Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will two of these lenshoods fit on Canon 18x50 IS Binoculars without any problems?...I know the 58mm thread size will work, I'm just wondering about the physical size.

A: Yes. They fit perfectly and offer great protection for the binoc lenses. High quality product.

Q: 2. Will this fit the Sigma 14mm f/1.4 for L mount?

A: No, the Haida Clear-Night Filter for Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens and 24mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E is not compatible with the Sigma 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens (Leica L).

Q: 3. Will this be compatible with the Fuji 18-55 kit?

A: As the Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Zoom Lens uses 58mm filter threads, the Sensei PRO 58mm Aluminum Lens Hood would fit onto the lens. However, as indicated under the Overview for the lens hood, it is designed for APS-C lenses that have a focal length of 28mm or longer, so there is the possibility of vignetting when using the lens set wider than 28mm (between the 18-28mm range of the lens). I would therefore recommend either using the dedicated lens hood that came with the lens, or consider the Sensei PRO 58mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood, B&H # SELHMW58, which is designed for APS-C lenses up to 18mm wide.

Q: 4. Can this fit with filters?

A: No. The following unit does not offer any front threads.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the rear filter system for sony 12-24mm GM?

A: Haida Clear-Night Filter for Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens will not fit the Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM Lens directly. It will fit if you add the Haida Rear Adapter Ring for Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM Rear Lens Filter. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/38GDrKq

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the Sony 14mm f/1.8 GM?

A: No, the Haida Clear-Night Filter for Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E is not compatible with the Sonly 14mm f/1.8 GM

Q: 7. Does the recommended accessory 62mm lens cap fit on the open end of the hood? (FWIW, a 55mm cap fits on similar hood that is designed to fit lenses with 49mm filter size.) If not, what if any cap will fit the hood?

A: Yes, the front threads of the hood are 62mm.

Q: 8. Can this lens hood be used with a lens filter?

A: Yes, Just be mindful that filter being used must have 58 mm front threads in order to attach hood.

Q: 9. I want to use a center pinch lens cap on the front of this filter. Are the front threads really 58mm as well as the rear threads? Thank you for your time.

A: I bought the 39mm version of this hood, and on my shade both front and rear threads are 39mm.Not having the 58mm version, I can't say the same with any certainty.

Q: 10. Can I mount this on a 58mm lens and still use a 58mm filter?

A: If you mount the Sensei 58mm Quick Clip Lens Hood BH #SELNQC58 on a 58 mm lens, you can't use a filter as the following unit does not offer any front threads.

[58 mm] The K&F Concept Nano-X Filters are well made. I've purchased two 67 mm and one 77 mm and all three fit my lenses perfectly. Optically they have no practical effect on image resolution or light transmission and produce no added glare. These are well-made, reasonably priced filters with exceptional optical performance. It's amazing how much multi-coating technology has improved in the last decade and K & F seems to be fully competitive with the best filters available anywhere.

[58 mm] A filter like this is a MUST HAVE if you want to level up how your images (for photography and video) look in broad, intense daylight in one fell swoop.

They reduce the overall amount of light coming in the camera so you can stop down for a beautiful optically blurred out background and heavily reduce intense sunlight reflections, virtually adding dynamic range in daylight. I knew this would help my shots but my jaw dropped when a got the footage back from testing locations for a project, with and without. (attached photos are screen grabs of video. Shot on Sony A74, Sigma 24-70 f2.8) *Note: This is my first ND filter and first polarizer.

My testing has found a slight cyan cast in the area where sunlight can hit the lens where shadows can be seen, it looks almost dreamy and I kind of like it, but not perfectly color preserving. With Nano-X Pro, I have not encountered any dark X pattern no mater how I adjusted it, which is far better than most Variable ND + Circular Polarizer filters on the market. The included pouch is made of materials that feel great in the hand and its pull tab that makes the filter rise out of the pouch is a very nice touch that makes me wish K&F Concept included this pouch with more filters and also sold separately. I want other filters in these things! (Wile they do sell other pouches. They do not sell the ones included with these filters.)

If you are on the fence and don't have a ND or polarizer, just get it. It took a while for Polar Pro to finally release something like this, and the price of this one STILL undercuts it. If you are a videographer/photographer, image quality is super important and this is a fantastic tool to help you properly expose your shots. There is a reason why Directors of Photography have built in ND filters on their wish list for their cinema cameras and this is why, it makes their job so much easier and allows them to focus on building the look that they want.

[Glass] The VND itself looks very good. No ugly X over the image. The game changers for me are the hard stops on the variable ring and the magnetic mount. I got rid of my tiffen immediately.

[0.195 lb] I put this filter to use almost immediately after receiving. I believe it works well for shooting night scenes in the day. Using a Sony FDR-AX53 I used to manual exposure to manipulate the video. None were corrected in an editing program. The last photo is using the camera mode on the recorder. All videos are 1080p. Taken at 2pm Dec 23, 2019. Cloudy with light rain.

[Aluminum] I didn't notice any light leaks, color cast, vignetting or an x-effect.

These K&F filters have a hard stop at both ends whereas some of their other variable ND filters spin freely.

Overall a really great value. Perfect for video!

[58 mm] I'm no filter snob, but this seems like an outstanding build quality to me, the case they send for it is a wonderful touch as well. Feels nice, looks nice, does what its supposed to do, great case. What's not to love K&F makes good, reasonably priced products; and I've never had an issue with anything purchased from them, this is not the exception.

[Light Pollution] I am a film photographer and I bought this for my Pentax f/1.4 50mm lens to shoot long exposures of waterfalls. For such a low price I was prepared for problems but all of my images were beautiful and consistent, no difference in picture quality at different exposure times and different lighting conditions. The fact it is waterproof was greatly appreciated since the spray radius off some of the falls was quite impressive. Overall very pleased especially for the price, I would def buy from this brand again.
Good to note: I primarily shoot black and white, and the only color shots I took with this filter were at night, so I can't really speak to how it might affect colors. What I did shoot looked accurate and I don't see any discoloration.

[Aluminum] Bought specifically to use with my GF lenses for the Fuji GFX 50r. Truly does give a more filmic look right to the RAW files. Great for back light and creating natural lens flare. Skin texture is lovely as well.

[Light Pollution] I was very surprised at the results of this filter. I wasn't expecting much based on it's price (sale price especially), but when I tested it, I noticed virtually zero difference in sharpness. I also didn't notice much of a color shift either when using it. Definitely worth the money!
