This Sirui L-324F Carbon Fiber Tripod with KS-40 Ball Headfrom Sirui L-324F Carbon Fiber Tripod with KS-40 Ball Headis a lightweight and highly portable carbon fiber tripod designed with landscape and location photography in mind. The tripod and head system has a maximum height of 60.9" and a robust 39.7 lb load capacity, all while folding down to 25.2" and weighing only 5 lb. Designed without a center column, the tripod and head have a compact profile and a low minimum height of 6.6", making it easy to carry in a backpack or large camera bag. The 4-section legs feature flip-lock joints for fast and simple setup, and they fold out into three locking leg angles for shooting at eye level down to ground level.

The L-324F has a ballast hook for adding a weight bag for improved stability, and the leg's rubber feet can be removed to reveal steel spikes for traction on slick surfaces. The leg apex features a 1/4"-20 female accessory mount and a 3/8"-16 accessory mount for customizing your setup. Additionally, the spring-loaded head mounting screw converts from 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20, accommodating virtually any tripod head.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I switch the ball head to the K-20X?

A: It is packaged with the Y-11 head. The head is removable & A K-20 will fit. If you don't already own a K-20, why not try it with the Y-11 first. It may be just what you need.

Q: 2. What is the total weight of this combo (tripod + head)?

A: The tripod and head together weigh 1.1kg/2.4lbs

Q: 3. Are the legs non-rotating so that all twist locks on one leg can be opened at once?

A: Yes, all of the twist locks of each leg can be loosened at once.

Q: 4. if legs = 28 oz and head = 7.2 oz where is weight of the center column? Does the 28 oz value include center column?

A: The center column is a part of the tripod, so its weight is included in the tripod weight.

Q: 5. Is the flip lock metal or plastic?

A: The flip lock is plastic and the hardware surrounding it is metal.

Q: 6. what is the max height fully extended with camera mounted?

A: The following unit comes in at 4ft and 7 inches. Depending on which camera being used will determine final height but typically you can add another 4-5 inches to make up difference.

Q: 7. Can I use this tripod in streams/standing water around a foot deep?

A: Yes, the Sirui ET-1204 Carbon Fiber Tripod with E-10 Ball Head may be used in water. I simply recommend to wipe the tripod down as soon as possible after usage in water, especially if near/in salt water.

Q: 8. can the center column be inverted?

A: Yes Sirui ET-1204 Carbon Fiber Tripod with E-10 Ball Head allows the center column to be inverted. Check this manual on page 1 item 7 as it explains it. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/571655.pdf

Q: 9. Can you use the tripod without the center column?

A: Unfortunately not. You need a center column. It does however include a short center column. You can swap out the center column for the shorter one. This allows for shooting low to the ground and reduces carrying weight as well.

Q: 10. Is the ball head interchangeable?

A: Yes it is interchangeable

[Yes] I bought this to replace my monopod that I use on a daily basis with my canon 5d mark iv and 70-200 f4 lens. The first thing I did was replace the ballhead with the one that I originally had on my monopod as it is an upgrade that I already owned. The ballhead that came with it was definitely not ideal my camera/lens.

This tripod does the trick in terms of being still when you need it to but I would not call it sturdy unless you are using a very small camera.

As I said, I typically will use it this more like a monopod than as a sturdy tripod to begin with. I have a few solid 20 year old tripods laying around my studio. I never take them out with me because they are way too heavy. I shoot lots of family portraits and chase lots of kids around in parks... This tripod is a bit cumbersome as a monopod, meaning using the tripod with all the legs in their closed position but it is still better than shooting without a monopod. I know I can take off one leg and convert it to be a monopod... but what I found to be the best so far for me is to have the 3 legs extended only about 4 out from the center so I have a very tippy tripod. I never let go of my camera while I am shooting so I am not worried that it will fall over while I use it in a barely open stance.
I intend to make some kind of donut that may somehow attach to the lower center column and stop the legs from coming in too far when they are in their fully closed position.

The biggest problem I have is that this tripod when fully lengthened is not tall enough for me so I will likely go back to using my taller monopod for some sessions.

I gave this 5 stars based on the fact that if I were to use it for the weight of the camera it was intended for it would be great. Also considering how compact and light it is, it really makes it so easy to bring it along on any outing.

[Ball Head] Well-made and easy to use. I've taken it out into the field many times now and have had no problems. Only way I'd consider not using it is if my gear gets too heavy.

[Yes] I'm using this tri/mono-pod with a Nikon D500 and Nikon 80-400 lens. Using published data, this setup is approx 5.5lbs. The legs are very sturdy. Expect to tighten the ball head really tight to eliminate all droop. Or else aim a little high and account for the droop. The trade off is that this is a very light travel travel tripod that converts to a monopod at a very reasonable price.

[Yes] I was looking for a light-weight photography (ballhead) tripod. Something that was carbon fiber. This checked all the boxes. I take it everywhere with me. Lately, I've even been taking it to video shoots.

[Carbon Fiber] Compacted, light weight from travel or hiking, good height for a travel tri-pod, optional monopod. With My Nikon 750 with a 200-500 lens and extender it handles the weight but the balance at heights are worrisome to leave standing alone, but again I bought it for travel which I’m very pleased.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Strong, versatile, and compact. Will be a great tripod for hiking and backpacking. This is a replacement for my MeFoto tripod which finally wore out.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I use this tripod for photo and video and with the ball AND fluid head, it meets all the needs I have for both. The build quality is excellent and about what you'd expect from a $350 tripod, maybe a bit better. It's very versatile for both photo and video. The only drawback is the weight. It's heavy. Which also makes for another drawback, it's also somehow not heavy enough. It's purely middle of the road on both. It is, however, incredibly sturdy and hasn't failed any task I've thrown at it. If I need more weight, I throw a bag on and it's fine. The fluid head is very smooth throughout its entire range of motion and both heads are easy to set up and use. It's an incredible value for the price. With both the ball and heads, and the tripod itself, you'll be hard pressed to find a similar package for the price. I priced out what everything would have cost on its own, for Siriu and other brands, and this or a similar set up would have cost at least $500+.

[Yes] Been using this for 4 months now and it has been one of the best investments I've ever made. Light, sturdy and well-made. Have mounted both a Sirui K-X10 ball head and a Sirui PH-2gimbal. Reasonably-priced and perfect for the D5600/300 f/4 combination that I have used.

[3 Positions] I got this tripod to use with my spotting scope, because the old tripod and ballhead just didn't do the trick. This setup is so light and sturdy and makes the outings much more enjoyable. I picked up a Sirui tripod last year for my camera, they are a great addition to me setup.
