Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does unit work for guest once installed

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-PRO UniFi Access Point Enterprise Wi-Fi System BH #UBUAPACPROUS guest network features works like other systems do. You can create a separate SSID for guests, it can be open or have a password and it also allows you to create a greeting pag which is useful if used in a business/retail environment.

Q: 2. Ubiquity pro access point. Will it work automatically once it’s plugged in using adaptor. Or do y have to have special ubiquity software

A: You will need to use the Unifi controller software in order to configure the access point.

Q: 3. Does Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-PRO have POE+ injector included or not?

A: No the injector included is 802.3af standard PoE

Q: 4. Can you confirm that all current stock is the v2 of this product?

A: We are constantly getting in new stock of these access points so there is a very good chance that this is the latest version, however these is no way to guarantee a product will be a specific version when you get it.

Q: 5. Will this work with Verizon fios router or will i need a POE injector? Any other surprises i may run into?

A: You will need to use the PoE injector. Routers don't have PoE ports in general. The PoE injector is included.

Q: 6. Is this meant for an office environment or is it also safe for home use? Also, I have an office separate from my house. I'm assuming I'd need to get a long PoE cable into the house to plug into here. How long can that cable be, and what type do I need to get?

A: All of Ubiquiti's Unifi products can be used in either a home or office/business setting. As for getting Wi-Fi in your office, wired or wireless solutions are available. The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-PRO UniFi Access Point Enterprise Wi-Fi System comes included with a power adapter that will supply the unit with PoE via a wall adapter. You do not need to run a long cable to this unit from your PoE router/switch.

Q: 7. Can this unit be mounted on wall vs ceiling?

A: Yes, included with the product would even be a wall mount option

Q: 8. What real world wifi speeds are you all seeing with these WAPs? I have gigabit internet that runs about 800-900mb/s on all the wired devices, but only see between 70-120mb/s when on the AC wifi using Luxul WAP-1510's.

A: We've seen up to 400mbs on these. However a typical wi-fi AC connection depends on the device, distance, interference, etc. Real world for us is 120-180mbs for most devices.

Q: 9. The BH listing shows this includes 5 Pieces but I only see three pieces. What am I missing?

A: Included in the box are 5 access points.

Q: 10. Does the device have 180 degree or 360 degree directional antennas? If I mount this on the top of a 12' freestanding wall (facing upwards) and the wireless clients connected to it are below it will the signal be affected?

A: The signal will be affected, you would want to mount it facing down. The Antenna is not a full 360 and it works best facing in the direction of the wireless clients.

[300] I have 5 of these in my house and I really like them. I have replaced a variety of previous generations and these are much faster. They are all connected via 2.5ghz ethernet and an Unifi switch that supports 2.5ghz ethernet.
I use the stand on 4 of the, and one is wall mounted.

[22 W] This is my first U7 pro. I've used UI equipment for 5+ years. The U7 is noticably more robust. Speed tests are about 10%-20% faster that U6 Pro. (Unscientific!) Installation is as easy as all the other AC Pro models. No issues or complaints.

[24] I thought it was dead on arrival until I educated myself on PoE standards. I had 24V pass thru switch and this needs a 48V switch. I upgraded and once connected, it was adopted and configured in 30m including: upgrade, configuring networks, configuring WiFi channels. I probably don’t need a WAP such as this, but it is nice to potentially future proof my house if WiFi 7 becomes a thing.

[Access Point] If you're planning on purchasing a U7 Pro for the 6Ghz radio, be aware that's it's incredibly fast (1Gbps!) but has trouble penetrating glass, let alone drywall / concrete. With just one drywall wall between myself and the access point, signal strength drops considerably, and the client will either roam to another Access Point or drop to the 5Ghz band. This is a symptom of physics, not the U7 Pro.

Just keep the above in mind until you're using clients that actually support Wi-Fi 7, which means they can connect to the 6Ghz band and the 5Ghz band at the same time.
