A: 5.9 will fit inside a 6x6 frame.

A: The Matthews Unbleached Muslin Overhead Fabric (5.9 x 5.9') BH #MAF66MU is not fire retardant.

Q: 8. Can the muslin side be painted for use as a background?

A: Ryan, The muslin is a very loosly threaded fabric and it is likely paint would bleed through affecting the Black Fabric. Therefore I would not suggest painting the muslin side of this fabric.

Q: 9. Can the cross bar on the be use under smaller configuration??? It says 4 piece cross bar. Can you use 2 or 5 of the pieces to use it as a smaller unit??

A: The crossbar in this kit can be used in either 2, 3 or 4 sections to allow the use of smaller or large backgrounds.

Q: 10. Do they help reduce shadows compared to a white wall?

A: Backgrounds do not reduce shadows. You will need lighting specifically for the background if you wish to remove shadows.

[Muslin] greatest of the naturallest of lights . classic to have in every kit. skin tones with golden glow when reflected and smoooth when diffused. however the light source needs to be of high output for a great result 5

[Hook & Loop] Look. I understand that they're just reflectors with various levels of shininess. There is something different about these that is hard to describe. I started with the starter kit. I bit the bullet and thought I'd give 'em a try. I surprised myself by how often I ended up using them and how helpful they are. Even my assistants are surprised at their usefulness. They're kinda like Graf Strato (Fisso) Stands and Cardellini Clamps. Once you start using them, you can't stop using them. I can't stop using them, they're great! 5

[Hook & Loop] Very well-made diffuser that fits the 150 modifier perfectly. The light that comes from it is just gorgeous on skin tones. 5

[3' / 0.9 m] I own a bunch of these fabrics in an 8x8 thinking that I would be able to produce more better looking wides. And yes this is definitely the case, however not all situations can use a huge 8x8. For example we may not have the space or maybe even time to set it up or even the permit (i.e. in public spaces). But this 4x4 hits the sweet spot for 90% of my shoots (i.e. low budget, fast moving, grip it and rip it style). I am usually tightening up the shot to cheat our lack of resources most of the time and this is perfect for getting those type of shots and in a fast timely manner too. 5
