Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this convert an NTSC composite video to SDI?

A: Yes

Q: 2. I have a HS 600 data video with SD-SDI output at 720 by 576i. Can this converter convert the signal to HD-SDI?

A: No, this converter doesn't upconvert video, it just converts it from analog (component/composite/s-video) to SDI. The Mini Converter UpDownCross HD though, can upconvert SD-SDI to HD-SDI https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1401679-REG/blackmagic_design_convmudcstd_hd_mini_converter_updowncross_hd.html

Q: 3. Does this come with a power supply?

A: Yes. Power supply was in the box. New w/celophane...converter, power supply. No other cabling.

Q: 4. Does the mini converter retain DIP switch 1 aspect ratio after power cycling? The manual instructions are to cycle switch 1 twice to apply center cut aspect ratio. I want to locate the converter remotely so I need to know if it will retain the center cut aspect ratio after power down / power up cycling.

A: According to the information provided in the manual it states that:Each time you cycle between Off and On you apply anamorphic, center cut or letterbox aspect ratios. Leaving switch 1 set to OFF bypasses the down converter and outputs in HD.When connected to the Blackmagic Converter Utility via USB, your down conversion settings are controlled by the software. If you want the converter to remember your software settings, disconnect from the computer, power cycle your converter and set your down conversion using mini switch 1.

Q: 5. Is there a way to go from VGA to BNC male for this? Would RGBHV work if I just didn't use the H & V cables?

A: Most likely not. RGB does not carry sync, so you would need H and V inputs. You will need a VGA to SDI scaler. Hope this aswers the question

Q: 6. I just bought this Analog to SDI,for Sony nxcam hxr-nx3/1 to BM ATEM. Can anyone help how to setup up?

A: Not much to set up. As I recall there are some switches on it to set as. I connected it and flipped the switches until I stumbled onto the right combination.

Q: 7. What type of cable do I need to communicate with this unit and Cable from this to my iphone?

A: The Blackmagic Design Mini Converter Analog to SDI accepts analog signals. Current iPhones and their lighting to AV out is are digital, HDMI signal. It would be optimal if you use a lightning to HDMI adapter and then an HDMI to SDI converter, but if you wish to complete this connection to the Blackmagic Design Mini Converter Analog to SDI, please see the items below: Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter - https://bhpho.to/3M1e1tx Pearstone High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet (Black, 6') - https://bhpho.to/3sjzJRF Atomos Connect Convert Scale | SDI/HDMI to Analog - https://bhpho.to/3M1SSPR 3 x Pearstone 6' SDI Video Cable - BNC to BNC - https://bhpho.to/33RpvOZ

Q: 8. If I connect component video and analog audio to this converter and run SDI cable (RG6), can I plug the SDI cable directly into my HD TV at the destination (without further conversions)?

A: As long as the source is producing a signal with resolution and frame rates compatible with Blackmagic Mini Converter Analog to SDI.

Q: 9. converters?

A: Converts SDI digital to component or composite with analog audio on 1/4 outs

Q: 10. Does this down scale the HD SDI video when converting to analog?

A: Yes.

[0.98 lb] Sound wave surfer devise. I would recommend it as first synthesizer or a meditation tool. Love that it works on batteries lots of fun anywhere. You can take it outside, to your job, school or a park. Great gadget!

[30 mA] This is the best delay / slap-back echo / mod machine I've ever heard. There are versatile sounds for every need, with responsive controls to dial in the perfect effect. Plus, the secret secondary controls make this even more customizable. The looper is lots of fun, though might be a little difficult to pull off live onstage. Basically, if you're looking for a versatile delay, with some added modular swirly/shimmery sounds and a looper thrown in for good measure, stop reading this and buy this pedal. Just be prepared to sit in front your amp and enjoy exploring the sounds this pedal provides, for hours! Highly recommended!

[30 mA] Alright I'm a Korg fan. Have the Monotron Duo, which is awesome especially since you can play it in tune, but the Delay is extra amazing. It is way more versatile than any youtube video would lead you to believe...just subtle alterations of the knobs open gateways to truely otherworldly sounds. Think 50s science fiction movies. I use a Nintendo DS stylus on the ribbon controller, works better than fingers. Excellent machine at an unbeatable price for making burbling, crazy noises to compliment your tracks. Pure fun.

[Gray] Along with all of Universals pedals, this is a beauty. Pricey but worth it for the various delays included

[Gray] For those interested in small and portable synth setups, there isn't much when it comes to battery operated delay units. This is where the Monotron Delay comes in. The internal synth isn't bad and good for noodling around, but once you route a TE Pocket Operator (or any battery powered synth for that matter) through the audio in and delay, you'll see why this little machine is great for small/portable setups. Sure the delay is lo-fi, and maybe this machine could be about $15-20 less for the build quality, but still worth it.

[0.98 lb] Exactly what we've come to expect from Boss/Roland. Pedal just works. Sounds good and built like a tank. Easy on batteries when you don't want to run power. Priced right.

[30 mA] The Korg Monotron Delay is a very immediate and fun sound design machine and processor. What's especially unique about it is that the filter comes after the delay. You can process incoming audio or the oscillator and control the tone of the repeats with the onboard filter, which is taken from the MS20 synth and is a personal favorite of mine. There is no resonance control to the filter but it's set at a very tasty level. This makes for a very creative sonic landscape. The internal oscillator is a saw waveform and can be modulated with either a triangle or a square LFO. Matched with the delay, this delivers some very spacey and interesting sounds. I would say the Monotron Delay is best suited for external processing and making samples. The ribbon controller doesn't offer any precise control and to get a precise pitch is pretty difficult. The ribbon controller offers continuous control of pitch, so sweeps are possible by running your finger up or down the ribbon. I used mine to make a sample library, incorporating the delay in my sound design as the layering of repeats with the filter and the modulation of the LFO makes for some pretty large sounds. I really like how fast the LFO goes. It goes into the audio range for analog-FM style tones. The real magic of this synth comes with the automation of the parameters, delivering hands on motion to otherwise static sounds. A vast array of sonic textures can VERY easily be coaxed out of this with little prior experience. The Monotron Delay delivers wild sonic textures that are at home in any electronic music track looking for something to give it some grimy analog grit.

[9 VDC at 100 mA] Consider the monotron delay a dynamite toy for grown folks. It's function is not necessarily musical and I don't use it directly in my musical pursuits, but it provides an abstract function that feeds my music in the intangible. As a tool for meditation it is far out indeed.
