The Behringer PP400 is a phono/turntable preamplifier that amplifies your turntable signal to line level and is designed for use with amplifiers, mixers, or stereo systems that do not provide phono inputs. The PP400 equalizes a turntable signal according to RIAA specifications, amplifies the RIAA equalized signal, and outputs a line-level signal.

A: Both the Pyle Pro Ultracompact Phono Turntable Preamplifier and the Pyle Pro PP999 Phono Preamplifier will deliver quality audio from their outputs in a similar manner. The Pyle Pro Ultracompact Phono Turntable Preamplifier has an extra output as well, which differentiates it from the PP999.

Q: 4. will it work with a moving coil cartridge, connected between my turntable and my integrated amplifier?

A: This product is not a good choice for a Moving Coil cartridge. You'll get a weak signal that will need to be boosted, and there will probably be a lot more noise. Moving Coil carts tend to be very high quality, so it would be a shame to use the wrong preamp and not get all of the potential quality.

Q: 5. I have a pioneer al a158 and an old solid state channel master. Will the preamp make the turntable louder?

A: Yes. Yes it will.

A: Unfortunately the manufacturer does not specify which cartridges are recommended, however we would recommend this unit for use with MM cartridges for best results.

[150 mA] Versatile very potent and accurate pre-amp to my B&O that does not have a phono input! Sounds very crisp as well as 'low' to enjoy my 50 year old vinyl. I am surprised that they are in 90% of the case in very good to pristine shape. It created a lot of work to catalog and rate my re-discovered wealth of audio pleasures. 5

[0.765 lb] This preamp is built like a tank. All alum Housing.This is a perfect quick interface between a vinyl record player with a magnetic cartridge.You can use the earphone jack to monitor. You can pipe the audio from ANYTHING else you can find to connect to this preamp (like tapes, a mic).The controls have an excellent range of control. None of this too loud, oops, too soft stuff.If you want to record music from sources that use almost extinct unamplified musical instruments, this is the go between control. This preamp doesn't add any noise. A re-recording passing through this preamp into a PC is worth being lovingly restored with your favorite music software. 5

[0.765 lb] I am using this phono preamp to record my vinyl collection and it does an amazing job. I have used it with a couple of audio recording programs and being able to adjust the Gain level on the unit ensures consistent recordings. The AC adaptor is not included, but you don't need one. It will power on sufficiently through the USB cable you use for recording. I also purchased that on B&H with excellent results: Comprehensive USB 2.0 A Male To B Male Cable - 3'. I recommend this product, it makes recording vinyl a breeze. 5

[1.5 W] Perfect, no nonsense converting. Been recording from tape to computer using Audacity. Feels well built too, and connections feel nice and sturdy. Powered by the USB, so no power cord to worry about. Not much else to say, it just gets the job done and is easy as can be. Plug in the source, adjust the gain, record on computer. Just what I was looking for. 5

[0.765 lb] Bought this because had good reviews. Has a low noise amplifier and had a USB for digitizing music, at a very reasonable cost. Have not used the USB yet, but the preamp works well, easy to set up, and very flexible controls. Obviously I cannot test it's specifications, but it sounds good through my receiver. 5

[1.5 W] Plug your vintage turntable into your modern reciever/amp and all your records still sound as good as they ever did. This gizmo has brought my Yamaha PX-3 back to life. It has optical in/out and USB 2.0 to jump whatever you plug into it straight to a computer for recording to digital. 5

[1.5 W] I upgraded to this from my Art ll pre some weeks Ago. It may be too early for a comprehensive review but at first listen, there was a dramatic difference on a Positive note. It is well balanced and smooth. Sure, all these pre amp phono stages say they follow the RIAA SPECS. From what I can hear ( and this is the 4th Phono Stage, this has been the best for its price range. Running a AT VM95 ML microline nude, I have control but have stayed at zero. I won’t be changing this Bellari for a long time. 5

[Black] I am amazed at how this solid feature-full computer interface unit make digitizing analog music from LPs easy and fun. It is eminently affordable at way less than a hundred dollars and is easily powered by my computer and transfers analog signals into a digital format. I store them in MP3 files which I then transfer to a flash drive for use in my car. Excellent Product. Thanks. 5
