Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it compatible with RRS quick release lever clamp??

A: Yes, fully compatible.

Q: 2. Will this fit a 423 PX?

A: The Sunpak Quick Release Plate for 7000TM Tripod is incompatible with the Sunpak 423PX Carbon Fiber Tripod w/ Pan Head. Instead, get the Slik Quick Release Plate for Able 300DX Tripod Head, Pro 330 DX, Pro 340 DX, Pro 400 DX, Pro 500 DX & SH-705E, BH #SLQR300DX.

Q: 3. Is there a 'locking ring' that secures the head to the tripod, or does the head simply 'twist-lock' on to the tripod? I am concerned that accidentally twisting the camera could unlock the head from the tripod and the camera could fall off. Do these interchange with the Arca-Swiss?

A: Yes, there is a locking mechanism for the Leofoto QS-45 Quick-Link Tripod Head Quick Release Set (45mm). When one drops the connecting plate on the receiver base, one then turns the ring on the receiver base clockwise to lock the plate in place. To unlock, simply turn the ring counter clockwise. This is similar to the Arca-Swiss Quick-Link but they run in different sizes. The QS-45 is 45mm and much smaller than the Arca-Swiss Quick-Link size.

Q: 4. Is it able to be adapted into the clamp of Gitzo GH3382 QD? There is an off center line safety screw mounted on the clamp of 3382 ball head, so I ask this question to confirm compatibility.

A: This plate is meant to mount on the bottom of a ball head in order to quickly remove the head from an Arca type clamp mounted directly on a tripod.

Q: 5. Hi. The specs say 50mm, where exactly is that measured ? the top circle part or does the 50mm include the grips ? Thank You.

A: The 50mm measurement is is taken from the diameter of the receiver base on the Leofoto QS-50 Quick-Link Tripod Head Quick Release Set (50mm).

Q: 6. Does the plate have 2 separated set screws or they are CNCed like some reviews complaint about?

A: The Kirk Tripod Head Quick Release Plate (Large) comes with one set of screws, or two screws (one small and one big) in total.

Q: 7. Is it compatible with Arca Swiss style clamp?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. will this fit a canon deluxe 200?

A: It will not work with that tripod.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with Arca-Swiss Quick-Link?

A: The Leofoto QS-70 Quick-Link Tripod Head Quick Release Set is not compatible with Arca-Swiss Quick-Link.

Q: 10. Compatible with Peak Design Carbon FIber Tripod clamp?

A: No, the Kirk Tripod Head Quick Release Plate (Small) is not compatible with the Peak Design Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod.

[1x 3/8"-16 Male] I saw this recommended to fit between my Move Shoot Move star tracker and the ballhead under my camera body. It solves the problem of the ballhead directly on the MSM coming loose as it rotates throughout the evening. I use the set screws on the undreside of the QS-50 to get a tighter connection on the MSM. So far I have been using it to do longer sub frames and for up to two hours without any problems.

[Arca-Type] I was looking for a way to swap my tripod heads on my tripods. I have a Ball Head, Geared Head, Video Head and Gimbal Head. Bought the Kirk TQR-MPL (1 No) & TQR-MPS(3 Nos) for my heads. Now I can easily swap my tripod heads without any hassle and the plate is very well made. Please do not be deceived by the picture in the BH site. There are no removable safety screws, its just 2 bumps which is permanent (I believe Kirk modified the design) and I don't see a problem with that. Go for it and you will not regret. Definitely worth recommending...

[Aluminum] This makes swapping tripod heads quick and easy. And its secure. I've had heads rotate on the mounting screw because I was unable to tighten them enough and I've struggled to remove a head to swap heads when changing from ball head to gimbal or vice versa. Previously i had to use a strap wrench to solve these problems. Now its just twist open, swap, and twist closed.

[1x 3/8"-16 Male] I have one of these on the bottom of every tripod head I own so that I can quickly swap out one head for another on my RRS legs. (I have a simple RRS clamp on top of the legs to attach to this Kirk QR plate). Works fantastically!

[Arca-Type] I am carrying an OM system 150-600 on a rapid style sling with a qd disconnect. I wanted to use qd so I could transition from sling to tripod (arca) quickly and this plate is perfect for that. The 'M' shaped design of the tightening handle allows me to tighten the plate enough by hand without a tool, it is a joy to have a plate stay tight without having to resort to using tools.

I've hiked with it mounted for quite a few miles and feel confident in it. I was originally worried it did not have a 'stop' bump like some other plates to avoid twisting and loosening, but so far it has not been an issue. I would buy it again.

The plate is comfortable in my palm when shooting hand held.

My rig is around 6.5 lbs.

[Arca-Type] This is a good quality ball head. It able to load 15kg or 33 lbs which suggested from the manufacturer website.

I tested on my Canon 24-70 f/2.8L and Canon 70-200 f/2.8L w/o any issue.

I like to use this ball head on my Platypod Ultra Plate, when I don't want to carry too much for scouting.

[Arca-Type] I bought this ball head with a Leofoto table tripod MT-04. I live the legs but the head is truly exceptional. Much better than the heads in some of my expensive tripods. I am using it with a Leica SL2 and the 24-90 heavy Leica lens. It holds very well. Highly recommended.

[Arca-Type] Great ARCA rail for shooting my AR. Mounts quickly and very solid to shoot with from my tripod. I could have gone with a slightly shorter rail but this one does give me a little more flexibility.

[1x 3/8"-16 Male] The Kirk QRP:s make the change of tripod heads very quick and convenient, while still keeping full stability. This should be a standard integrated with all heads.
