Designed for APS-C mirrorless camera sensors, the black Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II Lens Blackfrom Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II Lens Blackoffers a versatile full-frame equivalent zoom angle of 24-75mm within a compact design. A variable aperture of f/3.5 to 5.6 helps keep the lens's size and weight to a minimum while accommodating most use cases. When the camera is powered off, the lens retracts to just 1.25".

Quick autofocusing and improved Optical SteadyShot image stabilization counteract handheld camera shake for sharper imagery. Four aspherical elements and one Extra-Low Dispersion element ensure high-resolution imagery throughout the zoom range. The lens supports focus pulling while shooting up to 120 fps and autofocus while zooming for intuitive single-person filming with moving subjects.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a parfocal lens?

A: Hmmm. Good question. I guess if you use it in auto mode it seems to stay in focus but I will not say it's a true parfocal esp with such a wide focal range. If you focus in close and then zoom out it's probably very good but I'd say that it's probably not although I have not actually investigated how well it remains in focus.

Q: 2. I have a Sony ZV E10 with E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS lens. Will this lens hood work with them? Could the hood mounted on this le

A: The FotodioX Reversible Lens Hood Kit for Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS E-Mount Power Zoom Lens is specific for the Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS E-Mount Power Zoom Lens. So, it will work with that lens and any E mount camera.

Q: 3. Is the entire body plastic or the mount only?

A: The Sony E PZ 16-50mm II lens has a metal body and only the lens mount is plastic to help reduce the weight from 116g (the first version of the lens) to 107g.

Q: 4. Using this lens with a sony a6000. Does anyone know of a way to mount it on a camera head like the vinten vision blue? The bottom of the lens extends below the camera body blocking the plate from entering the head.

A: Please email us at photo@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com/a so we can assist you in-depth with your inquiry.

Q: 5. Not a par focal lens. However, if used on an FX30 would the auto focus compensate enough while zooming stage events?

A: No, the Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens is not a fast enough or consistent when zooming and relying on autofocus to be accurate.

Q: 6. Does this work with the Sony Alpha 6600 (and other Alphas in the 6000 series)?

A: Yes, the Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II Lens (Sony E, Black) is compatible with all Sony cameras with an APS-C sensor including the cameras in the 6000 series.

Q: 7. Is this lens compatible with sony a 6500 camera?

A: Yes, the a6500 uses Sony's e-mount system. I use this on my a6300. Heavy, but I love it.

Q: 8. Sorry, I know this has been covered in some places, but there are conflicting opinions/comments... Can this lens be used with the FS7 to shoot 4K? Any vignetting or limitations? I need the widest possible PZ lens for a jib setup. Thanks

A: I use this lens with three different Sony cameras including the full frame A7. So to answer your question about the sensor... yes it can be used with full frame. The resolution is not important.

Q: 9. I just bought a Sony A6000. Will this hood fit my camera lens? Thanks

A: I use this on my a6000 and it works fine. The shade turns freely on the adapter (no dot or mark for where to position it). So you need to be careful that it is orientated properly or it will interfere with the photo at wide angle. You can put a mark on the shade to help check it is in the proper position.

Q: 10. Assuming maximum aperture for this lens is 3.5 at 18mm and 6.3 at 200mm, what is the maximum aperture for this lens at 70mm zoom?

A: At 70mm, the maximum aperture is 5.6. I didn't guess, I had to set the zoom to 70mm and 5.6 was the max aperture that I could get.

[Yes] Perfect solution for the lack of a lens hood for the Sony E PZ 16-50mm.
Brilliant idea to include a built in step up ring to the more common 52mm filter thread size, saved me having to but yet another CPL filter.

I have had not any issues with any 'Lens not detected' errors with this lens hood on my A6300 with the hood in both the deployed position or reversed to stow against the lens barrel. When attaching the mount for the hood I only tightened it until the hood started to rotate round the mount

[0.535 lb] There have been complaints about the hood spinning in place. There are two grooves on the adapter. By installing the hood in the second (closest to the camera), the hood stays as designed.

I've had no problems. It does what it's supposed to do.

[APS-C] I wanted a GOOD tele zoom. I have a third party tele zoom lens that I had hoped would work well. It was a disappointment. This lens is more than I was hoping for. Great color, exceptionally sharp photos and more. On 24MP files digital zooming in Lightroom means I doubt I'll ever need a longer zoom. And it covers wide angle exceptionally well too! Other than the lens hood being a little funky (I believe its made more for movies than still shots), I have no complaints and I'm VERY HAPPY I spent a few extra bucks to get this lens!

[0.22x] I got this lens included with my VG30 and I must say I really enjoy it. The focus and zoom rotate very smoothly. The only thing that bothers me is the bump at the bottom of the lens. It makes it alittle uncomfortable to handle, but overall a great lens.

[40.5 mm (Front)] This hood works just as well on the full frame 28-60 lens. I like it better than the Vello which is shown as the recommended accessory for that lens. B&H: add this Fotodiox hood to the 28-60 accessories.
