of the attractive extra features, so I bought the bluetooth module. I was able to change monitor levels on the fly.

Improvements I'd like to see:

I would rather this have been a Bluetooth+WiFi device instead of Bluetooth, especially if you're going to sell the wireless separately. That way, we'd have more options for improving range... configure the device using bluetooth, but use it live on WiFi. You never know what kind of distance or interference you're going to encounter at a gig. Also, selling the bluetooth module separately seems like a very cheap move at this price point. But a separate module means they -could- create a WiFi module, right?

I wish the iPad app was designed a little tighter so I could see more on the screen at a time.

It would also be nice if the monitor output ports were staggered like the channel inputs so you could fit two of the popular direct plug (Like Xvive) wireless monitor transmitters next to each other.

But overall, this mixer is awesome and does everything we wanted in a single device - 16 channels of instrument and mic inputs, digital multitrack recording and 6 independent monitor outputs.

And I got a GREAT price from B&H Photo!

[Yes] My last digital mixer was a Yamaha 01V96. The LiveTrak L-20 does the same job in a smaller package and 1/4th the weight (not counting the Anvil case). In lieu of motorized faders, the L-20 displays the programmed position using the channel meters. That conveys the same essential information without all the complexity. COVID restrictions led me to do live-streaming, which is closer to TV broadcasting than to audio/video recording. Associated tasks include FOH sound reinforcement. The visual and tactile advantages of a mixing board were a decisive factor in my choice, coupled with the need to lay out up to 16 microphones before going heavy. The L-20 will also save 10 scenes, including eq and fader settings, perfect for mixed venues. There are also 6 programmable output mixes plus main mix, for customized monitoring. For the practical sorts like myself, there is a main headphone jack, plus one for each monitor port. To top it off, the board will record 22 tracks (20 pre-fader) to an SD card, up to 96/24 resolution, and connect the same to a DAW via USB-2.

[4] Not as sophisticated as Logic Pro or Pro Tools, but great to capture the sound and can download wavs to other programs.

[Yes] Build quality is average for price/class, all metal case feels sturdy and a little heavier than expected. There are a lot of options for mixers this size. I picked this one for sound quality and have not been disappointed. Very open and clear, has the punch of a soundcraft and the smoothness of an allen & heath. Excellent noise floor, which has been an issue with others. I run a high power PA rig for DJs and electronic music

[4x Stereo ] Okay, so I already owned the Zoom L-12 and needed a few more inputs. I was so happy with the L-12 but this new L20 is so much better, by far. Are the preamps the same in the L-20 as in the L-12...cause the sound so much better. In addition, the two effects channels make all the difference when mixing down tracks. Still, one of my favorite features is the remote app that allows you to control the L-20 remotely on your iPad. Amazing product.

[15 x 8.4 x 5.8"] I acquired this mixer as a replacement for a Soundcraft UI-16 that required two repairs in less than a year. At that point I realized the need of a reliable and better quality mixer within my budget and needs. I considered many options in the price and IO category. I'm always trying to save space and time while assuring high quality sound.

This mixer is tiny but awesome. It worked great out of the box. Connection was easy and straightforward. The iOS app is easy to use and almost identical to the X Air. This is good since there are a lot of tutorial videos in YouTube. Sound quality is so good and in my opinion, superior to the XR, note that there are Midas preamps here. No negligible floor noise, zero, nada. Paired with my Bose L1 model 2 is phenomenal. Sound is bold and powerful. So superior to the UI also. The preamps of the Soundcraft are noisy and by no means discrete.

There are effects and inserts not found in the Behringer unit like a Midas Leisure compressor, leveling amplifier and Sub Octaver, for example. By the way, the effects sound incredible and you have so many of them to choose. Fat channel strip is also powerful. Another great feature is Auto Mix, so easy to set up and works great. Neutrik connectors with locks are also present, not found in Behringer XR. It also comes with rack ears in case you want to mount it in a rack. I got a Gator case which fits perfectly and save space.

So far, I'm impressed with the amount of features and options included at this price range and the Midas name on it puts this mixer, in my opinion, in a higher shelf. For my applications which includes 3-4 acoustic guitars and equal number of vocals this is a great product. Managing the sound from and iPad in your mic stand is extraordinary. Recommended.

[Yes] I had to replace an old Mackie DX8 at a house of worship, and this mixer worked great. I like the Neutrik connectors instead of terminal blocks that some other mixers use. The MR18 installed quickly, and its software was intuitive on my Windows 7 PC. The built-in wireless worked fine when I was 75 feet away in the balcony. (I only used WiFi for initial configuration and can't say if it's good enough to run a live show.) The preamps were clean with plenty of headroom, including one channel where I had phantom power on a podium condenser mic. I would definitely specify this product again.
