[314 ppi] Being able to control my FX3 through the monitor is fantastic. No problems with the wifi. Also being able to see the amount I have left on both cards at the same time through the monitor is pretty fantastic.

[16:9] The 7 screen size is useful. Touch focus function is very practical and solves many shooting focus problems.

[85% DCI-P3] After more than half a month of use, i feel it's delay is not obvious, and it's slimmer than many of other monitor. LH7P has a lot of functions and I think it's enough for my shooting.

[85% DCI-P3] As a user of Portkeys monitors, I was excited to try out the PT5 as a solution for my gimbal setups. While most monitors on the market tend to be quite heavy, the PT5 is amazingly lightweight - even lighter than my iPhone 14! Adding an NP Sony battery doesn't affect the weight drastically, so I can carry a bunch of those slim NPs that can last up to an hour on full brightness.

Recently, I had the chance to put the PT5 through its paces on an outdoor shoot that required 100% outdoor filming, and I was extremely pleased with its performance. While the monitor's brightness may not be as robust as a 2000 nits monitor in direct sunlight, it was comfortable to use and incredibly sharp, which made nailing focus on moving shots with my Ronin much easier. The included sunhood definitely helped in bright conditions. Overall, I find the quality of this monitor quite decent for its price point. The included carry case and hotshoe mount are a nice touch as well.

In conclusion, I believe this monitor has more pros than cons. I plan on continuing to use and test it, but I'm already quite satisfied with it. My only small quibble is with the overall brightness of the screen, since I'm used to SmallHD and Portrays BM5II which are incredibly bright outdoors. However, the PT5 performs well with the sunhood, so it's more than adequate in most situations. For quick run and gun shoots and especially when I'm using it on my Ronin, the PT5 is a great monitor to have. I'm particularly impressed with how light and sharp it is, and how well its colors match those on my cameras' LCD monitors.

All in all, I give this monitor my enthusiastic recommendation, especially if you're on a tight budget and looking for a trustworthy, affordable, and decent-quality solution.

[2.375 lb] Over all the monitor does what its supposed to and I think its great.
The only tiny negative is that the cords are hidden under the case cushion a tab sticking out or note to say that they there, would be cool.

[2x L-Series] I had a color issue with the monitor that made it unusable. The port keys customer support was quick to respond, I assumed it was a hardware defect on the HDMI port but it ended up being a software phantom. They helped me fix it quickly and were obviously willing to warranty service the monitor if necessary. 10/10. Beyond this it is VERY bright, cutting through sunlight no problem. Also the wireless connect with my FX3 is super helpful. The form factor is also really nice having fairly small bezels and a really compact aluminum frame that does a good job of dissipating heat. Side note it feels really premium. No plastic on this bad boy other than the buttons which are very clicky and convenient. I highly recommend… especially given the company actually cares about their customers. I actually just bought their $250 7” monitor as a backup and it’s also good. Definitely punched above it’s price point.

[7 to 24 VDC] We use the PORTKEYS BM5 III 5.5 HDMI Touchscreen Monitor with our RED Komodo. So far, it has performed well with no issues. It is bright, sturdy and is compatible with the Komodo, as advertised. It connects with the camera wirelessly. Portkeys has a video showing how to do this and how to use the various features. We've had a couple questions for them and they responded right away. Things that I like best are the bright display, color, tools, rugged build, ability to load LUTS, compatibility with the Komodo, and technical support.

[2x L-Series] I'm really enjoying using this! It has a certain distant jank to it, but it accomplishes everything I was looking for: a sharp, bright external monitor for my cinema rig. Very happy - might get another.

[15 W (Maximum)] I needed another monitor for a new Komodo and this was an easy choice as I already have one for my first one. Once you wrap your head around the swipe gestures it is a very easy monitor to use. The image can be trusted and it is more than bright enough for outdoor use. It does burn through batteries so be sure to get a spare.
