Audio engineers and video editors in need of a complete audio restoration tool set will be impressed with iZotope RX 11 Advanced, the latest update to their audio repair software, which is considered a staple within the recording, mastering, audio-for-video, and postproduction communities. The software can operate either as a standalone application or a plug-in for both Mac- and Windows-based DAWs and NLEs. From fixing common audio problems like noises, distortions, and inconsistent recordings, to repairing severely damaged audio using Spectral Repair, the software can transform previously unusable audio into something usable.

The advanced edition of RX 11 features new state-of-the-art neural networks that supercharge the machine-learning algorithms, enabling real-time, low-latency processing for Dialogue Isolate, the highest quality stem separation for Music Rebalance, and improved intelligence and speed for Repair Assistant. iZotope also added an industry-first Loudness Optimize tool alongside the new Streaming Preview, so you can release tracks in confidence—major upgrades to their Audio Random Access (ARA) processing for a seamless workflow. All previous modules are in place for RX 11 including multichannel support, high-quality resampling, dithering, and the rest of RX's classic features. As always, RX 11 can be used as a standalone audio editor (including standalone but connected to your host via RX Connect, or as your DAW's audio editor in the case of Logic Pro), although much of it can be used as a suite of plug-ins in any DAW.

[Yes] This is a broadcast-style microphone (front address), but it is NOT a dynamic mic. It is actually a small-diaphragm condenser microphone with a BIG sound. You get the absolute clarity and detail you'd expect from a small-diaphragm, but if you run it through a tube-based preamp (UA-610B for example), you also get a warm and full sound.

To my ears, the clarity and detail are far superior to the SM7B or the RE20, and depending on your preamp, you can obtain that darker, rich sound of the SM7B (great for podcasting) or you can achieve sonic clarity (great for voiceovers).

I personally run mine through a Cranborne EC1 preamp into the PreSonus Quantum 2626 interface and into the Studio One 5 Professional DAW. The EC1 can provide total sonic clarity or add a bit of mojo depending on your taste and needs.

The only downside of this mic is that if you're looking for background noise rejection, you'd be better off with a dynamic mic (SM7B, RE20, etc.). This is a condenser mic and it shows in its sensitivity.

If you have decent acoustic control over your space, I highly recommend the ETHOS for broadcast, podcasts, streaming, and voiceovers.

[Download] At the new price point, this is one of the best broadcast/vo mics in my arsenal, hands down. Crisp, focused, and more portable than an SM7B (or another new favorite of mine, the BP40), the Ethos is a fantastic mic. Avoid the Icon, hoard the Ethos.

[Yes] I bought this product as another microphone for singing/podcast recording purposes. I've used Shure SM7B, which is legendary for many great reasons, but this microphone is my new favorite! I would highly recommend this mic to anyone who does voiceover, singing, and podcast work. It is pricey, but it definitely pays off!

[Yes] TL;DR - This mic is incredible. The sound is super crisp and clear, and even though it's not a dynamic mic, it does a great job of eliminating background noise. Bottom line - buy it if you need a great sounding mic!

Long story - I create YouTube videos about cars and riding our Yamaha WaveRunner personal watercraft. I try to record my voice live to save time while editing, but sometimes I just have to do voices overs at home.

I used to use a video-style mic going into my iPhone, and it sounded okay, but I wanted the sound to be great. After reading and watching lots of YouTube reviews, I knew the Earthworks Ethos was the one.

I purchased a PreSonus Studio 24c and the Ethos and love that I don't need a signal booster to get quality sound...and believe me, the sound is quality - once I figured out how to speak properly.

I have never used a mic that was so sensitive (in a good way), but it picked up the slightest noise I made while talking. Once I figured out how to not make clicks and other noises with my mouth, I absolutely fell in love with this mic. I didn't even realize I was doing until I listed to my first recordings.

I have a very minor EQ setting in the higher frequency that I use, but other than that, I just record my voice into the built in Voice Memo app in the Mac and import it into DaVinci Resolve Studio.

I used to record into Logic Pro, and that audio came out better, but the process is more time consuming. I often make a lot of short voice overs, so the Voice Memo app works good enough. If I needed to record something with the highest quality, I'd do it in Logic Pro.

Overall, I love this mic and really can't say enough about it.

[Yes] We purchased this mixer to use specifically for community circus performances. The per-channel, 1-knob compression, per-channel EQ, ability to choose between pre/post Aux send and main EQ made this the perfect choice.

Yes, I read the manual, watched the various online videos and bought the recommended Ultra SDHC card. These tasks addressed all of the complaints I heard about this mixer. It fits nicely inside of a 19 rack (with room to spare). And, the recordings sound great!

Our sound is incredibly dynamic, so I added a compressor on the mains. That's it - Then, straight into the speakers.

[Yes] I bought this to get away from making recordings on a DAW. the interface is intuitive and easy to operate. Plenty of support and learning material on the net. the machine emanates that old school classy console vibe. Knobs and sliders are good quality and feel great. Recordings sound good right out of the unit. Though I haven't used it with a DAW, it has those capabilities as well. Can also be used as a live mixer straight into a power amp. Lots of uses. Just the right size for a small studio.

[Download] This one is an interesting and good-sounding microphone. It feels like a broadcast microphone with decent noise rejection, but it sounds like a condenser with a little bit of mid-forwarding sound.

[Download] Had an amazing recording session last weekend and tracked drums - these pres sound great and totally delivered - the output to my monitors is clean and punchy sounds way better than my 1824c PreSonus (Tascam FTW here) Zero regrets the best gear purchase in a long while.. Plus B&H rocks of course big love to your peoples!! xo

[Yes] Before the Model 12 I used the Model 24 a lot. Sometimes I found myself using very few inputs on the Model 24 but then having to still carry around a huge mixer. It got inconvenient. Then I got a Model 12 and it has been a life saver! Still packs a good punch like the bigger mixer but with a smaller footprint. Travels nicely as well!

[Yes] I needed multitrack recording to Ableton and a way to incorporate a looper into my setup without getting a feedback sound loop. I can do this with the Model 12 by sending tracks out via the SUB out then back in through a separate track pointed at the main out. This can do both so I'm very happy!

Looks great and very well build. I recommend it if you want to upgrade your home studio setup.
