This 62mm B+W MRC Nano 712 Graduated ND Filter 62mm 2-Stopfrom B+W MRC Nano 712 Graduated ND Filter 62mm 2-Stopdarkens specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. Equipped with a brass rotating mount, precise positioning of gradation can be achieved. Characterized by high color neutrality, the transition is soft with no hard edges, and the density provides up to to 25% light transmission and a 2-stop reduction in light.

Equipped with multiresistant nano coating for optimal image quality, the filter is also stain and scratch resistant and easy to clean.

A: The MRC BASIC 007 Clear Filter would lack the scratch resistance of the MRC MASTER version. Otherwise, both have a knurled ring and are resistant to water droplets/dust/dirt.

[Glass] I have just had the filter for a few days so I haven't given it a thorough test. However, I did take a few shots and got very pleasing results. I was shooting into a forest with a pretty bright sky. The forest was nicely exposed and the sky was excellent with lots of good cloud detail.The fact that the filter has a rotation ring made it possible to shoot in both portrait and landscape modes. I did not see any problem with color shift. I believe that I will be keeping it on the lens when doing landscape photography. 5

[Glass] Great for landscapes. Though not mentioned in the description of the product, it rotates when attached to the lens. Performs exactly as expected by reducing light in sky. 5

[Glass] This graduated ND is good for landscapes and wide shots, but you can use on other occasions as well because the transition is smooth accross the filter. 5

[Glass] I have a GRAD ND 0.6 in 52 mm and its worked when the situation has called for it. I always carry polarizer and grad nd filters when I leave home. Most other grad nd filters are plastic. All Tiffens are glass and MADE IN USA! 5

[Brass] This filter is a must have if you like to shoot landscapes where there is a huge contrast between the highlights and shadows. I like to shoot sunsets and getting the right exposure which reveals enough of the foreground without blowing off the highlights is a challenge, if not totally impossible without exposure bracketing or HDR. I personally am not a big fan of HDR, and bracketing requires you to be a very precise with the focusing and all, so I wanted this filter. I was at first not sure which grad ND to buy. So I hit Live Chat. The person I talked to was more than happy to answer my question and direct this product. So far, I have nothing to complain. So far, I am very happy with this product as it does exactly what I expected. 5

[Brass] This is the only filter that helps when you're shooting something with uneven lighting - like above and below the horizon when you are shooting sunsets. The Tiffen filter is consistently high quality and doesn't vignette the lens. No negative comments. 5
