I crushed the link toggle switches into the unit and my engineer was unable to take the circuitboard out because the front facing XLR's are attached to the face. All in all, not very user-friendly.

But it features a "STEREO / MONO" switch to combine stereo sources into a mono signal and a “20dB PAD” switch for connecting to "hot" signal sources. Separate ground lift switches for each output help eliminate hum and buzz.

A: The output is already at mic level. The transformer gives you a 20 dB loss from -10 consumer line input to -30dB. If you need more, there is a built in 20 dB pad switch which takes your signal down to -50dB total. There is no reason or need to use an additional pad.
