[IPS-Type LCD] I use a laptop, docking station, and two monitors. The Dell UltraSharp 31.5 is a good monitor for editing photos. The display has sharp images on a large screen.

[16:9] Bought this U3223QE on sale for $699 and am very happy with it. I ran a calibration on it with my Datacolor Spyder Xpro and it looks great. Vibrant colors, 100% SRGB, bright and nice blacks/shadows. I'm a working photographer.

[1x RJ45 ] Awesome monitor! The colors and deep blacks are really nice. And the built in dock has been invaluable for switching between my work laptop and personal desktop.


The monitor I received did have a defect in the panel (just some weird marks on the edges of the panel), but so far customer service has been great and they are sending a brand new monitor while allowing me to use the defective one until it arrives. I would have liked a non defective one, but I really can't ask for more on the customer service side of things. Thank you dell for making the process easy. My last dell monitor is over 10 years old

[3840 x 2160] This is a really good monitor. Very sharp picture, great colors. Allows very clear picture for financial charts monitoring. This monitor is unlike any others I tried. I am using already same specs monitors but smaller so I appreciate the brand and the Ultra Sharp feature. I am realy happy with the purchase. Highly recommend it.

[31.5"] Upon the recommendation of an IT friend, I purchased this monitor to use as part of my dock setup for a MacBook Pro. The image quality is awesome... sharp with vibrant colors. A friend jokingly asked if I bought this monitor to compensate for something. My response was, Yes, my aging eyes!

[Yes] I received this monitor from B&H in perfect condition. It was easy to set up, using the included instructions from Dell. It came with a calibration report from the factory. I have been using it primarily for viewing grayscale and color images. The screen is sharp and its contrast is very high. There are no bad pixels. I have had no problems --it just works.

[3H] This monitor exceeded my already high expectations. I am a digital artist. I have been using computers for design and fabrication since 1985, so I have been around the block a few times.
The color accuracy and resolution are outstanding. My main reason for choosing this monitor is the ability to use either landscape or portrait view by rotating the screen on a gimbal. Game changer for a desktop. This monitor is unlike anything on the market. It sets up high so you can turn it to portrait mode which at first concerned ,me. Wrong! It sets at a perfect eye level height, reducing back strain and eye strain. I LOVE this monitor and B&H delivers it's longstanding great service and fast delivery. Go get one. You get what you pay for.


Word of advice: This monitor is a video card monster, it needs at least a mid-range graphics card to get the full effect. It will work, but you will loose it's remarkable image quality.

[3840 x 2160] Color accurate as Dell claims. I run it in a slightly scaled mode with my Macbook Pro 16. I use USB-C to my Satechi Thunderbolt dock connected to the computer and it works flawlessly. Note that if you use an HDMI adapter from a dock or the hdmi connection on a dock, or certain HDMI to USB-C adapters you may have the issue with it flashing black randomly very quickly maybe a couple times a day. It is like a disconnect type behavior. This is an Apple issue, not a Dell one. See the forums online. If running in full 4k unscaled, connect a quality HDMI cable directly to the Mac, or use a quality USB-C / Thunderbolt cable. You will be fine.


At 4k native, I think the PPI is just a hair too small for comfort on text. I think the 5k 41 Dell monitor on native resolution has a slightly lower PPI so you could probably get away with that. I cam from a 43 Dell 4k monitor on native resolution so this is obviously a little more dense than that.


Regardless, the style, quality, image quality, color, brightness, and the wonderful usb hub built into the monitor are great. No, unlike my 43, this does not have built in speakers, but Dell sells a clip on soundbar or you can just buy a slim computer speaker and sneak it under your desk somewhere since the sound quality is not the greatest anyways.


For normal people I think 32 1440p is probably the best resolution to diagonal ratio, but 32 4k with a slight scale is great for getting just enough windows and not being too hard to read.
