Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does anyone else's extendable handle seem loose? Wasn't sure if this was an intentional design aspect or if mine is loose when it shouldn't be. I just bought the 1620 and the extendable handle was like this when I received it. Love the case overall, just wasn't sure about the extendable handle.

A: Hello mine is not loose and works great.Love the case use it for video cameras.Thank youBill Briddle

Q: 2. How this compare to the equivalent SKB version? Are the latches hard to open?

A: Which case you choose would would be personal preference. Both the Pelican 1620NF Case and the SKB iSeries 2217-12 Waterproof Utility Case are extremely durable heavy duty cases with limited lifetime warranties from the respective manufacturers. Some people state the SKB latch is slightly easier to disengage simply due to the position of the trigger release, while others feel the Pelican dual clutch release offers an additional level of security, but I do not think they are hard to open.

Q: 3. Will the 1550 hold an EOS R6, Ikelite housing, 14-35 and dome port?

A: No, the Pelican 1550 Case with Foam would not offer enough space for those items. A better option is the Pelican 1560 Case with Foam Set (Black), BH # PE1560FB. https://bhpho.to/3TraNmY

Q: 4. Does this case include the pick-n-pluck foam or just normal foam?

A: Pick n pluck foam.

Q: 5. how much does the empty case weigh???

A: We have just the case's weight listed at 20 pounds.

Q: 6. would the common double cine battery attachments for the monitor fit in this case? it looks unlikely

A: We agree, that is unlikely as HPRC lists it as being able to fit a Gold Mount Mini Battery or similar. It will hold a battery like BH #COHLX150AG, not larger batteries like the Double Cine models.

Q: 7. Can this fixture control individual cells?

A: No, the Creamsource SpaceX RBGAW Color LED Light, 1200W does not allow for control of the individual cells.

Q: 8. can it fit the mini ursa pro 12k?

A: yes this will fit the ursa mini pro 12K, the body design of the camera is the same

Q: 9. What is the waterproof rating for this product?

A: The Pelican 1120 Case with Foam has an IP-67 rating for temporary submersion (1 meter for 30 minutes).

Q: 10. Does it come with dividers? Can I use Pelican 1615AirTP's dividers? Which 3rd party dividers fit this ?

A: No, the Manfrotto Pro Light Reloader Tough-83 High Lid Wheeled Hard Case without Insert does not come with dividers. Unfortunately, we cannot confirm if the Pelican dividers would be compatible for use with the Manfrotto Pro Light Reloader Tough-83 Case, but the Pelican 1615AirWD Wheeled Hard Case with Divider Insert (Black) or the Pelican 1615AirTP Wheeled Hard Case with TrekPak Divider Insert System (Black) appear to be the closest in size to the interior dimensions of the Manfrotto Pro Light Reloader Tough-83 Case

[Yes] I purchased the version with the Trek Pak system and it holds A7r II, A7r III, A7 III, all with cages, 4 lenses, 2 Godox flashes, Godox transmitter, filters, batteries for cameras and light kit, 2 on camera monitors, 2 Rode mics, 3 Sony wireless lav mics, cut a channel to hold 12.9” iPad Pro. Love this case - was able to loose 2 bags and I usage it as my daily storage on a wire wrack so it’s easy to grab and go.

I order an extra Trek Pak divider kit as well. FYI - they don’t come with extra locking pins but I had just enough with the amount given with the case.

[Latch] I was looking for a deep protective case and I've found one!

I would have prefered something with more red straps (or at least have the ability to purchase some more in extra), but two is still fine to hold in my Fs7 and A7S III (in cage) so they stay put when going places.

For the moment, I am only using one of the two padded trays and am waiting for the padded cubed foam (backordered at the moment) that is going to be used on top when taking airplanes but the padded trays + organizers on top works great for me for the moment.

It's tough, built to last, got great warranty and looks good.

It will probably get scratched overtime, but at least I'll know my equipment (be it what I am using for the moment or the one I'll use in 5-10-20 years) is in good shape.

[Yes] Works Great ! Two tier soft insert lightyears above pluck and pull foam.
960 big enough for 2 FX6's and an FX3 with glass and accessories. Very streamlined camera package. Love it !

[Latch] I gave the TrekPak addition a lot of thought before purchasing. Im so glad I decided to buy it because its amazing. I love the clean fitting. Much neater than pluck foam which starts to fall apart after a few uses. I can reconfigure this case anytime I want to!

The Pelican Air series are really light weight, especially the 1615 which is around the size of a large suite case. I have flown half way around the world with this case checked in and its still in great condition.

Its worth every cent when you consider the value of gear going inside it.

[Yes] Strongly Recommend this Peli case for stills photographers who need to airline  check Equipment as padding is superb and can accommodate large lenses

[Latch] This Air model is much lighter than the regular case which means a lighter result with all your gear.

The construction is top quality and I am glad to have chosen the trekpak dividers. They are ridiculously easy to install.

The only two cons that I see are:

1) The ID tag is slided in, but it is not enough for it to be kept from removing it by accident. I had to screw it in. It would be great to have it more permanent by default.

2) I would have liked to have the top padding swapped with a storage add-on, but it does not seem available for the 1615Air.

[Latch] See the review of 935 basically the same, just larger.

[Yes] We have five Pelican cases, of different shapes and sizes. They are all the best cases we have ever used. Jumbled thru airports and baggage claims, tossed into trucks, they take a beating and keep on working.
The cases, simply put, rock.
Now, the TrekPak insert system: nice, easy to use, and allowed us to create a packing arrangement exactly suited to our needs.. The stuff cuts easily, with the included cutter. Be sure to lay out your stuff first, as they suggest.... you will not get a second chance once you have cut the piece!
I would suggest buying an extra set of the little staples they use to hold the pieces in place. We needed four more than were included to make the set-up we wanted.

[Latch] I have 2 of HPRC cases and they are built like tanks! When you invest thousands of dollars in the imaging equipment, its no brainer to invest in cases to transport and store the equipment in them. I have tried the drone case company but the quality and toughness weren't there. If you're looking for case to store your sensitive equipment, look no further!
