Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the ground plamp?

A: Yes, it is compatible.

Q: 2. Looking to use this with my 1dx mark ii on my 85mm 1.4 IS for doing closeup macro like shots for product videos instead of spending $750 on the 100mm macro lens for the moment (i'll eventually get it). Anyone else have sucess using it for anything similar?

A: Adding this extension tube between the 1dx2 and the 85mm 1.4 IS will change the magnification from 0.12 to 0.41. It will help you take photos of items such as a large flower, but a very small item like a diamond on a ring would need a higher magnification of 1x. If the products you are taking videos of are large enough such as a desert plate this extension tube will work for that.

Q: 3. What is the load capacity of this clamp on the Plamp II system?

A: The load capacity is unknown but an estimated guess would be from 1-2 lbs.

Q: 4. Can I remove clamp and attach it to threaded mountpoint?

A: While the clamps are removable, they cannot mount onto a threaded mounting point.

Q: 5. What do you mean by middle and tele zoom settings..because I have a 18-135 and a canon 60d ..

A: Hi.As you know, extensions tube are used to be able to focus closer than the minimum admited by the lens, at the cost of loosing the focus to infinite when the tube is in place. As well, as the lens goes further away from its natural position, there will be vigneting with wide angle lenses. This is to be noticed in not so wide angle lenses with full frame. That's why its use is not recommended for lenses wider than around 50 mm. On your Canon 60D probably you'll be able to go wider, but I don't know how much, as I only use full frame bodies.I hope this helps youJavier

Q: 6. Does this extension tube work with the Sigma 50-100 canon fit?

A: I do not have that Sigma lens so I am not able to confirm that the Canon Extension tube will work.

Q: 7. Anyone used this to hold test charts out into a scene?

A: Yes, will work well for test charts.

Q: 8. extender ef1.4 and ef2x connect f24-105 4 is usm to 5d markiii will it work?

A: yes, it works.

Q: 9. Can I use this extension to mount a Canon ef-s lens on a FF (ef) body ie use it as a converter...and if yes, will it change focal length?

A: No it will not work as a converter. Unfortunately, you must buy a new lens if you have just recently changed camera bodies.

Q: 10. Some clamps are black and others grey. What's the difference and which one do we get here?

A: There is no difference but just the color. This one is black.

[5 x 5 x 0.75"] Will be a nice addition to my boom pole. Simple but seems to be a durable item. Unfortunately, both ends are open face so I have to DIY 1/4 - 20 and 5/8th on the opposite end to make it work.

[2.4 oz (68 g)] This extension makes the Plamp II much more useful, making the total length over 30. Easy to install into original Plamp II. Pop it apart, dip female socket in HOT water and pop it into the original Plamp II. It is very easy to flex and adjust. Holds position very well. Using it to hold a webcam at my desk.

[2.4 oz (68 g)] I thought I was pretty strong for a woman but I was not able to attach the extension without the help of a man. When the directions say you may need to use some force to attach they weren't kidding. The upside to this is once it is attached you have confidence in the Plamp not coming apart when you are using it. The extension gave me just the added reach that I needed.

[Loc-Line] This is a great extension for the plamps that I use so often in my flower photography. The plamp holds up the flower stem while another may hold the diffuser or reflector!
