Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adapter work as an audio INPUT from the headphone jack of an external audio device to the Lightning INPUT of an iPad/iphone?

A: Yes, you can use the Lightning port on an iPhone as an audio input. If you are connecting from a 3.5mm headphone output, you can use a cable like Rode's SC7 (B&H # ROSC7) which has a male 3.5mm TRS connector on one side and a male 3.5mm TRRS connector on the other side. The female end on the Apple Lightning adapter is 3.5mm TRRS so you connect the SC7 cable to the Apple adapter and then connect the Apple adapter to your iPhone. If you already have a 3.5mm aux cable, then you can use Rode's SC4 adapter (B&H # ROSC4) which has a female 3.5mm TRS connector on one side and male 3.5mm TRRS end on the other side. Both setups achieve the same results.

Q: 2. iPhone 12

A: The iPhone 12 has a USB C port. When used with an Apple USB-C to Lighting adapter, which typically comes supplied with an iPhone 12, the Lighting to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter could be used.

Q: 3. Is this connector compatible with iPhone 11?

A: Yes, the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter BH #APLAADAP is compatible with all iphones that use the Lightning connection which is the connection on the iPhone 11.

Q: 4. can i use it to connect a microphone to iphone 11?

A: No, this works with USB-C phones only.

Q: 5. Can it support a lav mic?

A: Yes Apple USB Type-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter supports Lav Mic.

Q: 6. Does this provide a 3.5mm TRS (Stereo Audio), or TRRS (Stereo Audio + Mic)?

A: The Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter BH #APLAADAP is TRRS.

Q: 7. Does it have DAC

A: This is a USB-C to 3.5 plug adapter.

Q: 8. does anyone besides apple make this cable?

A: I'm sure you can get a third party brand on Amazon, but every time I buy a non-apple cable they break or the phone does not always accept the input source. Get the real deal.

Q: 9. will this work with an I-phone 11 max?

A: Yes, this is compatible with an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Q: 10. Can I use a mic that requires plug-in power such as the Rode Videomicro?

A: This will only work with self powered mics. It passes through enough power for many headphones, but not microphones.

[0.035 lb] I understand that these are a decent DAC & they worked fine on my Windows Surface 4. I had heard that they may need an app for products other than apple. Now I can connect my old headphones to my iPhone 15.

[Black] This little cable works. But it's annoying to have to use an audio adapter for every new standard used by these companies.

[0.035 lb] This dongle lets you connect to wired headphones or even to your car to play out some of your sweet tunes. Probably overpriced, but Apple makes the rules here. I’m sure this little adapter will outlast your phone.

[0.035 lb] Dear god, I'm on number five now and I have no idea where the first four disappeared off to. I've never had any breaks or malfunctions, however, so this appears to be a skill issue.
