Best thing to do is check the specs on the canon webpage or contact canon direct to get the lens diameter.Failing that take a piece of masking tape and put it tightly around the lens barrel where the focus ring is. Take a pen or marker and put a line on the tape so it over laps the tape. Take the tape off and accurately measure the distance to get the circumference of the lens. Divide this number by Pi or 3.1416 to get your diameter of the lens.
