Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come with the fabric, or just the frame?

A: This is the frame and fabric in one.

Q: 2. How many flags does this hold?

A: It can hold three maybe a fourth one but three for sure.

Q: 3. Does it extend ?

A: No. The following unit is a fixed 24X36 unit.

Q: 4. Is there a case to put this in for storage or travel purposes?

A: No, the Matthews Floppy Flag (Top Hinge, 40 x 40") does not come with a bag. However, we sell the Matthews Zippered Flag Bag (40 x 40") which works great.

Q: 5. Hi, I just got this in the mail. Can you explain how I attach it to a boom arm / grip head? The rod that comes out of it appears too small to be held in place by the grip head. Is there an adapter I need to connect it securely? Thanks

A: In order to attach to your Boom arm or c-stand the following item is needed. Impact Grip Head for Lights and Accessories - 2.5" Diameter (Chrome) BH #IMKCP200 • MFR #KCP-200 https://bhpho.to/3AURnz6

Q: 6. Can the clamp be removed in order to attach it to my rig via cold shoe or screw?

A: Yes, the clamp is attached with a x-head screw. I'm not sure what type of rig you are wanting to attach it to, but the clamp works well. I think the gooseneck and flag would be a bit too heavy to work well if mounted using a flash-type cold shoe. It's a great product. I use it frequently when taking long exposures or HDR sequences with my Canon 17mm T-SE lens which is very prone to flare.

Q: 7. Does this bag have any structure or protection? ie: is it foldable, or alternatively could you put it in a flight?

A: The Matthews zippered flag bag are lined with polycarbonate sheets for wall protection.

Q: 8. Can the fabric be removed temporarily to allow the frame to be used for other applications such as holding gels or diffusion?

A: No, the Matthews Black Flag can not be removed.

Q: 9. What is the outer dimension of the carrying case?

A: Slightly smaller then the box. 45x10.5x3.8

Q: 10. So a top hinge floppy has the hinge the same side as the pin?

A: Correct, the Too Hinge Floppy has the hinge and pin on the same side, on a Bottom Hinge the hinge is on the far edge, opposite the pin side.

[Roof] very easy to use. Locks on target quickly and easily. Battery usage much better than expected. Used 5 rounds and battery still shows full charge. Very clear picture. works well with unsteady hands. Only drawback is no magnet mount for cart.

[1x Built-In] I've owned some of the most popular rangefinders and used most of the rest at one time or another while playing golf with others. As a longtime Canon user, I was happy they jumped into this category with their optics and technology.
As a rangefinder:
+ Locks onto pin with prism immediately. -Faster than all the rest I've ever used, it's actually quite surprising how fast it locks on.
+ Unit vibrates when lock is established.
+ Numbers are crisp and easy to see in viewfinder. Integrated diopter adjustment for those who need it like me.
+ Unit is small, lightweight and fits in back pocket - I mostly walk while playing and wanted a small form factor. Always wondered why most of them are not smaller. Not an issue in my hand to hold steady while taking readings with image stabilization.
+ Rechargeable battery via USB C (no more searching for CR2s). Battery charge icon is lit in viewfinder each time unit is utilized.
+ Zoom function is handy to located far targets and even help identify golf balls- was on the tee side of a creek and wasn't sure whose ball carried the hazard. Used the zoom function to identify the ball from 20 yards away.
+Canon menu is simple to navigate and set the unit/change and modify.
+ Camera is an added bonus; I did not purchase it for that function but have used it and works to my expectations with a small handheld device. Same with the video.
- Only option that some will miss is the internal magnet that other brands have to enable the unit to be put on the support bar of a golf car and help you forget your rangefinder after golf.

[7x] Very affordable triagonal prism, which is big enough for fitting any lens, and strong enough to be handled roughly. Cleans out very easily.

[Roof] This is my 3rd rangefinder. I have a Callaway with no slope and bought a value rangefinder with slope and it was inaccurate and was easily put into meters. I decided to buy a highly recommended one and looked at the Bushnell's as they seem to be everyone's favorite. I liked the size of the Nikon better and was a little bit less money. It is very accurate and the stabilization is great. Easy to turn off the slope for competition and light indicator let's competitors know it's off.

[1.46 lb] My 15-year-old Nikon rangefinder couldn't lock onto the flag unless it was blowing in the wind, which was frustrating. The 50i solved this issue, plus it indicates the ball-path yardage based on elevation change.

[1.46 lb] This is the 4th rangefinder I have purchased over the last 25 years or so...And this is by far the best.

Nikon quality optics, clear display, light weight and very accurate. I have purchased other name brand RF, but this one, especially when bought while on sale...surpasses them all.
New features, e.g., slope measurement, flagstick lock-on and variable brightness settings are great.
I highly recommend this laser rangefinder.
