Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work for ULX-D systems?

A: The Shure UA860SWB is compatible with all UHF wireless microphone and In Ear Monitor systems with detachable antennas that operate within the range of 470-1100 MHz. In the case of ULX-D (and QLX-D) series systems, it can be used with all current bands except for the new V50 band (174.125 215.825 MHz) that operates in VHF, which is outside the range of frequencies received by this antenna.

Q: 2. Can I split the RF output of this to 2 receivers using a BNC-TEE, or do I need an RF splitter?

A: You would be able to accomplish this using the UA221. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1335931-REG/shure_ua221_rsma_reverse_sma_passive_antenna.html

Q: 3. Does this work with SLXD4 receiver system ?

A: Yes, the Shure UA8-470-636 Wideband 1/2 Wave Receiver Antenna (A: 470 to 636 MHz) is compatible for use with the SLXD4 wireless receiver. You will need to use two of these antennas. To mount the antennas, you can use the Shure UA505 Remote Antenna Bracket Mounting Kit - Includes: Mounting Bracket, Bulkhead Adapter, Bulkhead Adapter Nut (B&H # SHUA505). To connect the antennas to the receiver, you can use two of the Shure UA825 25' BNC-to-BNC Remote Antenna Extension Cables (B&H # SHUA825) or any similar coaxial cable in the length you need.

Q: 4. Can I use this for the Lectrosonics reciever system? It has a bnc antenna option as well...

A: The Shure UA8-470-636 Wideband 1/2 Wave Receiver Antenna (A: 470 to 636 MHz) might work with a Lectrosonics receiver that operates within the same frequency range.

Q: 5. Will these antennas work with the older ULXP4 receivers ( J1)?

A: Yes, the Shure UA8 1/2 Wave Omnidirectional Receiver Antenna is compatible with ULX systems in the 554 to 590 MHz frequency range.

Q: 6. Does this antenna need line of sight? Would it work around minor obstructions like a mixing desk?

A: The UA8-470-636 Wideband 1/2 Wave Receiver Antenna (A: 470 to 636 MHz) will work around minor obstructions but it is best to keep it as close to line of sight as you can.

Q: 7. Will this work with the 470-542 receivers?

A: Yes, the Shure UA8-470-636 Wideband 1/2 Wave Receiver Antenna (A: 470 to 636 MHz) works with receivers that operate between 470 to 636 MHz.

Q: 8. Is it compatable with shure axient?

A: No, the Shure UA860SWB Passive Omnidirectional Antenna is not compatible for use with the Shure Axient series wireless receivers.

Q: 9. The BLX 188 did not come with Antenna, though the 2-pack system has installation points for 2 antenna. Will these (2x) work?

A: No, the Shure UA8-470-636 Wideband 1/2 Wave Receiver Antenna (A: 470 to 636 MHz) is not compatible for use with the Shure BLX88 Dual-Channel Tabletop Wireless Receiver included with the Shure BLX188 Wireless Microphone System. The BLX88 receiver has internal antennas that are built-in, but it does not have installation points for external antennas.

Q: 10. Do I need two of these (to connect to both the A and B side of my SLX system)?

A: While not required, two Shure UA860SWB Passive Omnidirectional Antennae, one for each antenna input on a Shure receiver, could be used. In many cases, an omnidirectional antenna such as the UA860SWB is paired with a directional, "paddle" antenna such as the Shure UA874 Active Directional Antenna (BH #SHUA874US). This allows for a general, expanded coverage area from the omnidirectional antenna, while the paddle dials in a directional pickup pointed towards the system's transmitter.

[12.5 x 1 x 0.7"] I needed a set of Wideband antennas for my Shure UA844 distribution unit. These antennas cover the frequencies of all of my wireless units.

[12.5 x 1 x 0.7"] Bought to improve signal reception due to frequent dropouts and we want to be able to remote mount in the future. The construction is solid. Antenna is about 13 inches long. Works well with the Shure SLX4 receiver. We saw a definite improvement in the radio signal over the basic 1/4 wave antennas. Works on any frequency between 470-636.

[12.5 x 1 x 0.7"] Replaced the quarter inch that come with the sennheiser XSW-2. Worth every dollar spent on these to improve signal and distance with a lapel mic. I'm a mobile DJ that does wedding ceremony audio, so having no drops outs is a must. I gained about 25ft of distance and more importantly, no slight drop outs I would sometimes deal with prior
