Safely support your heavy cinema camera rig with the SCG T6 StediFast HD Carbon Fiber Tripodfrom SCG. Designed for use with a separately available fluid head, this lightweight two-stage, three-section tripod features a 100mm bowl and includes a 75mm bowl adapter for support for a wide range of heads. It supports heavy payloads up to 77 lb and offers a working height range from 25 to 63". A fast, single flip-lever lock is used to lock all three legs into place.

For greater rigidity with heavier loads, the carbon fiber tripod legs include a mid-level spreader for support. When removing the spreader, the legs can spread for a height down to 12" for low-angle shots. The StediFast also comes equipped with wide, removable rubber feet that enable you to use the tripod safely on flat or uneven surfaces. When they are removed, you can utilize the spiked feet to keep stability on soft and grippy surfaces. It folds down to 30" in length for easy transport.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this tripod compatible with Manfrotto Ball-Head 496RC2 and Wimberley Head WH-200 Version II ?

A: This tripod has an industry standard 3/8-16 mounting stud so it should work with the Wimberley head. It will definitely work with the Manfrotto 496RC2.

Q: 2. is the center column reversible?

A: The column on the Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod is not designed to come out. It is designed to be positioned horizontally.

Q: 3. Does this come with a half bowl adapter for either a 75 or 100mm flat base fluid head?

A: Yes, this comes with a 75/100 mm half bowl adapter.

Q: 4. Can you transform it to monopad?

A: Any tripod can be used as a monopod by simply shortening two of the three legs.

Q: 5. Which dolly works with this for mostly cinematography work? Also if legs are taken to the lowest height, will it still fit on the dolly?

A: The following Manfrotto dollies are compatible with this tripod: 114, 127, 127VS

Q: 6. To unlock the legs, how much of a twist/turn is needed? One review says Gitzo only requires a turn and the Sirui a turn - is that a fair comparison?

A: The specification for the Sirui is 1/2 turn.

Q: 7. Is it steady enough to hold a Nikon D3s + 70-200mm f2.8 or 200-500mm lens?My concern is especially if the tripod is steady enough at the center column not moving or shaking while panning.

A: Yes. I use it with my sigma 150-600 sport lens and it works great. It is rated for 33lbs. I think.

Q: 8. Not very clear to me. Is the half bowl itself included?

A: Yes, the Benro Mammoth Carbon Fiber Tripod comes with a 75mm bowl.

Q: 9. I need a good stable, travel tripod for wild life photog. I currently have a Nikon D800e with Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens and Manfrotto/Bogen 3421 gimbal. I am also 5'7 and cannot bend forward for any length of time so tripod needs to be tall enough with very little center column extension. I typically shoot beyond 500mm on my lens. Will this tripod excel for me or is there another model? Thank you.

A: I purchased this tripod at the end of February and have been totally happy with the decision. It is a very stable tripod. I have used it with my Canon 70-200L lens and it has worked very well. I am not familiar with the gimble support you mentioned but I think the tripod would work well for you. When spreading the legs out it takes a little practice to get the hang of it. I have found that you need to back off the legs slightly to get the leg latches to release in order to spread the legs to the next position. If you purchase the four section leg model you should have more than enough height without extending the center column. The tripod is very light and easy to carry in the field. With your big lenses I might suggest that you hang your camera bag from the built in hanger for additional stability although I have not found this to be a problem. The tripod is very stable by itself. As I also own one of Manfrotto's professional studio tripods (which is quite heavy) I have found this to be an exceptional tripod for the field and carrying to various sites. You will not be disappointed with this tripod. Construction is rugged and will hold up well in the field. I hope this helps you.Jim

Q: 10. can someone who have used this tripod for a while and long periods of time IN WATER please give us a report? i have been trying to find a tripod that's waterproof for years and spent countless of money on so many products that always gave up in water... please confirm the durability of the legs and the rings in water... thanks :)

A: I bought mine in Sept of 2016 and have had it in salt water probably over 60 times. I have never rinsed it off and never wiped it down. Admittedly, I'm pretty tough on my gear and killed 3 previous tripods. B&H recommended this one, so I took a chance on it and LOVE it. Even after everything I had put it through, it works like the day I bought it. I did loose a rubber foot somewhere in Hawaii (oh ya, I even shot the lava with it) and had to have it replaced. But that's it. I look at tripods 2 and 3 times more expensive than this one and thought that I need to spend that kind of money to get a good one. Boy am I glad I didn't and the B&H recommended this one. Super happy with it (and no, I don't work for Sirui.. hahaha). Hope that helped you.

[3] The only reason not to use these sticks are if you can't afford them (which is a fine reason). But if you can, they are far more stable, sturdy, and easy to adjust than their single-leg counterparts. The legs slide down when unlocked without any pulling. Go ahead and spend the extra on the HD version (as opposed to the CF-100ENG 2CF). For a little extra, you get a lot more stability. These sticks are very light to carry for their weight rating, and collapse down to be quite short. I bought them because my Manfrotto 535 sticks were flexing too much during high-drag pans, and the feet would occasionally slip or the legs pop inwards. Windy conditions were out of the question. Those issues have been resolved by the Sachtler's spiked feet, mid-level spreader, and heavy build.

[3] The purchase itself went well, and the price was very competitive. The tripod and head were what I wanted and needed - high quality, easy to set up and light, light, light. With the (heavyish) scope mounted it is about as heavy as just my old Manfrotto tripod and head alone. Perfect.

[Mid-Level] Stunningly light, incredibly strong, and unbeatable ease of use. If you can afford the extra cost, there are no finer sticks than these.

[Carbon Fiber] Upgraded from an old Manfrotto, and I absolutely love this one! It has a great feel to it, the release joints are easy to use, yet super secure. 10/10 recommend to anyone if it's within your budget!

[Yes] This is a product for serious film making. While filming for my first nature documentary on a DSLR (Canon EOS 1D Mark IV), I knew what I was missing. My heavy Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM lens weighing 5.3 kgs was giving jitters in other tripods and heads. With a payload of about 95kgs, this will work well with my future film camera (RED) and will last a long long time. I bought this to be used with an Oconnor 1030 HDs fluid head with 100mm bowl. It works like a charm. I know it would be tough to carry in treks. However, there is no escaping the weight if one wants to get rock steady stability. I don't lust after gear, however, I must admit that the tripod looks lovely.

[Carbon Fiber] Works really smooth. It is buffy and incredibly light weight. If you can afford the extra money, you can't be wrong. I use it with the Sachtler heavy duty rubber spreadors and love it. The locks are just 3 and I don't have to kneel down to reach them. For a one-man-show camera department, this is the best. No remorse in buying this at all.

[Carbon Fiber] This tripod is light to carry and solid in the wind. It's exactly what I needed for my spotting scope. I added a bit of padding for my shoulder and am enjoying it a lot. A big improvement from my old aluminum one.
