[Surface Mount] Non-professional here with limited exposure to studio gear. That said, the arm is working very well for me. Stable and quiet with an EV RE320 mic and 309A shock mount.

I really like the dual base options supplied standard with the arm. I'm using the arm on a custom 3D printed base. The base supplied for installation through a desk top helped keep my base installation easy to design and reasonably compact. The screw-on C-clamp mount I had been using and typical with most low cost arms resulted in a bulkier and less stable installation.

While the arm provides significantly increased vibration isolation when compared to the cheap spring tensioned arm I'd been using, I still find the 309A shock mount adds helpful additional isolation. With the PSA1+, some arm movement vibrations (rotation in particular) make it to the mic when used without the 309A... far less than with the previous spring tensioned arm, but still there. With the 309A, arm movements are silent.

I feel the arm was well worth the cost and am happy with my purchase.

[Screw-Knob] Works well and allow for more precise mic positioning than my old vertical stand. To be honest though, I haven't used it much, but I look forward to using it more in the future.

[Screw-Knob] I've bought and used other boom arms, but this is, by far, the best. Excellent materials and construction provide a secure mount with a smooth moving arm and excellent connectivity for a variety of microphones. I like the soft covering and cable holders. A total winner.

[Surface Mount] After a few years of using the Elgato low-profile arm with compact and fairly lightweight USB mics, I noticed the arm drooping. The droop became even more noticeable when I got the outstanding Rode NT+ USB. The YouTube algorithm suggested I check out the DS2 reviews. After one video, I was convinced!

Don’t let the size fool you: it is sturdy and does not droop. As a USB mic user, the cable fits nicely through the “cable management guides.” As YouTube reviewers have pointed out, this may not be the ideal setup for XLR mic users as the guides aren’t big enough to easily accommodate the respective cable.

[Articulated] Solid and quality built, fastens secure I really like the cloth (felt like) covering on the outside holds my mic with no problems securely. My only minor (and I'm digging) complaint is that the mic swivels if you try to move it without loosening the faster bolt. As the mic I have will probably always be vertical - as you move the mic up and down it maintains this position, probably never an issue, but still something I would feel better about if doing long recording in the event I bump it or something. I suspect I could loosen it and shim it with a piece of wrap or something, but that was my only (minor) issue. I would buy again without hesitation knowing this.

[Screw-Knob] I researched many brands of boom arms. I narrowed my search to this one. I wasn't disappointed. The arm is well built and is a great addition to my home audio studio.

[4.055 lb] I have it holding up two AT2021's mounted to a stereo bar, absolutely no issues with weight or anything.

The RODE branding isn't great aesthetically, so I covered it in black tape.

Would be cool if there were guides for 2 cables instead of one, but I understand that's pretty niche.

[Articulated] Extremely easy to put together, very high quality product and by far my favorite purchase of the year. The B&H in store team provided amazing customer service and was very helpful for any additional questions I had. Best place on earth!
