[Aluminum] Purchased it for WD 20TB Ultrastar 7200 rpm SATA 3.5 for backup. Works great, the bus speed is not much different from the internal bus speed if the HDD mounted internally.

[3.51 lb] I have four of these and they work flawlessly! When DROBO decided to not support the new Mac OS, I used these to quickly and cheaply back up many terabytes of data. Minor assembly required, but it even comes with a small screwdriver. 3 minute operation to insert the drive and secure it. I think they are very quiet compared to many drives.

[24 TB] I bought a 16TB hard drive to put in this. Extremely easy, basically slides right in and the cover goes back on. Very well made.

Storing TB's of photos, I've used several different drives. The Oyden is by far the fastest at transfer I've used. It's also exceptionally quite. It does get a bit warm, but nothing near hot. Again, much cooler than any past drive.


I use it on-desk and don't carry it around, and backup by doing a full file-copy. (I want better access and portability than a true backup will give me.) The rubber frame around the drive will handle any minor vibration I have, as well as moving it from desk to storage. Overall, a really nice unit.

[ 3.5" HDD ] This enclosure was so simple to set up. I put my Seagate 20TB HDD inside of it and it fired right up and works perfectly. This is a must buy!

[ 3.5" HDD ] I love these hard drives, I have a 12T and 18T. They work really well with my new MacBook Pro. At first, when the computer would go to sleep, they would sometimes dismount and then when the computer would wake up they would remount, but I'd see that message that they were not dismounted properly. Tech support recommended two changes in the system preferences, and now they work well. (The settings they recommended were under Battery, then Power Adapter, Uncheck "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when display is off and Uncheck Put hard drives to sleep when possible.)

The drives are fast and smooth. I love the cables they come with, and I love the blue case. I used to buy G-Drives because I thought they were the best. These are a great replacement. I was impressed with the recommendation of Mike Bomich of Carbon Copy Cloner. Theses hard drives really are the best kept secret, as another reviewer wrote.

[24 TB] I bought this a few weeks ago and am very glad I did. I have a Seagate IronWolf 20TB drive inside this thing and it is awesome. It makes for a small footprint on your desk and works flawlessly. The blue bumper pads around the edges really look cool. This is a must buy and it is not expensive at all. A perfect home for your 3.5 HDD. BUY AT B&H TODAY!!!
