[f/16] I have a Nikon Z30 and originally just the kit lens. I wanted something with a lower F-stop and autofocus so I could get more of that “cinematic” (trigger word I know) look to my shots. Primarily I film Tiktoks/Reels for some short form music content for myself. I didn’t want to spent a ton of money and didn’t know where to start and lucky for me I found this lens. I’m very much an amateur and have no idea what I’m doing but if you’re here looking to get something more out of your shots I highly recommend this lens. BUT, before you doing anything at all lens wise GET LIGHTS. Cheap ones are fine I spent $80 on 2 lights and it changed everything. Then after that, if you still feel like you need somewhere to start like me, and on a budget, then this is the product. 5

[58 mm (Front)] For the price, this lens produces accurately focused sharp images. The aperture can be seen in the EVF so, even though it's click less, you can see the setting. The bokeh is very attractive - which I compared this Viltrox on Sony a6500 to a Fuji 23 f1.4 on a Fuji X-T4. The bokeh was nearly indistinguishable one from the other. The close focus isn't as close as the Fuji brand, which may bother some people. But, really, for $300, this lens is more than a contender, it's a winner. 5

[Nikon Z] This lens is better than any of the Fuji options. The optical quality is amazing. Yes there is a little vignetting but that’s easy to correct. Autofocus amazed me, it is lightning quick and dead silent. Build quality is honestly just as good as Fuji. My ONLY complaint is the aperture ring is a little loose and easy to bump when taking photos, I wish it was tighter or had a click option. I can’t wait to see what else Viltrox comes out with 5

[APS-C] This was purchased to replace the kit lens for a Sony a6400 used in a videoconference/Zoom application. It is noticeably sharper than the kit lens and provides good bokeh to reduce distracting background. The focal length is ideal for use with a table-mounted tripod located at the typical distance of a computer monitor from the seated user. 5

[Nikon Z] This lens is excellent! It has fast autofocus and is very sharp throughout most of its range. There is a vignetting wide open but it disappears by F/2. The bokeh is pleasing albeit a little busy. Overall, despite its weaknesses it is a very strong contender to the 23 F/2. The extra stop comes in handy quite often. 5
